I went to Pearl Jam 20 and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. The story in this film really lets you feel the emotional connection with the band that is projected out to the fans.
I wasn't much of a Pearl Jam fan before, but I'm converted now. I own Ten and Vitalogy, which I love, and their VH1 storytellers show was great, but I was always more of a Nirvana guy. Seeing how much passion and integrity they have, especially Eddie, it's a damn shame he got so much shit for being "too commercial". If Kurt had lived, he would've seen Eddie's integrity. The guy's the real deal. Thanks so much for posting this.
@pape37 A lot of what Pearl Jam did, most people didn't get it. The Bottom line is they did things their way, the way they felt things were right. Whether it was commercially or politically right or wrong, It's worked out for them. I grew up listening to them and watching them change into the artists they are today and even after 20 years of listening to them i still find myself inspired by their music. Thank You PJ and Thank you Cameron Crowe for making this movie!
@MrSoullicker and why do you think they did that or let their management/label company to do it(whatever you like) in 2009?for more money, fame why?in your opinion?
@skropomakos9 don't know, perhaps to promote their backspacer album, making some money, my point is they never did that before and they were against doing things like that for years, thats why they didn't make videos
@MrSoullicker they have lots of money since Ten and even more from the many other albums and concerts, they don't care to promote anything we're talking about a band that had a debut hit record and still changed their sound(Vs) which was again successful and again changed it(Vitalogy)which was still successful and then released No Code and Yield which were relatively noncommercial.Few band have the ethics of Pearl Jam my friend, and if you want i'll tell you why they did it.
@MrSoullicker and i just told you that they don't need the money and have proven that they aren't sellouts, have you ever thought that they play music not only for 30yr old and something people but they also want to reach out today kids(who listen justin bieber)and don't know shit about this kind of music but relate to itunes, an other reason is that they are along time together and needed something with energy and aggressiveness ,music evolves and so does Pearl Jam..
@abyssjordison you're so misguided and blind (LoL),bands like silverchair are sellouts Pearl Jam still play Pe4arl Jam music,But ok we'll do it your way i'll send them an email telling them to stop doing that and leave today's young kids alone(and not to try and reach them) to listen justin bieber and green day..your welcome..
@MrSoullicker All bands want to make money. Even Pearl Jam. But are they sellouts for this? Don't be silly. Great bands stand the test of time and PJ have done that whether you like them or not who f cares?
@MrSoullicker they were never anything else but sellouts from the beginning. they replaced andy wood within months of his death.months! they were gonna reach the top no matter what they had to sacrafice to get there.vedder just got lucky.he would have never made it otherwise, lets be honest.
3:34 Isnt that Neil Young in the picture? It lloks like him, maybe they were just flashing names, and the picture and the name wasnt ment to be nsync.
