MY GOD @ LookingForMyLife has given the whole band members, guests and set lists! My frustration level has fallen to yellow! Thank you x10 or 20!
George looks SO happy and bouncy here as opposed to so many live performances where he looks like he would rather be anywhere but in front of thousands of people...not that he doesn't always give a pro, inspired performance and give the audience all his excellent friends!
I miss George and John both. I think that it isn't fair that either of them died. One of a horrible disease and the other murdered in cold blood. I truly miss those years when the Beatles were together but I think each of them were fabulous on their own as well.
@rdshultz47 ...but thank god George doesn't have to see the horrible state of the world now, not that I would want him gone even for that. If he was here he would be working to help distressed people as much as he could, without a doubt. It's unlikely Paul would join in, did he ever come when George asked him? Just saying'. Ringo, he wouldn't start something to help but he would support George, as always.
Miss him being present on the planet and jealous of wherever he is now. :' (
My dad was in the 2nd row in the Peter Frampton concert, George Harrison played i believe lead guitar. (This was before I was even alive just to make that clear.) But my dad tossed blunts on stage in a bag at George Harrison's feet, and he kick them over by the amp so no one would see. and George Harrison said thanks boys. they took a break, and came back one of them said (on stage!) "and a hint of hash i see"! With George Harrison smiling! I swear i could never be more jealous of my dad!
i thought you filmed this :P but then i read your comment saying its from a dvd, still its pretty epic i wish i could of seen him live but i was too young when he died
In honor of Ringo's 70th, I hope U will check out my "RINGO"video. It's very retro with Beatleish touches & was done as a labor of love and with the utmost respect for the Fabs. My attempt at putting a little bit of the Beatle spirit out there for Beatle fans. It's also my tribute to George Harrison's slide playing as well as Ringo's unique style.
George was such an amazing person- quiet enough and willing enough to work unappreciated in the Beatles writing a few songs only but those few Beatles songs were all some of the best ones, then after the breakup he worked with Jon and Ringo helping them, then finally got chance to prove he was an amazing guitarist of all types of guitars especially slide guitar solos, influencing people like Eric Clapton, and using his music to teach the world many things
They are playing the song a little fast, but awesome none the less. George was the first Beatle to have a solo number one hit, and the last Beatle (with this song) to have a number one. With all due respect to Paul & Ringo who are still making music, that record will NEVER be broken.
underrated genious. i think his compositions were better than paul's or john's. his few composition in the beatles got chosen n1 in charts when paul and john started doing shit in the white album and sgt pepper. we miss you george.
@NoirFan01 Nice thing about live music is that it isn't like sitting at home listening to the original recording (unless the original was a great live recording naturally).
It is a live human performing. No digital corrections. No overdubbing or multi-tracking. Live humans playing music.
@harlon57 I think you misunderstand what I wrote. I've nothing against this live version. But, George covered a version of the song originally recorded by Ray James in 1962. I prefer the original Ray James version to George's.
@harlon57 I only knew the Ray James version because there used to be a Sunday morning radio show called "Rock-n-Roll Roots" hosted by dj Bob Stroud. He played the Ray James version one time.
Hey LookingForMyLife, you are a true Harrison fan!!! Great "unknown" tune by George, eh? Please check out and comment on my reworking of George's demo of "Window Window". I tried to do him justice adding two acoustics, drums, bass, three electrics, strings, piano, and organ in my home studio (kinda my personal Free As A Bird). Love ya George!!
thank yooou !!! i love yhis song!!!

I agree..but Harriosn didnt writ ethis song. It was a top 40 hit by James Ray in 1962
rbound827 2 years ago
rbound:
James Ray didn't write it either:
"Got My Mind Set on You" is a song written by Rudy Clark and originally recorded by James Ray in 1962.
