@VIDEOZAL Lada Niva is also an old school. It is an off road legend in Europe and as like as Defender. There was a great French Lada team in Paris-Dakar rally in 80s. Niva was a pioneer of compact SUV class. Now the model is 40 years old and of course its uncompareable with the new vichles.

The BMW X5 is an excellent SAV/SUV, but it never was meant to go off road like we believe. Its more for snowy winter roads and things like that. It's designed too much for sportiness to be good off road. If you want to go off roading buy a Range Rover Supercharged, you won't regret it. Or if you are really insane and have a lot of cash buy a Holland & Holland/Overfinch Range Rover. Its even better.

@maxim159 I don't know what you mean by the X5 is just coming to market. They been around since the late 90s. And the range rovers ore excellent off-road. The rover has a nice smooth ride because its a luxury suv, think of it as the mercedes s-class of suvs. I've owned range rovers for the past decade and never had a problem with them and I live in the snowbelt area on the great lakes. I guess you just hate cars you can't afford and like to defend communistical cars.

Ну извините, не соглашусь. У него отменная управляемость, как и у всех БМВ впрочем. На нем отлично получается быстро и безопасно ездить по плохому разбитому асфальту, и просёлку, равно как и по трассе. А расход у трехлитрового Х5 13 литров. Как и у Нивки в среднем.

Возможно в пробках на нём и плохо. Но у нас, в провинции движение не такое плотное, а дороги значительно хуже, чем в столице. Я бы в принципе мог бы позволить себе его купить, 3-5 годовалый. Но почитав отзывы, не стал. Крайне дорог в обслуге, даже по сравнению с другими БМВ...

И купил себе Шниву, новую. Полгода езжу, очень доволен. За эти деньги отличное авто. И на работу и на охоту и на рыбалку всегда и везде. И комфорт на уровне. Конечно не Бумер, зато очень дешево, а я себя к олигархам не отношу!))) Плюс оставлять у подъезда на ночь не страшно....
