  • Haha luv how many people replied to that :)

  • K41etc - why don't you read the books for yourself? It's clear that you haven't given them more than a cursory skimming for funny quotes you can trot out at your next D&D game.

  • but i see many, many more were annoyed by his lack of neuron-connections so let me be the first to pull it back on track. Love the video, any further plans for discworld fanworks in the future?

A humble fan with slightly disproportioned Sonic receptors.

It is better to be silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and confirm it.

Not Sir Terry, but it could have been.

  • Actually, Lancre is the kingdom. The town is Bad Ass.

  • K41P431K should read the book before registering his very ill informed comment. And you are right, he should get out more.

  • Lancre is a town!!!!! It is not a kingdom!!!! It is found in the Ramptops which is where the magic from the disc is trapped which is why most of the discs witches and wizards come from there. Terry Pratchett whent through the trouble of writting it you should at least read the book before attempting something like this!!! Utter discrace maythisvidiorestinpeace!!

  • @K41P431K Well thanks so much for the comments and for the corrections, you clearly know your Terry from your Pratchett, but maybe you should get out more! thanks

  • @K41P431K L:

Lancre Town is the town. Lanncre is the kingdom. It's kind of like New York City and New York State, you know. Which is not surprising, because Lancre's neighbors to the south, at least in the Sto Plains, are all city states. That is to say, Ankh-Morpork is a city, but also a state, once a kingdom. Sto Lat is a city, but also a kingdom. And Pseudopolis is a city, but also a duchy, I think, and an independent state. Same with Quirm.

  • @K41P431K (cont. 1)

So it's the same thing in Lancre. Margat, Nany Ogg, Granny Weatherwax, Agnes Nitt and others are all in Lancre, even while Granny lives in or near Bad Ass and Margat - and later Agnes - in a cabin in the woods somewhere. In fact, when Nanny writes a book under tghe name of "a Lancre Witch", what with her being the witch of Lancre Town and all, Grany is incensed.

  • @K41P431K (cont. 2)

She is unhappy because outside of Lancre, where she is the Bad Ass witch, everyone who thinks of a Lancre witch thinks of her, and she did not want to be associated with Nanny's advice on sex and food.

  • @K41P431K Wrong, Lancre is situated in the Ramtop mountains, about 500 miles Hubwards of the city of Ankh-Morpork. It is the best-known of hundreds of tiny countries in the Ramtops, occupying a vertiginous shelf looking over the Sto Plains. The town you speak of is The capital "city" of Lancre, Lancre Town....Know your Discworld geography ;]

  • @K41P431K Actually, Lancre is a kingdom, ruled by king Verence since the events of Wyrd sisters, maybe you should read the books before you criticise.

  • @K41P431K actually in the Wyrd Sisters it is described as a kingdom, and has a King, which is a trait commonly found in kingdoms.

  • @K41P431K If it's only a town then why are there at least five different characters in the novel referred to at one point or another as the King of Lancre, and why is the entire book about the usurping of Lancre's throne and the return of the king's heir? You might want to re-read it yourself, I'm afraid...

Great animation by the way, if only the green screen blended a little better :-)

  • @K41P431K yes and respect to the man for writing it. but there is such a thing as inspiration and creative freedom... so dont let that huge stick up your arse splinter and let them have their fun. I for one say "Kudos!". And for someone so uptight you should know that in 'Lords and ladies' terry himself calls Lancre a kingdom.... so maybe they just read more then you have.

  • Ahem... it's Lancre!

  • hey this was really good!
