The nets are there to try to prevent fans throwing objects down onto fans below. Probably the most famous incident is when Inter Milan fans (in this stadium) stole a scooter from an Atalanta fan before the game, brought it into the upper tier, set fire to it and threw it onto the fans below. United fans used to be treated to bottles of wops' piss being thrown down onto us, in the days when they gave us the bottom tier.Ever worn wops' piss? Now they give us the top tier.

Superb video. Great content. Well edited. Not a dull moment. Captures the whole match day occasion, including the Reds marching from the stadium to the tune of "As the Reds go marching on..." Enjoyed the part where the wops are being saluted as they begin to sneak out at 3-1. This was one of the great Utd away trips. Comfortably the best Utd match day video I've seen posted. Could do with carrying this production crew around with us. Keep up the good work, mate.
