good video, let me help you here:

first the chords for the bridge ( with the capo) are A min (2 measures) G (maj) and D(maj) and C on "dream".

For the rhythm you need to understand one thing: it's a 6/8 structure; count 1 2 3 4 5 6 with an accent on 1 and 4 like when she sings you (1) are (4) it sways a little.

then your rhythm can become D DUDUD

where the last D is the first of the next sequence D DUDU(D DUDU)D DUDUD..

and the count is 1 2 and 3 and 4

yeah you really do. i don't really know another way. That's strange you're getting a weird sound. Are you sure you have it holding the strings down completely, the way you described it seems like the pencil may just be muting the strings. I personally have never made a capo, but I have heard that it works. I've never heard of there being any problems with it. I hope you get it working. Let me know if you figure it out.
