  • Brings me back to kindergarten. Loved this

  • Brings me back to Kindergarden in 1994-95.

  • I LOVE that this video includes the intro song! That is what I most distinctly remember from when I was a kid. And as an adult, I always wished I could play the intro song on the guitar, dorky as it sounds LOL! This didn't seem like one big acid trip at the time, but it surely does now!

  • "Mayonnaise I adore..." for 26 years I thought it was "Mayonnaise in the corner".

  • WoW this takes me back to Kindergarden in the 1989-1990!

  • Wow! This takes me back to 1983!

  • I wish Jimi Hendrix would have covered this song, it would have been a hit. The only

Person who could do this song justice today would be weird al it almost sounds like

    he wrote the song haha.

  • I was in Kindergarten in the year 2000 and i had this.

Just so everyone knows that a lot of people can relate to this

  • What's that he says at 0:55? Some kind of milk? Sounds like melon milk.

  • On the very first frame of this video you can see some very dark shots of Mister B and Mister H's music videos.

  • This is too cool. Mr. M had the coolest song ever. Our teacher used his groovy song as an incentive for us to behave. if we behaved ourselves and played nice, we got to listen to Mr. M's song as our reward...what a reward it was. i heard this song so much when i was five that i still remembered the words after all these years(33). Thanks for a blast of the past!!!

  • BEEN 17 YEARS SINCE I HEARD THIS. HAHAHA. CLASSIC.

  • I heard this in kindergarten I never forgot really didn't but we didn't have the video.

  • Mr. M was my favorite. I still remember this from 35 years ago.

  • I can't believe I remember this from Kindergarten 27 years ago. Wow!

  • Hello this is mgdoran123 on her new account and boy do I love Mr. M and my name Megan.

  • Hi Megan, I'm Mark! :D

  • Hi, it's Megan!

  • Wow! Since my first name started with the letter M my kindergarden teacher had me sing that song. That was back in 1982. Classic!

  • Great blast from the past!!! I loved this cartoon growing up, this was my little sister's favorite puppet people!!! OMG I so miss this era!! ♥♥~gigatt!!~♥♥

  • Mr. M's song is super groovy!! As a child of the 70's, I used to watch Letter People all the time. Mr. R's song was cool too. Shows like this made learning fun.

  • I learned more from these guys than Sesame Street

  • I stil lremember this song from 1st grade. WOW!!

  • My Kindergartner watched this today here in Bossier City Louisiana. too cute!

  • Kindergarden 1985 Normandy Village Elementary School in Jacksonville FL this what the record we begged our teacher to play. Damn its still just as funky as I remember it! lol man we are so old!

  • I last heard this song when i was in kindergarden in 1991 and I still remember the song. Wierd yet effective.

  • that makes me feel old

  • Wow I havent seen this in 23 years! Mr Munchie Mouth is the only one I ever remembered, his song was the illest!

  • Hell ya i totally agree. That was the only one that really stuck with me. It seems to be true with the rest of us too.

  • obviously he loves mushrooms

  • beautiful.

  • i remember that Mr M was the first letter person we learned about in Kindergarten (they did them out of order)...i remember the first few that we learned about to this day but dont remember the later ones. lolz

  • Omg he was the first one we learned in kindergarten too. Is there some reason they teach kids the letter M first?

  • his song was just the most catchy. lol... its amazing how the little pre schoolers in us still remember this stuff.

  • Dude, out of all the letter people Mr. M's the one I remember the most. Tall T is a close second. Wee used to start the day off singing one of these songs every morning in kindergarden, that was about 15 years ago for me.

  • ROFL!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe this...i didn't kno it had a video...i heard it on a record in kinder garden over 2 decades ago

  • o ya letter people was the shit back in the day!! just listen to mr m's pimp ass music!

  • Me too our teacher played in on a record player..I need it on my iphone now!

  • the puppeteer.

  • you go girl.

  • I really didn't like mr m

Even though i was raised in the new letter people era (in kindergarten 2001) and

THIS SONG FREAKED ME OUT!!!! cuz my teacher put it on max volume.... in fact, i believe i almost cried.. wait... i did. lolz

  • MS.ASS

  • I an 24 and loved this show when I was a kid.Kids programming used to rule. Now its well....if you ever see what kids watch today it makes me want to throw up.

  • THIS IS GREAT! I am 21 and watched this to learn to read. TV just seemed so much better then - racier and less politically correct, yes, but much more SOUL!

  • OHHHHHHHHSHIT!!!!!!!! WOW you just took my back to Kindergarden!!! Damn this beat was funky!! My teacher played this record for us.

  • I saw this show in reruns in 2nd grade. This and shining time station were my two favorite shows on tv 34. I'm 19, and yet I still love the theme song to this show.

  • OMG.. This brings back so many memories of Kindergatrten lol! We learned about the letter people and each of us even got a caset tape of the letter people songs and an activity book,I still have it somewhere XD And then they had a wedding for Mr M and Mrs. Q( I think that's right^^')With the inflatable letter people..Thanks for posting this!

  • is it me, or does Mr. M remind you of Joe Cocker?

  • I am 32 years old and am sing along with this!!!!

  • i learned this in Kindergarden!

  • I can't believe this is here! I used to watch these in kindergarten! I don't know why i didn't think to look these up, my mom heard about it on the radio and told me about the letter people and i didn't recognize it until he said i'm mr.M with a munchy mouth.

  • This song has been in my head since kindergarten 1974! I stumbled onto this by accident and can't believe I remebered it!:-)

  • 74? They were still playing it at my school in 85. Wow!

  • He seems different to me. I remember this stuff from when I was in kindergarten in '89 or '90 & could've swore M was something else.

  • in 1979 i was in kindergarten. i totally remember this song. my siblings and i all still know this song! frightening!

  • I remember this in kindergarden in 1976. We had the letter "teaching letter people" at Pinecrest Elementary in West Monroe, Louisiana.

  • best show ever!

  • I remember i had these on records. hahahaha

  • exactly!!! They were on vinyl before cassatte

  • yup

  • Yes it did. I remember sitting in on a few of the tapings as a child. Then they came to my school to help us present a musical of the Letter People in our library. I was Mr. T.

  • WOW! I remember these songs but we had them on tapes only in my Kindergarten class. Mr. M was the popular one! I'm 24 now so yea! LOL.

  • could any1 here imajin mr m in a hooded robe?

  • This dude hat the funkiest song on here!

  • So he only eats foods that start with the letter m? If he likes to eat so much, isn't that kind of limiting? Come to think of it, this guy is a Cookie Monster rip off!

  • wow i havent seen this since kindergarten and im 18 now and i still remember this song

  • Same here.

I was the kid who had both M last name and First name so I had to sing this song and I got the blow up toy.

    In only 15 though.

  • I'm pretty sure Mr. M would be considered gay if this aired today lol

  • lol

  • Does anyone know if this series is on DVD (legally)?

  • yup you can buy it on ebay i think i saw it there

  • yeah but those aren't the factory originals; they're burned.

  • ah ok

  • where else?

  • lol ya but it is rap lolz!

  • what dance is that at 1:26 -1:47?? lmfao!!

  • Looks like an early version of the Bankhead Bounce!!! I love it!!! LOL

  • wahahaha!

  • lmao!! rap!

  • & where did u hear this?

  • Holy Crap! Mr M tears it up via soul 70's era.

  • hahahah!

  • wow this brings back so many memories..i miss those days..mr m..always my favorite one!

  • ahaha ! i misss him ! he was my FAVORiTE , i was so sad in kindergarten when i saw them all deflated in the closet !

  • The M sound (mmm) is one of the very first sounds most children will make (for example: Mmmmm, MaMa). So to start with M and teaching children how to properly use the letter in words was practicle to teach children how to speak.

I wondered why because when i was in kindergarten i was contemplative about it as well... listen to a lot of children speak and you will hear the M sound come out.

  • he looks high as hell when he dances!

  • thats some pimp ass super fly old school music!!!

  • just how many speaking parts did mr m get? & what did his talking voice sound like?

  • Wow that was a flash back. It's been a LOT of years since i've seen these guys. Thanks for the flashback lol.

  • Meanwhile, not to be a pervert, but he loves to munch from morning to midnight? Hmmm....I think Lil' Kim referenced him in "How Many Licks"!

  • munching mouth, mr. m is a pimp in letter people land

  • Mr. M was the first letter we focused on in Kindergarten, and I remembered the first verse word for word even though I haven't heard the tune in 20+ years. Why we started with M and not A, I have no clue.

  • Because M is probably the easiest sound for kids to make. I'm willing to bet R was one of the last letters to be taught

  • The last 3, in order, were R, X, and Q.

  • Wow how Mr M. keeps talking about munchies and those dances I think he was using another M product...lol

  • o? & what was that?

  • Wow what a trip that brings back memories.

  • Mr. M's song was my favorite, and to this day I STILL remember it from way back when in kindergarten!

  • He looks like he could be related to the Count from Sesame Street.

  • o really? wel i'll b a c monky's uncle?

  • So this dude only eats and drinks things that starts with the letter M?He must be very unhealthy lol.

  • unhealthy? y?

  • Well you can't just have food that starts with a certain letter. You have to try different foods once in a while.

  • o. wel what if mr m went 2 a bar?

  • He'd get an alcaholic beveragre that begins with the letter M.

  • michelob

  • I thought that St. Louis, MO was the only place that got The Letter People because it was filmed there locally. Who knew that this show went across the nation!

  • 50Cent ain't got nothin on Mr. M!

  • Now he is gangsta!

  • Takes me back to when I was coming up! These young lil' whippersnappers nowadays don't know about this!

  • Thanks for the memories! It's great to see retro clips like these. I loved this back in the 70's when it aired on PBS along with other Sesame Street/Electric Company favorites.

  • I'm Mr. M/ I eat M&M's/ I listen to Eminem/ on MTV/ with my Auntie Em/ and the Divine Miss M

  • There is no crime in Letter People Land. Everyone obeys the letter of the law.

  • Which eliminates the need for Capital punishment.

  • M certainly isn't for "malnourished", in this case.

  • He's like Pac-Man with a receding hairline and disjointed arms.

I thought it was "munchING mouth." ???

  • This show was really cheap, but I loved it as a little kid!

  • Does Mr M remind anyone else of Bill Cosby, just a little bit? :D

  • Actually, I thought Audrey II from "Little Shop of Horrors" (the musical came after the Letter People came on the scene) sounded a little like Mr. M. In particular, Levi Stubbs' Audrey II sounded more like Mr. M than anyone else.

  • The more I think about it, he reminds me more of Cedric "The Entertainer".

  • LOL!!

  • Mr. M was the MAN!

  • Mr M FREAKED ME OUT when I was a kid!

  • i remember mr. m! my kindergarten teacher used to sit us all in front of the t.v. to watch it. we even had the huggables in our classroom. our school didn't have much money so they had to show us the 70s versions. the only other one i really remember is miss i. i always thought she looked kinda like a man.

  • wow i remember this from kindergarden

  • This was aired when I was in Kindergarten. They didn't have all the letters yet, but I remember Mr.M, which would have been in 1981.

  • That is just wrong! That character scared the crap out of me a kid, but now he still scares me! He's like a sicko, 70's porn looking, blue pimp!

  • If anyone is interested, I have every episode available for sale. I converted them onto DVD from old cassette tapes I purchased on eBay. Let me know!!

  • put them on youtube already!!

  • Mr. M was the one I remembered the most....

  • Ok, xylon! You rock! You MUST tell me where I can buy the whole series. I've been looking for it for years!!!

  • MisterM this one is my personal favorites

  • Man, this brings back memories. Mr.M was my favorite character. A lot of the foods that he mentioned he liked would be deemed too unhealthy now. Bring back the pre PC (POLITICALLY CORRECT) days.

  • I love the Letter People dance during the solos of their songs. Please post more. I'm dying to see some Super Socks or Funny Feet...or hell, how 'bout a full episode... with Nardo the Detective?

  • PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE...I'm looking desperately for Mr T Tall Teeth!

  • It would be heaven if someone could upload all of the letter people intros on here!

  • Unfortunately, three Letter People were deprived of songs on the series, and it's a damn shame because two of those three songs were two of my favorites (namely Mr. R and Mr. X). Mr. Q didn't get his song either.

  • my kindergarden education was based off of this show... cheers

  • Bring Back such nostalgia!

    Thank You!!

  • Hey, do you have Mr S?

    thanks posting these!

  • HELL YEAH!

    Best song in history.

"I slip... into my super socks... and suddenly... (dee dee dee dee deeee) I WAS A SUPERSONIC STREAK IN THE SKYYY!"

  • I love love love this! XLON! I think you're great! thanx!
