  • Thanks for demonstrating

  • @extremeworkout305 I have another wet sanding video that I recently uploaded using a Lamborghini that you may want to check out.

  • I bought the car certified pre-owned. The overspray must have been there for a year because it's impossible to remove. I'm using a clay bar from Mother's...so yes, it's only consumer grade. Damn! Looks like I'm gonna be stuck with it. I ain't about to drop $1500 on a repaint. I'm thinking of buying a cheap hood from a junk yard and playing around with it. This way, it won't matter if I mess it up! Thanks again for the great vids.

  • What about sun oxidation on the roof? Wet sand or no?

  • @theciskokidd You never wet sand unless you are removing a deep scratch or orange peel. The thing is, you have to know when a scratch is too deep to remove or when there is not enough clear coat on the car to be trying to remove orange peel. That takes experience. Wet sanding is WAY more aggressive than using a rotary and some serious cutting polish. Thus, you only use it when necessary. There is only so much clear coat on the car and once you remove it, you're screwed and looking at a repaint.

  • @theciskokidd This is why I stress the importance of a good paint thickness gauge. It keeps you from screwing yourself. I like the Positector 200 Advanced B or C series (depending on what your car is made out of), by Defelsko

  • I really enjoyed watching this entire wet sanding series. I just bought a pre-owned car and discovered that I have paint overspray that has bonded to the clear (claying didn't remove it). The next step is to try wet sanding. I might go to the junkyard and buy a cheap door and practice on that first! How about a video on overspray? :-)

  • @briansoohoo I have never seen over-spray that claying could not remove. You did not clay hard enough. You have to "put your butt in it" as my father would say. If you clay hard enough, the over-spray can be removed. Wet sanding is NOT used to remove over-spray. That is way too aggressive of a tactic to remove over-spray.

"Putt your butt in it son!"

  • @Junkman2000 If I put anymore butt into it, I'd be dentin' the body! LOL! The auto body guy said that if the overspray was on too long, it would bond to the clear..which would make it impossible to remove. I believe what you said that they won't put any real effort in. I'll shoot a quick video to show you what I'm talking about. The overspray sits tall and I'm afraid to overclay! I saw video from a detailer who used a carbon-edged razor to scrape off the over-spray. Ever try a razor?

  • @briansoohoo The razor idea I have heard of but is NOT something that I would recommend. You remove a lot of clear coat doing that. So just how long has this over-spray been on the car? If we are talking about a year, then don't waste your time. Stuff like over-spray needs to be addressed ASAP. As for clay, it comes in different "grits". The stuff you have is most likely consumer grade clay and try as you might, you are not going to "over-clay" anything with that stuff. It's too soft.

  • 3000 gets rid of directional wetsanding lines...stuffs amazing

  • @Frets0nFirePhenom You're welcome sir, thanks for watching!

  • Your videos are superb, such a cool character. I'm going to have a go at this on my brother's car while he's on holiday.

  • @Smeds101 Thank you and thanks for watching!

  • Best detailed Video ever..... and funny too! Thank you

  • @fayezshehab Thank you sir!

  • thank you so much for the video i never wet sanded befor and i just wanted to see what wet sending duz to a car i seen videos on you tube but i wasnt really getting it cuz most of them wet sand there car after they paint it i didnt know you can wet sand a car even if it wasnt painted to still take out the scratches and still get that shine im going to do it to my car and pick me up some of that Adams stuff cuz it looks like it really duzz work ..

  • @jaysoniiice69 Well remember, what I do in the videos makes it look a LOT simpler than it actually is. I highly advise against you trying this on a car you care about as it could go very badly. Most likely it will.

  • is there a reason u dont use any kind of compound wit the d/a, just the swirl and haze remover? also, i'm thinkin bout pickin up one of those PC's. im tryin to keep costs down... which pads would u recommend me gettin wit it?

  • @thefitziestofgeralds Swirl & Haze Remover is a compound OR polish. They are one in the same as far as I'm concerned. Only wax is different. As for pads, I would get the same pads that I'm using in these videos. They are all you need.

  • @Junkman2000 preciate u clearing that up. i've done some wet sanding before at the detail shop i used to work at but i've never had someone explain it to me as well as u did. ur videos are awesome, wish i would have came across them sooner!

  • @thefitziestofgeralds No problem. Thanks for watching.

  • great vid as always

  • 80 bucks!!!!???? way way too expensive, coulda bought a bunch of other stuff

  • @bingbong609

    I agree!

  • wow

  • nice videos. thank you!

  • i was watching a video y meguiars about the sanding disks and they said something interesting. 2000 grit sandpaper on a DA sander is comparable to 3000 wetsanding, so 3000 grit on a DA has almost no cut. Just thought that was interesting.

  • I don't know about that. It sounds like you may have it reversed.

  • hey thanx gonna give it a try tomorrow
