Please note however, it's possible that if the cacher who planted that one really was dumb enough to put it in a cemetary, that the first geocacher with half a brain who came along and found it would have immediately removed it. Check the logs on the site to see if that's the case.
Check around the perimeter of the cemetary. 1) The name of the cache is "the edge of death" implying it's at the edge of the cemetary, and 2) most geocachers aren't fucking STUPID ENOUGH to put a cache INSIDE a cemetary. Yes it's open to the public and not trespassing or illegal, but it's still disrespectful. Common sense suggests, then, that the cache is not going to be on the cemetary grounds. Of course, there are exceptions to every rule: It's quite possible this was planted by an idiot.
Car gps are horrid when it comes to walking. Check the woods beyond the grave, the last 12 feet or do are usually off, not all the time though. Just depends on your signal.
Hey, I saw you were using a Garmin Nuvi. What model Nuvi are you using? My current Car GPS doesn't work, but my friend has a Nuvi, and my hiking GPS broke.
Actually, if you go to the geocaching site they specifically request that we don't put cache's in graveyards without prior consent. None of us have any idea if the person that put it there had consent or not. Probably not though. People, mind your manners while doing this, please. It only takes a few idiots to ruin it for everyone. Don't think for a second that laws won't go into effect. It's already happened in a few states.
HappyToBeWell, Geo caches are placed all over the world in cemeteries. Ignore these comments. You got the cache from geocaching website. They're cool with it, and so am I.
@happytobewell I agree with you, it isn't wrong to geocache in a cemetery as long as you don't dig or crap on the graves or something. On the downside, I would recommend a better GPS for geocaching. Hope you found it.
yOu knOw what'S wOrSe than walking over dead peopleS graveS..?
peOple commenting On hOw bad it iS.. Geocaching is dOne in cemeteries.. it'S done everywhere.. we reSpect the plOtS.. Some of you make it sOund as if we went geocaching in the cemetery with shOvels.. eff you people!
dude, cemetary caches do not mean you can walk over graves and mess with the markers. Nobody puts caches in a place that would make you disrespect property so don't disrespect property while looking. you fucking idiot. you give all cachers a bad name.
Research what a "bison tube" is. Look at pics. The best way I can describe them is that they are small pill type of containers made out of metal about an inch or so high and about half an inch thick or small. They have a small keychain loop at the top of them. They can fit like 2 pills in them. So it's going to be a very tiny micro. In cemeteries, I have found them on the fences that surround the area or in a tiny crack in a nearby tree. Get a handheld GPS too. One made for trails. keep caching!
@ndavid27 most geocachers are very respectful and don't mess with things that shouldn't be messed with. that's also why there are clues, that way you don't mess up anything.
