Tom Wise was elected as a UKIP MEP in 2004 and was their official spokesman on Culture, Youth, Media and Sport. He was expelled from the party only after the Daily Telegraph ran an expose claiming he committed fraud. He was charged with fraud and money laundering this April, and is awaiting trial.

They do come together on issues, but Libertas always formed the "Democracy" part, while UKIP formed the "Independance" part. The European Union is not the scary super-state that opponents make it out to be (almost always with no evidence to back their claims up) and even if you oppose European Integration, the EU Parliament is a daft place to try to do so as treaties and changes to the EU are made not by the parliament but by national governments. If you want to oppose the EU, the best place to do so is the UK parliament.

Ashley mote WAS elected as a UKIP MEP. The fact that he was booted out immediately after the election is neither here nor there - nearly three hundred thousand people voted for him on the UKIP ticket. He is STILL an MEP, voted in on the UKIP vote.

As for Tom Wise, the UKIP activists commenting here are either lying or misinformed. Tom Wise was NEVER thrown out of UKIP. He allowed his membership to expire in March this year, and remained a UKIP member until that time.

There are 646 MPs and if we look just at expenses then the average MP will have claimed, in a decade (at current rates) nearly £1.6 million. Obviously a Euro MEP average will be a little more than that with travel. We have fought and fought for us to leave the EU, the only party to do so, and with out policy we would save the taxpayer Billions.

1. Ashley Mote was convicted of a fraud unrelated to the EU that UKIP knew nothing about. Mote never took his seat as a UKIP MEP.

2. Neither Wise or Jenkins have been convicted of any crime. In Britain we do not operate the Corpus Jurus approach that clearly Libertas want. Wise was expelled from the UKIPEU group 3 years ago before the article. But has already been exonerated by the EU.

3. Titford committed no crime Essex Police say so.
