Try towing a toyhauler through a ditch or to a camp site that requires more than 12+ inches inches of ground clearance. Or just going up trails to camp sites where you'd chip your rims left and right. It has limitations, anyone can make a truck go faster via modifications but losing the versatility of a real one just isn't my thing. To each his own.

If I remember right (its been years since owning a Lightning), its bad on those motors to race them from highway speeds. Lots of cracked heads and such from that. Great from a dig though. Mine was stock aside from a nice stereo and pulley swap and Super 40s. Miss that bad beast.

Americans are fond of big powerful V8s (which sound awesome) , yet european and japanese cars often get the same performance with smaller engines - even at similar weight. It's cuz (mainly germans and japanese) love playing around with engines to see just how much horsepower per cubic inch they can get.

@MrBlias "Worth" comes to what the driver values and their purpose. Buying a truck that has no ground clearance and less utility is not valuable to everyone. I don't have to worry about bottoming out, scratching or denting rims on my truck. A USED B5 S4 has more value for me who desires a comfortable daily driver that has better handling, brakes, gas mileage and is great for going on 5 hour road trips with more than 3 passengers that I take quite frequently and plenty of options for upgrades.

If you want to pull things get a real truck for MUCH cheaper. With speed comes responsibility. Meaning... bigger brakes, better suspension and light weight all help it become more stable and suitable for high speed runs. @Bisynchronous first of all, a real hauling truck is gonna go more than a lgihtning. f250s go for a lot more with comparative milage and condition. second the suspension on a lightening is not even close to that of standard f150. hence the reason its a svt lightning.. Special Vehicles Team. the only things that are the same on the two trucks is the body and the interior.
