No problem! the good news is that we offer both types of transplantation, FUE and linear-trichophytic. In fact, the new Neograft device allows us to harvest many more follicles via FUE than before. It's truly an excellent improvement.
hmmmm... i'm not bald. But this still intersests me. When they remove the hair follicle from one area the hair will not grow back at that particular spot right? Sorry if i'm being ignorant here.
Hair transplantation redistributes (moves) the hair follicles from one place to another. With FUE, you can remove a lot of hair follicles, but it does not change the appearance of the donor area.
It wont grow back, but they remove hair from all over the place on the back and sides so even if you get a short haircut, 2 cm or longer you would never know, for sure not see a scar. I'm getting my hair done with Dr. Bauman. They use the new NeoGraft Machine makes things go by quick they can easily do 2000 or more graphs in a single day
@davedaddy101 take it from some one who had both FUE and strip done, strip is the best way to go. half my FUE hair survive during the transplant. 95% of my strip hair survive and is now growing well. given the choice, i would choose strip over FUE.
@hanielroswell1981 just had a question....does the strip area heal quickly and what marks are left behind.....also i always wondered whn they take the strip and then stich the area doesnt it mean the stiched area will be stretched around as they now have to cover the area that has been taken off......how does it end up....i mean any physical chnge like tighter skin or any side effect....please let me know...i look foward to ur reply
Intercytex reports that they've suspended clinical studies, pending 'large corporate support' I am assuming, like many, that the hair follicles they were able to multiply didn't seem promising. The good news is that with early detection (genetic testing) and early intervention (finasteride) most will NOT need to rely on multiplied hairs. Research shows the average patient requires only 2 sessions of linear harvesting to reach their goals. Sincerely, Dr. Alan Bauman, Bauman Medical Group.
Actually, because of the demand (if the treatment is viable) I believe board certified hair restoration physicians, like myself, will be quite busy administering this treatment to those that need it.
side affects are permanent, Ive seen it where people have permanent erectile dysfunction after using it for over 10 years. There are loads of other side affects too. Shit drug basically, you have to take it all your life and you get alot more side affects than you get in benefit
That isn't really true. Those side effects are very uncommon (less than 1 in a 100), and usually stop if you stop taking Propecia. I'm not saying that the people you know didn't experience the side effects, but they are by far the exception.
Dr. Bauman, since FUE has its fair share of disadvantages, when do you predict the genetic technology to advance to a stage where it will produce endless ammounts of donor hair in a laboratory?
Has anyone had or knows anyone who has had the Follicular Unit Extraction? does it actually work ? and is there any age limits?

Good for you mate, some men are just fine but some are understandably in want of maintaining the best they can, a personal choice for each man.

Hell no!!! Id rather get less hair and do FUE, than to have my scalp sliced into. Sorry doc. I love your work, but no scalpels and stitches for me!

Side effects from (propecia) finasteride are quite rare and are not permanent.
