when i was a liitle kid my parent thought this would be a cute movie.. NOT! Scared me to death! I was scared that they were more of them and the other were evil! couldnt sleep for over a year! im still scared of this movie! the scariest part is when eliot first see's him in the field. BUT the part I hated the most was when he came back to life.. :(
That was THE shot in E.T. that horrified me the most. I had to fast forward or turn the TV off when I thought that part was coming because something about ti just creeped the absolute shit out of me.
im so fucking wierd.. here i'm sitting, with my hands in front of my face, trying to open my eyes between my fingers...i have no sound. but no.. i can't look at this.. its to scary. but its more scary that i'm 15 years old.. well done!
good job, only one horrible problem, the original scene were E.T. is scared and screaming in the cornfield is much scarier than the newer movie version
Yeah. Did you ever read the storybook? I first read it in about early 1999 or so, 2nd semester of first grade.... either way, they had a still from that scene of E.T., and it was horrible. If anyone has that book still, check that page out: E.T. looks fucking EVIL, like he's laughing maniacally. Great movie, but it was fucking creepy.
I'll never understand what people find scary about E.T. This was my favorite movie as a little kid and still is! I think he's adorable! How could you be afraid of a little squatty alien with big blue eyes and long eye lashes that smiles and waddles and drinks Coors Light?! lol. I'd be friend with him XD
near the start of the movie when hes picking up the plants, when u just see his hand reach out, and the bit when it shows you him from a big distance walking-HIS WALK IS SO FUCKING TERRIFYING. when his ship leaves him and he does that walk down the hill, any time you see his fingers reach round the corner of a door the cornfield scene and of course when he finds eliot sleeping.
this is the old version i mean, not the cgi bullshit
congratulations, youve made me shit my pants. and i used to really be scarred of ET. My Sister used to shut the lights off and tell me ET would come and get me.
ET has always scared me, I blame my parents for dragging me on that damn universal ride when i was four. I'll still wake up some nights in a cold sweat because of that damn alien.
i'm not afraid of ET at all but the music created for this re-edited horror trailer makes me have goosebumps. good work with the music. it truly makes ET more scary than he appears in the film.
You think this is scary? The turks made a rip-off of this film called Badi. The title character looks like the grotesque offspring of Chunk and Jabba the hutt.
i saw it when i was 1 - traumatised me. I think this film should have been a PG not a U its too much for babies and young children - I saw it in 1982 and it still freaks me out
@andre34343 wanna hear something interesting? originally the script for this movie was an alien invasion horror....also the scary bit when ET jumps out has been remade into cute 3d graphics lol - damn spielberg >.<
jajaja ET really used to freak me out when i was a child..couldn't even see him..but its ok now, i love him and im gonna buy this movie 'cause it's a classic..
Same here, age and everything, ha. Yeah, I saw this in early 1994 or so... was not prepared. I mean, I;ve always enjoyed it, but that first half hour is so unexpectedly dark and ominous, and honestly, E.T. already LOOKS fucking creepy, but he also ACTED scary too. Listen to him, he's growling, making gross 'squishing' sounds... it's genuinely disturbing. I think I only had 2 or 3 nightmares about E.T. as a kid, and none anymore, but it still manages to put a chill down my spine.
OMG!! I'm stoned to hell and I just watched this in a small rooom with loed volume in the dark empty house and I just f##kin shit my pants!! Haha that was brilliant!
It's really curious!!E.T should be a positive film, but I'm scared of this alien!! I think that it's the most terrifying alien of the history of cinema!!It's really realistic!! :D However I always watch this film!!
im 14 and since i seen this movie (when i was about 4 or 5) iv had nightmares till about a year ago but somtimes i still look over at the door just expecting to see him standing there like at 1:02
I had dreams when I was little that I was trapped on E.T.'s planet and was surrounded by hundreds of the little things. Whenever I explain to people that this movie scares me, they immediately think I'm talking about the astronauts that invade the house, NOT TRUE!! Who else thinks its absolutely horrifying when "Michael" finds him in the forest laying there all pale and sick, and when he's in the bathroom reaching out for Eliot's mom. Also the music at the beginning when he gets left behind?
gee...i thought i was the only one person ever in the whole world afraid of him...my dad used to hit me even im a girl because he said it was very stupid of being afraid of him...stupid for me is believing he is adorable as people say
I feel you, I had night terrors for years about ET. My parents always tried to get me to watch the movie through all kinds of trickery; they even got it for me when I turned 16 as a gag gift.
I really do appreciate when s.o. spends time to create such a clip with such a content, you really nailed it, I hate that little creature since I saw him the first time in cinema, my father brought me there and said "it's about a cut little man from elsewhere, everybody likes him", but when I saw his face and hands, I was scared as hell.
Still today he is disturbing to me (I mean the original puppet from 1982, not the CG-Trash)
that crrepy shit made me laughing!!! is fun because really scared me the scenes at 0:53,54 when et runs trought the plants and the horror sounds at the moment 1:03 and the et's movement xD
The first time I saw ET I was 8 years old, man that monster scared the hell out of me, the moment Eliot and ET scare each other in the cornfield I pied my pants. For manny nights during manny years I was unable to sleep at night. To me the creature looked so awfull and real.
Enny body else tromatised by ET?
If I had saw the recut at 8 years old with the ILM crap I would have pied in my pants not becouse of fear but becouse of loughing, the CGI looks so awfull, cheap and amateuresque.
So many elements in ET, ever since I first saw it, always scared the living piss out of me, from the way ET shrills when running from those men in the woods to when ET's being difribrillated. They all startled and shot my nerves to hell. Today, that movie still creeps me out. Even John Williams' score (not the main theme, thank God), but other pieces of the soundtrack creep me out too.
The music I made on Soundtrack ("scoring" software on the iMac, in case you're not an Apple user). I think there was one brief horn interlude that's among the sound effects included in iMovie '08.
