  • Am I the only one who can't believe this cat spent $800 bucks on a Crucial 256 in 2010 . Congratulations sweetheart you just won a Apple sticker and a Alien-ware sticker for the side of that black money pit. Stop timing your computer and get your homework finished or I swear to god Jr. I won't let Big Daddy take you to the Clan meeting this weekend.

  • Switch the monitor plug into the other jack for seeing the POST.

  • 2x Intel Xeon 6 core cpu

    32 GB's of ram

    2x GTX 580's and GTX 570(PhysX)

    1x 512gb SSD

    Boot time: 28.64 Seconds

  • @sniper77shot sum rig!!

  • The problem is the BIOS itself. It's not that he had wrong/outdated/crappy version, it's just that the underlying architecture of a BIOS is well over 30 years old now. We have just been bandaging them to work with modern technology (Pretty terribly I might add). The way a BIOS has to pre-load patched hardware files is really slow.

I guarantee if he took this exact setup and dropped it in a comparable motherboard with EUFI instead of BIOS that it would have insanely fast boot times.

  • lol I have a 64GB version and its way faster. This is like trolling Crucial because its not a precise load time. Before you make a video be 100% sure that the drivers and everything are setup right.

  • The real problem is windows itself. I don't want to sound like a linux fanboy but ohh boy that shit loads stupid fast. Load times under 10 seconds after Bios no problems at all. Windows is just very inefficient and bloated.

  • OH MY BAD AND THE BOOT TIME WAS 1;17.66

AND THE SHUT DOWN TIME WAS 11.6 SEC

  • WOW i didnt realize my comp was that slow at startup aint much slower than yours and slower hardware specs as Follows

  • where's the updated video? its been over a year now!

  • ALSO: implying that Hard Drives are ONLY for start ups....

  • Implying that Hard Drives are ONLY made for booting windows...

  • did you enable TRIM in the comand prompt using cmd.

  • I've checked the comments, what is the problem and how do you fix a slow bios screen? Mine does the same thing, blank for the first 10-15 seconds.

  • fail pc

  • What power supply do you use?

  • kk I dont use SSD but.... my comp is fast in generall I score 7.8 on everything except for my hard drive that scores only 5.9..... I just got windows 7 installed it today and it wasnt a difference in booting time versus vista that I had before... it takes fucking 1.50 minutes for my comp to start up to windows I dont get it -_-

  • On my Dell Inspiron 9400 with a Hitachi 7k320-320.

from the same time as this video was uploaded i get 19 seconds to desktop 8 or so seconds for bios. i do use Ubuntu so i dont know how to compair it with Win or if it even can be compaired.

  • i got a 64GB OCZ agility and my boot up time was with HDD 48sek and with SSD 19sek .. so i think u made something wrong

  • Hey man-I think I know your problem. I'm running sata ONE and went from 90 secs to 60 second bootup. You need to CLONE your SSD from your hdd. Youre running two different installs dude-obviously the new ssdinstall is "bad". I used Apricorn EZ upgrade. There are thousands of variables between two different installs dude.

  • If you are running Sata 3 ssd's like the crucial it will help to have a mobo with Sata 3 ports. Also make sure for the sata drives you have AHCI cut on in the bios for those drives. Both of these will help with your boot times.

    Running AMD x6 1100T, 16gb Corsair ram, ATI 6950, crucial ssd 128gb on gigabyte 880 With Win7 Ultimate 64

    Boot Time: 15secs

  • Sorry dude I have the same drive and I've restarted in way less time than that.....something is hanging......

I've had 10 seconds or less from hitting the button to I'm on my desktop I would say 7-8 second to be honest just timed it....I would look for a Bios update after going through it to make sure something isn't messed up.

    Running amd x6, 4gb 1600 Ram, crucial ssd on a, MSI 880

    Good luck

  • is that a power protection next to your rig

  • id like to know if you have had any different results with this drive recently

  • oh wow, 800 dollars, just bought a 128gb crucial for 200

  • my 128gb c300 on a gigabyte board is almost as slow as yours... 46.8 including the bios. what did you do to fix it? u sold it?

  • Sry, 13 sec boot withuot bois and about 20 with Bios :)

  • 25 with Bios, Asus G73, i7 720qm 7200rps. Gonna upgrade to SSD later.

  • Sorry, I rechecked and my result was 24 secs :)

  • I have a DV7 laptop too with AMD Phenom II x3 830 CPU and I boot in 26 seconds.

You have strange results, check if the Fast Boot is turned on in BIOS menu.

  • Really? I have a HP DV7 laptop x64 w7 with Ati 5650 gfx 4gb 1333 ram factory drive 7200 rpm

Dude I boot in 27 seconds!!!! I think you have issues!!

  • lol my p67a-gd45 + 2500k + 1600ddr + ocz vertex 2 boots from power button to the home screen in windows in 15 seconds. You jelly?

  • Thats some crappy bios I would find update or get new motherboard and make sure new board has sata 6 you can obviously afford it if you have you bought $850 ssd or you could just buy a Western Digital Raptor they work well also

  • 18sec with my alienware m17x-r2.

    i7 940qm , 8gb ram. win7 ult 64bit.

  • 1:03 secods on my comp,

    windows 7 32 bit

    AMD triple core 1.91 ghz

    2 gb ram

  • I usually get all my performance info and benchmarks for hard drives and SSD's at WhatPost

  • 1:15 secs on my netbook win7 Acer 533. stock 5400r pm drive

  • Same timing process. 46 sec boot windows 7 x64 on Samsung F3 7200rpm E8400 cpu and Gigabyte P35

  • You cant bitch at the drives performance if you dont use what its made for SATA 3 bro common you were paying 800$ for a sata 3 ssd not to use it on Sata2

  • @MrSeraphax Read the comments, before you make a comment. Thx. Furthermore, the long startup time is due to BIOS, not performance of the drive that is also in the comments.

  • @Trubyd44 "Read the comments, before you make a comment."

There are a LOT of comments. No one is going to read through 25 pages of comments before commenting. However, many read the video description (at least I do) before commenting. This would be a good place to update your findings of the BIOS slowing the boot (the video description makes no mention of this).

Thanks for taking the time and doing this comparison!

  • @cocacola443 Ok, fair enough...I've just been swamped...but for people that are truly interested a quick scan of the comments has many, many answers.

  • Youve got wrong bios set up chap

  • @Phen0mable Nope...read the other comments before coming to a very wrong conclusion, chap.

  • I got a 32 second startup time on my Dell mini 9 running xp home on a 8 gb ssd drive. You would be better off getting a 64 gb flash drive and running 7 off of that. Sorry

  • Great video. I am in the process of doing just that, upgrading to an SSD.and don't know if it's worth it. My Western Digital Black Caviar 1TB drive reads at 120MBs and writes at 118MBs. It is a 6GBs drive hooked to a 6GBs Asus p6X58D-Premium motherboard. From power on to music for me is about 60 sec. So I am really at an impasse as weather it's worth the money. Thanks for your awesome videos.

  • I guarantee u that u have the wrong cables. Make sure u have sata 3 cables. Or the swappable bays limit u to only sata 2. Check and repost other video.

  • I gar anti

  • You're still limited by the SATA controller. The Z-drive would have been a lot faster due to the fact that the drive isn't bottle-necked by the controller speed.

You wasted your money on the solid state SATA drive. The OCZ Z-drive benefits from the bus speed limitation instead of the controller limitation. PCI-e is FAR faster than the SATA controller.

  • (with a crucial 128gb)

  • my boot time was taking about 12 seconds from the windows start up screen and now it's taking about 27 seconds.. i don't know what happened

  • thats extremely sad but its 136 read write which was stupid of you cause you can get something like ozc 270 read write and ten time more IOKs and with 256 gb probably even more memory and maybe it is your bios or maybe dumass like you do a little research and even get them from 500 to 300 dollars you are stupid why the hell crucial dum bitch it your computer

  • I think your drive bays on that 800D is not SATA III. You install that on SATA III and it should wake up.

  • Ok, I had the same problem on my ThinkPad T400 where the BIOS took forever to load until I did the following. 1. Crucial has the latest firmware and this made a huuuge difference. 2. I loaded the latest Intel Rapid Storage software for my laptop and man what a difference! The BIOS or ThinkPad load up screen flashes quickly and within 3 seconds I see the Starting Windows 7 icon . My laptop now boots up within 15 seconds and shuts down in a matter of 5 seconds.

    So try the firmware first.

  • My laptop with AMD 2x1,9GHz, 2GBDDR2 and 5400rpm 160GB HDD needs 60 seconds to boot up

  • That start up just does not seem right, where is your post screen? Also, for your board (Sata II) you're maxing out that SSD in your test which you should be happy with. Like someone else mentioned, the SSD doesn't start counting towards speed until the BIOS goes to it. Do you leave a CD in your drive? Maybe it's getting hung up there, try setting your BIOS to boot from your SSD first. Check my video response of my laptop boot, it's around 26 seconds.

  • @shmellz0r Yeah, if you read the posts...the EVGA BIOS is the issue, it loads so many features that it takes forever. ...but the boot after the BIOS handoff is very fast. Thanks for your comments!

  • Me amerika Brooklyn, our women dress like prostitute and ask for too much moneys and can't benchpress a donkey like they do in the rest of the world. Hehehehe. Man, you get the best comments EVAR! Seriosly, I got a 128GB c300 and I was wondering before I throw it in the mix, are there any precautions I should take before making it my OS drive, or the same procedure as your regular SATA HDD?

  • must be asus their bios sucks

  • I got a crappy $70 500gb hard drive and a quad core 2.33ghz processor with windows 7 and it started up in 40 seconds

  • Just seen your video & i was wondering if the bios might not be set on quick boot mode or perhaps its just the way that motherboard was designed to function but either way it does seem to be an issue with the motherboard & not the c300 or anything you did.

  • Maybe its because the backplanes for the 800D are STA II and the SSD is SATA III which makes the use of the hot swapable bays for SATA III useless!

  • No way you can have that ssd set up correctly,-....

  • You should insert the hard drive first, and then turn it on to let the motherboard and computer recognize it first. and then turn the computer off, and then turn it on to re-test the ssd drive. I use bootcamp on my Mac, to run Windows, and I had my HD changed into an SSD, and I saw improvements on both my Windows+Mac side. The first time booting up after changing the drive, it took a while, but after that, it booted in a snap.

  • @weinerschnitzelboy you can "hot plug"drives in Sata AHCI mode

  • i have a WD 64Gb SSD 22 Sec boot. 15 sec for the bios.

  • E8400 & Vertex 2 120GB, ACHI mode, and startup takes 27Seconds, with BIOS, without about 22-23 Seconds.

  • My Laptop load in 52 seconds :S and its only a 2.00Ghz Dual Core.

NOT an SSD but it is 160GB HD with 16GB left on it. So i'm guessing that's goodish.

  • I think there's something wrong with your motherboard or your motherboard is extreme slow or your motherboard does not support SSD... My OCZ SSD is way faster in both write/read in my i7 laptop. Boot in about 20 seconds with all my softwares (includes anti-virus, some oem toshiba softwares....etc) loaded. Maybe it's time for you to upgrade your machine :)

  • phenom II X4 965 @3,8Ghz

    Asus delux M4A76

    4Gb ddr2 600mhz

    SAMSUNG HD501LJ 500GB

    7month since install

    Boot 1:04.86s

    Full sys load 1:26.96 s

I'm waiting for the 120GB Revo drive and 4 extra gig of ram to come cant wait to see if there is a difference (crossing fingers) btw AWESOME rig!!!

  • @svampebob007 Revo drive will take LONGER to boot than a standard SSD as its like two SSD's stuck on a board in pseudo raid.....

  • @moonmanas yeah the bootup speed isn't very impresive 49,33 (15,53 sec better than the HDD), but the system loading from loging to fully ready to use is 2,1 sec (20 sec better than the HDD) :D I chossed the Revo drive not primarily fro the speed but for the interface(PCI). I'm using 3x2Tb drives and waiting for two more 3TB, I only have 5 sata ports, and if I was using a normal ssd I would only fit four storage drives or 2-3Tb less.

  • I think the problem is with your computer, my friend has the same Crutial drive as you, and his computer only takes like 12seconds to start completely... sorry to hear about the bad results though.

  • Dude amateur ur computer is to slow .... My ssd crucial needs only 14 seconds singel..... When i put 4.,2 ghz at 3.2 ghz takes only 16 seconds... AMATEUR. ! Amerikan :)

Me europe Slovenia I got c300 crucial same as u . .. ahci mode.. so amateur u maybe get feelings about those words but u are. Why u did not record shut down to sleep and turn on from sleep ? I need 1 second to go to windows. AMATEUR i hate stupid wideos they only spend money and no performance

  • @Makeshoot Your country has beautiful women! Please look at my other videos, I am not an amateur. I will give you a pass though because of where you live.

  • @Trubyd44 I completely agree with you, these haters just rip on people and they are the people ripping on you. Try turning your bios logo showing setting to less time and have your monitor on, maybe its your monitor not turning on fast enough, keep making good videos.

  • @Trubyd44 if you count hairy and masculine as beautiful.

  • @Makeshoot ahaha stupid slovenian idiot your country sucks dick

  • @Makeshoot

ok from your comment it blantently shows that your the amateur.

an ssd takes a fair view reboots to learn the boot sequence and it then efficently remaps everything so after a few boots it comes on with a improved speed.

im running 2 80gb Corsair ssd drives in raid 0 and its frighteningly quick

  • @Makeshoot I only see one amateur here and thats you. You need some serious work on your manners (and your english). On the video the whole time he says he s not certain about his results and is going to test it more and find out whats wrong.

  • @ClitoriousCeasar THANKS!

  • @Trubyd44

Makeshoot is being a retard. Don't worry about him. Thx for posting video. Greets from Slovenia.

  • @grahrarog Most beautiful women you have over there in Slovenia. I wish I had one. :(

  • Ok, I get it. Perhaps you didn't know what was happening before, but now you leave the video up nearly a year later to troll people. Then you laugh at them, if they dare to point things out. Again, didn't mean to point out "mistakes", as we all make them. I just hadn't seen a video with that slow of a computer coupled with such a high end SSD, plus thought you needed to know. Apparently, people have told you before, but you want attention and games. Also I didn't sub due to that...

  • Your meant to time from point where computer starts LOADING, not from start of BIOS!! At "starting windows". If you do that, the HDD gets 36 secs, the SSD gets 18 which means it is DOUBLE the speed of your old drive. Problem is you expected the SSD to speed up BIOS which shows you have no clue what you are doing and your system is junk. Mine boots in 10 SSD, 20 HD. I've never seen a computer as slow as yours and with water cooling, LOL. Most people use air, again, showing you don't know.

  • @scrap1005 You're hilarious, keep the comments coming!

  • @Trubyd44, thanks, ok, here's another below this. Your video was just as hilarious with all the mistakes you made. Gave me a chuckle, LOL.

  • @scrap1005 You're right, it is odd that I have almost 3 thousand subscribers with so many mistakes. Hmm..., you aren't from Germany or California by chance! Haha.

  • @Trubyd44, So you count up your subs? 3k isn't many, and has nothing to do it. But maybe you could have 10k with better vids. You sound a bit put off, and as if you take this too seriously. I didn't mean to offend you if you I did, but you were clearly disappointed with the SSD, and I don't think you should have been. That happened because you didn't understand about BIOS. So you made a video because you were puzzled about slow performance, right? And how does location apply? hmmm..

  • @Trubyd44, So if you find my comments hilarious, what's with this vid and the fact your confused about why SSD is slow when it got double performance? Was the vid for a joke or to troll us? Or where you really in the dark and wanted our comments? And 8 months later, surely you know your computer has issues right? You could get a new one, and SSD would be a charm for you.. Seriously you know that by now right? Your computer could take 1 year to boot, and the SSD would only add 18 secs, lol.

  • My i7 PC shuts down in 5. Yours took eons, yet looked like mission control with readouts on the keyboard, inside the case, OMG. You used ATTO, the most worthless benchmark that skews results due to compression on some SSDs. You never booted the same exact image on the old hard drive. The list of mistakes you made are endless, but you got double the performance from the SSD. Only at $800 you got robbed. You should have bought a new mobo, then bought a $200 SSD instead and added an HD.

  • @scrap1005 No, my point was that you watch my video and think you have it all figured out. If you had read my comments you would know that I obviously knew the BIOS is not affected by the SSD, but I was disappointed none the less. Other computers that have SSDs boot quickly because their BIOSs are less complicated and have less features...this I knew. Please visit my channel including the last computer 'premier' video and I think you will understand that I wasnt a noob or something similar.

  • @Trubyd44, I believe you, but I read the description and saw nothing about that. And it's a lot to expect of someone to read that many comments going back a year. From the video alone, anyone would think otherwise. I think I understand why you were disappointed. It wasn't the SSD, but probably initially you didn't realize so much time was spend in the pre-boot phase. I would have been upset too. But the SSD, is double as fast as advertised. Also you don't really look like a noob.

  • @scrap1005 Fair enough. Do check out those other two vids though. Look forward to your thoughts.

  • @Trubyd44 I got amd 6 core 1090t UR ssd is slow because unproper tests in pro things When u buy computer they sould test ur pc 1 week like mine its workers proper U know why >? Because they need to test ur pc if works proper ur pc is to slow for mine amd x6 already... DUde be serios where did u buy pc ? I got xaser air colling corsair 850 watt AX cl 7 memory 2000mhz gskill air cooling default CLOCK

  • @Trubyd44 why i am telling u those things when u buy computer many tests They make 7 days 24 hours per day if u pay alot, they need to see if it works proper if it dont than they say change ur mother board change ur graphic memory and u ask why >? Because performance is decreasedd and u need to change. If u got nvidia card from gigabyte and ur fps is lower than with less expensive card u need to know .... why to change ask pros u will have proper work Send back this computer for test........

  • @scrap1005 Also, check my physX video out too...you can't watch one video of someone and think you got them figured out. About the location stuff, normally all the negative comments (degrading) like yours seem to come from those two areas.

  • @Trubyd44, Ok, I will see it, when I find it later. But I looked and you have a lot of interesting looking videos. I can see you are no noob, so sorry as I was thrown off by this video, and didn't mean to sound degrading... But I don't think I was being THAT degrading. Most of what I had was pointing out things you missed with a little tone of surpise. If you think about it like that, it will occur to you I was mostly trying to be helpful. Also you know about physX, so that's cool :-)

  • @scrap1005 you are absolutely right. this guy sucks at tech reviews.

  • I was thinking to buy this, but I don't know how to copy everything on my HDD that I use now to the SSD.. :(

  • first of all, the Startup is not 800 Bucks worth, but iststall some APPS othe Cruicial and you will see the true Performance.

2nd concerning the ATTO Benchmarks it seems that you are using just an SATA2 Controller which is limiting very strong, this Disk needs a 6G Controller!!!

I got 2 Cruicials 128mb in Raid 0 and I'm very happy with it, the look and feel is very great.

Last but not least Crucial offered already a Firmware #2 for this drives, maybe this will push ist also.

  • 30 seconds of that was your BIOS! Got nothing to do with the starting of windows....

  • My time was 35 seconds, Standard laptop hard drive with AMD Athlon X2 Processor.

  • it takes your motherboard 30 fuking seconds to go through BIOS ?!?!?!

    replace that bitch asap.

  • somethin' definitely not right. the read speads are 3x that of the samsung (THE SAMMY IS FAST) but not above 140mb's. you can do 355/mb's on the crucial.

have you fixed the boot time yet?

there has to be a bios option like quick boot or something.

  • Macbook air 11"

    1/4 the boot time

    1/100000 the weight and size

    1/3 the price

  • @feikedoi but totally gay.

  • @Leignheart I dont do men, so you can call me whatever you want, I dont care, and at least Im not the one embarrassing myself with a 20 pond Microsloth Windozer system that cost way more than an Apple's masterpiece.

  • @feikedoi difference between me and you, i dont feel the need to defend windows. but you feel the need to defend mac. pathetic.

  • @Leignheart PWNED!

  • @feikedoi, his particular system is really slow. Macbooks are also slow.

  • @scrap1005 tell that to my 2pound, 10sec boot Macbook Air 11" retailing for $945 now

  • btw the BIOS would have nothing to do with the SSD it would be the MOBO ....

the SSD will be faster at loading things ... try starting word on both drives and see which is faster ;D

  • You people really are stupid, sorry to say, buying a huge ssd is pure waste of money, unless your work is in video editing or something. Get a freaking 64GB ssd, install the OS and one or two of your damn games on that, period. Stick with normal hdd's for your porn etc. I've been using a 32GB ssd for several years now, it's faster than an hdd for anything and it costed me like $100.

  • You are awesome.

  • Seriously something is NOT right here.

What SATA connection are you using.. a SATA 1?

This is fucking SLOW for an SSD bootup.

I have a laptop that boots up in 15 seconds.

  • Can't wait for hard drives to go obsolete hoefully in the next few years cant wait to buy a one terabyte solid state drive for 180 dollars well in the next couple decades maybe for the 1 Tb.

  • What case is that mate? I like the idea of hotswapping the Hard drives

  • @kd84afc Corsair 800D not cheap i will get one next year or sooner if amazon put it on sale for Christmas.

  • @barf245 an intel 980-x aint cheap either ;D

  • you are stupid...installing from DVD is slow on every PC no matter what you have i7 with SSD or dual core with hdd its gonna be slow.

  • @JanBirsa Oh really? Thank goodness you took the time out to tell me that. LOL!?!

  • @JanBirsa

Wrong, one part of the OS instaltion is actually from the SSD, the DVD is only used at the first and second phase, the third is the actual HDD/SSD.

  • @JanBirsa i don't think so because setups are compressed and so its faster on faster systems

  • Good video and thanks for posting it. Are you using a sata III motherboard? The fact you've performed two comparisons back to back on start up and performed the read write test live was great. I've been thinking about buying this drive but for $550 for 256GB, it's a bit expensive.

  • @aazapf get the 128 version its like half the cost

then get a cheap 1TB HDD or summin for the games documents and other things ;)

i think thats what i'll do

  • Trubyd44

    SSD =18sec

    HDD =28sec

It counts when the windows logo start up. BIOS startup does not count becouse it does not have any connection to the SSD or HDD. It is the motherboard.

  • first off there has to be something screwy with your board for it to take that long to post, and secondly the drive may be a 6Gb but it is only running at 3Gb in your system, you really should get your bios looked at as i have delt with that board before and it did not take more than 10s to post :S

  • Was looking at the c300's on Newegg. I compared them and found no difference between the two but one is 569 dollars and the other is 620 dollars. Any idea on what the difference is?

  • @enigmafirst I think the more expensive comes with a data transfer cable and cloning software

  • @psijc Awesome thanks for the info. If the OCZ Revo doesn' t have the TRIM when I place my order I'm going with the C300 thanks again.

  • That.....doesn't make sense lol.

  • I am Killin it.. link of screen cap of my speeds on the c300.

on a rampage extreme III with sata III. I got 382mb and 215mb per sec on this drive.

  • I did some research on SSD's and all I can find is that crucial c300 is the fastest in the market. Have you heard any different?

  • @enigmafirst They are the fastest when combined with a SATA III connection.

  • @Trubyd44 Excuse my noobness as you mentioned SATA III connection. Do you mean the SATA 3Gb/s connection rather then the SATA 6Gb/s connection?

  • @enigmafirst ENIGMA --- Sata II (2) operates/is 3Gb/s ....... SATA III (3) operates/is SATA 6Gb/s

    Hope that helps.... later

  • @dalesalsa I think so. So basically if it's capable hooking it up to the SATA 6GB will make it perform faster. Correct me if I'm wrong. Putting together my first. :-P

  • @Trubyd44

OK i use seagate in raid 0, 2 x 500 gig and including post i do 45 seconds from power on. Have been looking at this ssd drive so thank you for this video shows me i might as well keep my money. I see to many reviews saying a 3 to 5 second load time.

  • @Trubyd44 did you use a sata 3? as is 6GBPS? connection

im thinking about a 128GB on a sata 3 connection as my boot ssd

  • OCZ RevoDrive and Z-Drive are the fastest by far.

  • @enigmafirst

If you don't count the write performance yes.

  • 1:10 from switching on to the desktop being visible. That's with 2x Seagate 250gigs in raid 0. Is that slow?

  • Without Sata 3 it is more or less useless, really. Your boot times are all wrong too, how can you compare it. My computer takes like 32 seconds to boot, not including the BIOS but it is like 3/4 years old now. So I say that isn't that bad really. l2dostuffproperlybeforeuploadingtoyoutube

  • @GoogleSearch07 HaHa! Pathetic! What is hilarious is that you actually think you are correct! I love YouTube

  • @Trubyd44 Actually, he is.

  • You know you can also Tweak 'configsys' so it doesnt do the Winbootlogo and stuff.

  • wow i shall save my money for greater cpu or video card

  • my boot time is similar with an i7 920 2.8ghz, 6 gig corsair dominator 1600mhz triple channel and intel 25-m with trim.

So ,unlucky on spending all that cash

  • Lol you do understand that bios has nothing to do with speed...

And this is only faster on Sata 3 will get average speeds with sata 2

  • @247porkchop C'mom man! Look at my other videos and you make the call.

  • @Trubyd44 Aight aight, i may have spoke too soon. My bad. I have the same HDD and just ordered this SSD. I'll see how it does. Our PCs are actually alot alike. Same ram. I got the Rampage 3 tho.

  • Good video, i am balancig between C300 and Vertex2. Has something changed after installing Sata III ? In Sata II it should have 265mb/s ,Sata III 355/s. Would be nice to see a new video with everything optimized around this now 600usd wonder to see how it works. Thanks for posting it.

  • @Istenenergia I am getting 365Mb/s Read and 215Mb/s Write on SATA III.

  • with my core 2 duo and a samsung 300 gig takes 1min to boot

  • The reason your Installation didn't go too fast is because the Write speeds aren't usually nearly as fast as the Read speed, and with installing Windows, that of course is writing :-)

  • This OR RevoDrive?

  • @1981z28camaro Go with this. The Revodrive doesn't support trim.

  • @gaz52 cool, was also thinking about getting the Intel X25-V, what do you think?

  • @1981z28camaro Not sure about that one. I've never had an ssd so I don't know much about them.

  • @gaz52 ok no problem :-)

  • The bios loading doesnt have anything to do with the SSD...

  • Bottleneck?

  • I think it's the Crucial C300 that has a slow start-up time. Other SSDs perform much better in that sense.

  • If you want to optimize your boot times you'll have to kill off all the extra junk in the bios. You'd actually get the best boot time if you put the drive onto the intel chipset's SATA controller even though it's 3Gbps and not 6Gbps since you could then disable the 6Gbps controller entirely which would save you several seconds of init
