  • Terasa Teng indeed is a stunt, I admire her as the top singer so far. The conversation appeased lots of us. I actually contemplated every details in the concert, and I was aware of one song left behind to the end. She eventually turned up to fix it after the end of this concert. eternal love to her. Cheers

  • Thanks you very much. This video is excellent. The voice of Teresa Teng is uncomparable.I heard the local version of these tune in Myanmar language around 1973. I like so much.I appreciate your effort.Only in 2004, I aware that these are her songs.

  • In the early eighties (1982) I heard Teresa Teng in Malaysia during a visit singing on the television and since that time till now I have never heard another voice singing

that well with so much innerfeeling,i am from Holland myself and thanks to Youtube we can all still see liveshows, thanks TTLC for posting the concert,Mike J.Phillips

  • @phillfeit

Thank you, Mike, for such encouraging words. I'm Malaysian. Teresa started singing as a child, in the 60's in Taiwan. Her fame reached the rest of Asia in the 70's. In the 80's she had become an international superstar and The Asia Magazine credited her for "uniting Asians" where politicians failed. There is so much I can say about her, but words fail me so I worked on this channel to bring her most well-known concert to English-speaking fans.

    Glad to hear from u!

    Jeremy

  • Yes i like that very much,Deng Li-Yun ,,,wow..

    Thank you ...Love Fr.Finland

  • She is so cute. I miss her & the world also.

  • JEREMY, Pls stand up, and take a bow!

What a wonderful job you've done - uploading the concert in its entirety AND translating the whole shebang (even including the two classic Chinese poems, which itself wouldn't be a small task) into English as subtitles! Marvelous indeed.

I take my hat off to you.

I just hope you realize how invaluable your work means for many people who -including me - have never seen (or known of) this concert before and /or do not understand some of the dialects.

  • Thank you, that is very encouraging. I really wanted my friends here on youtube, who are not fluent in Chinese, to be able to enjoy the concert.

I'm glad you have found this helpful.

    Thank you and God bless!

  • just wanna comment, i guess you did not include the song "中華民國頌" right?

  • No, my dear friend. It was missing from my video CD disc but is in my DVD collection. Since I could only upload from VCD, I had to omit that. Sorry.

  • very well done, you should get a medal

  • Thank you! I appreciate that!

  • How can u not luv/like her?? She is like the girl next door. Very down to earth. Makes u feel right at home. Thanks for the upload. I enjoyed it (the whole concert ) in one sitting.

  • No, we can't! When I was a kid, everyone in the neighbourhood where I lived, loved her. When I was in University, all my close friends loved her! When I started working, everyone I worked with, loved her. Welcome! And thank YOU! All your comments have been encouraging!

  • Thank you for posting this great video. I just came back from Taiwan and went past the concert hall in the video. The translations are so nice, to be able to understand what everyone's saying. What a fantastic singer she was and a wonderful person.

  • Hi, there, again, Georgia275, I'm glad you found your way here to this channel which is dedicated to Teresa's Live Concert. Well, the 1984 Taipei Concert is complete. I might continue with some other concert. This is my favourite, though, just as the NHK, Tokyo Live Concert is.

    Do keep in touch!

    Thanks!

    Jeremy

  • thank you brother.

  • welcome, sister.

    Happy Easter!

  • Beautiful TT and enchanting song, as always. The video with captions is very nice. Thanks for sharing.

  • Welcome. I'm glad you like it. :-))

  • Correction: There're 2 oft quoted "sayings." In the 80's when Deng ruled China as political leader, Teresa ruled their hearts. People said, "In the day time we listen to Big Deng (Deng Xiao Peng,) but at night, we listen to Little Deng (Teresa or Deng i-Jun.)"And, "Wherever there is a Chinese community, there, you will hear Teresa's singing." I grew up hearing her voice everyday on the radio, seeing her pix in dailiess and mags. She was part of my life.

  • To correct this, before Mao dead all the HK or Taiwain movies and songs banned in China. During late 70's and early 80', there was transition period. When Big Deng back power at year 82, almost all the HK and Taiwain songs were allowed to sell at Market include Xiao Deng's. Most HK singers come back China freely as they wish, Xiao Deng chose not to...It was her choice. But it was TRUE, Xiao Deng was popular than Big Deng-:)

  • Thank you for this info.

  • I must confess that I had never heard of Teresa Teng until I saw this clip. I have just read up on her. Such a shame that a beautiful and talented life was cut so short.

  • Thank you for sharing. I hope you will enjoy the rest of Teresa Songs. :-))

  • Dear Jeremy, I should like to add my thanks to those that you have already most deservedly received. This has been a splendid effort. Maybe one day you could perform a similar service with one of her other concerts where she speaks a lot. You see we fans are never satisfied and can never get enough of Teresa. In the meantime many thanks to you once again.

  • Thank you, Bernard. It is always a pleasure to hear from you. Remember you did ask me to help you understand more of what she says from this concert? That was what gave me the idea for this effort. This also happens to be the concert I watched more times than ever. The other concert I watch often is the one recorded live in NHK, Tokyo. I do wish I could understand more of the songs and spoken words! :-)) You are most welcome and I know many would enjoy it too, as much as I did.

  • Great song and great performance. Always a classic. Thanks for sharing - mbf

  • Yes! She's the best! Thank you for sharing with us!

  • I join hkship fo compliment you for the fanstastic sacrifice put up for the series which to me is thus far the best concert series on Teresa Teng which is accompanied by the superb translation in all the series. Your uploads deserve very high ratings. Thank You again for the uploads which virtually make TT come alive to TT fans while watching the videos:)

  • Thank you very much for such encouragement! If it is a sacrifice at all, which it is not really as I enjoy doing it, it is well worth the effort to hear from you! Thanky YOU for your comments! and welcome!

  • Thank you for the great effort in loading. TT had her uniqueness of beauty, charmed, enchanting and angelic vocal. Her songs still lives today and still popular, must not forget the credit of her great and loyal fans she had.

  • Those days, every Chinese home in Malaysia have at least one of her cassettes or records! :-) People said, "Wherever there is a Chinese population, there, you will hear her voice!" Certainly no exaggeration, but rather an understatement! Thank you, May, for visiting!

  • Hi, David, I'm really glad to hear from you again! Look forward to working together with you too! Thanks for the appreciation!

  • THANK YOU Jeremy for your kind consideration!! I hope we work together & bring Her life story to the English speaking world too. My idea's to first compile all the VERY brief English biographies of her life (none more than two pages long) & gather all the information I can on my own. Next, I'll be in Taiwan in July looking for those who can give me more in depth facts on her life. Lastly, I dearly hope to bother you for help translating more details of her life in English, please. bye! David

  • This is very good news. Look forward to watching this upcoming website. Thank you to both for your dedicated efforts.

  • Hi Jeremy, So valued & appreciated. You've performed a great service for Ms. Deng's English only fans, those like me, & it seems you've earned your own little fan base too! Certainly I 'm a big fan & friend & very thankful. Jeremy, this summer I will create a new English website devoted to her, the largest on the Web in English. If possible, I wish to ask for a little help creating her best biography in English for the site. Now is so very little about her in English. I hope do together, bye!

  • Very interested to hear of your plans to create a new Teresa Teng website. Do please keep me informed. Many thanks.

  • Thank you Jeremy for all your work, these translations to english are very much appreciated. They bring much additional joy to Teresa's fans such as myself.

Thank you Thank you Thank you !

  • Welcome, welcome, welcome. Sometimes, it was difficult to hear what they were saying over the loud music or the mike was a bit too far from their lips when they were moving around. For some segments, I had to play a phrase over and over. It's worthwhile as long as someone somewhere finds it helpful!

  • Thanks for visiting! Her singing reveals her talent while her dialogue reveals her personality! She's adorable indeed!

  • Welcome! Thank you for visiting! She's adorable! There's no doubt about that, endearing herself to many generations of people all over the world.
