If you are referring to Malcolm, he only wanted unity between the blacks, he believed by observing African countries gain independence by uniting together, that black people in America could gain liberty the same way by uniting together. He believed that before they could unite with white people, first and foremost black people had to be united themselves. His logic makes perfect sense.

But blacks have been able to make great strides in all areas.
