Yes, Medvedev relates to the word "bear", but I think Vostorgina01 means it as the Russian personification. The bear is used as a symbol of Russia. It was also used as a symbol for the Soviet Union, but as a "brutal" bear. My father attended the Moscow Olympics back in the day and I know he still has Misha stashed somewhere.
