That wasn't just Press Your Luck but that was also The Joker's Wild, Tic Tac Dough, $25,000 Pyramid, Scrabble, $ale of the Century, etc. GSN needs to do it that way again. When GSN started they aired everything except ticket/contestant plugs but that was tollerable. Credit Crunches and cutting before the credits are done will never be tollerated. FIX IT GSN!!!
Ain't that the truth. I wish I could have gone back in time and got in control of some syndication firm so I could pick up Press. But then again, I might get swept up trying to keep Dukakis out of that tank.
Absolutely right! To this day, it's my favorite game show, and Peter Tomarken is right up there with Bob Barker as a host, but I think Bob had better chemistry with Rod Roddy.
@RingtailStudios I urge you to Google S2X's episode guide which was partly created based on Jason Hernandez's detailed guide, which must be found via the Wayback Machine. Both of which I consider to be highly reliable sources. Unfortunately I'm unable to post those links here.
USA usually did edit out ticket/contestant plugs from this show, while IIRC on other shows they used to leave them in.

I thought Rod went to Thailand for his wardrobe.

@quiznationrules
I believe that was true when he was announcing on the Price is Right.

No, it wasnt. The episode you are refering to, the slides blew during the game, not at the end of the game.

GSN has not yet aired the Finale episode, and also GSN has not yet aired the Series premiere episode.
pricefan87 3 years ago 2
They haven't aired any 1983 or any 1986 episodes, for that matter.
Hondo20132 3 years ago 5
yes, but hey, PYL gave us excitement, Larson mainly, spin battles.
nextbarker 3 years ago 2
Do you have anymore PYL episodes? from 1983, perferably
nextbarker 3 years ago
This was the final episode, was it not?
nextbarker 3 years ago 2
Yes, it was.
CJBojangles 3 years ago
Such a shame, PYL deserved to be on much later than three years.
btn2271984 3 years ago 23
Agreed. Its life on USA is proof the show could of lasted much longer than it did.
PYLrulz1984 3 years ago 7
And USA knew how to show it by showing the departing contestant ads and credits - GSN is an insult to Rod Roddy's work!

@PYLrulz1984 I'd of LOVED to have seen PYL in the 1990s!!!! It could have made it much longer! Such a shame!

Which in turn was based on Brian Dominy and David Hammett's original episode guide.
