These arent real hammers, theyre just shitty american ones that last a decade. I have a hammer made in the 80s, AUSTRALIAN of course and it still is better than one of those carbon steel ones, mine is iron and steel.
I call BS. There's no way they waste time manually dipping those hammers in that lacquer nor would they apply a stick on every hammer by hand. BS, I tell you.
Estwing is still American made. I have a rock hammer by them. But it's bullshit how companies like apple put "Designed in California - Made in China". What the fuck
i'm surprised because a lot of companies get tax breaks and credit for moving their business overseas. Yeah, I agree with you on that, that's just stupid. Who cares about where it was design, we need jobs here in America. There's more I want to say but youtube comments allow so much lol
@BlackSGMan - I've often wondered who made the first hammer and anvil. At some point our ancestors started with bearskins and stone knives, moved to copper tools, then learned to make bronze and eventually smelted iron. A look at the migration from one technology to the next would be interesting.
I always wonder about the high amount of manual labor that is still done in the factories they show in these videos. So many of these steps could be automated (if you're doing a job a robot can do, you'Re doing something wrong).
So you say automation leads to poor quality? I don't know how factories for such videos are picked. But whenever I see videos of factories (or factories I've been to IRL) here in Germany, manual labor is mostly in quality control, all the rest is automated. You can say much about german products, but definitely not that they are bad quality.
@superdau I was NOT knocking GERMAN automation. I was knocking cheap chinese shit. German Steel is just about the best in the world. chinese steel on the other hand seems to be made out of used Jap beer cans. I am a professional sharpener. I have seen the quality differences between the different countries. I wish I could afford more German quality stuff. Thank You.
Oh man, Estwing make the best hammers and axes... lifetime warranty <3
My dad once found one in the woods with a chipped head thats obviously been used and abused... took it to home depot and traded it in for a brand spankin new one.
@boboriginal yeah dude if you notice the tumbler in both the axe vid that "thatsmynamedude" has it's the same company name "-bronco-" just you know no discrims. but pay attention to all the little details and you will always find doubles
Better check the label on those Estwing hammers at the store before you decide on one, they are starting to make some of them in China yet the price has not gone down. If it's Chinese I don't want it.
