The 12 cut's in 1.5" is just a book of laws.I had the honor to attend a seminar with Tuhon Ray teaching this and i just said ok now i got it.What you see is based on natural reactions of the target, is seperated in segments,is based on principles and concepts.There are tons of material to cover through these 12 cuts but 500 characters are not enough.

What is being shown here is a cut pattern or template of possibilities. In a real fight, you will not likely get all 12 strikes in.

As far as only using 'one cut', A) assailants rarely stop attacking after a single cut. It takes like 3-5 seconds for someone to lose consciousness from blood loss from a central artery, longer from a peripheral one. B) this is a combat system, NOT a self defense system. The 'Overkill' principle is in full effect. If one cut is good, 12 are better.

Check out Michael Janich's Contemporary Knife Targeting pretty much everything that has been and most of what is being taught is based on the Timetable of Death. Janich's book shows that its completely wrong, carotid artery takes 45 secs to 2 mins for shock due to blood loss for example. It goes into scientific explanation and such, very interesting stuff you should check it out. Later.

second the aorta is in the chest, but stil can be reached, from behind the clavicula and from the sppace between the ribs.

and 3rd, yes most of the greater arteries will do the job, like those of the arms, and ties.

But still the combat sistem is more than that, it does it with control of the other guy, which means you should be safe while u work him out.

A good way to see the effects of a knife attack is to use a t-shirt and a red marker. Kep in mind 3/4 of an indepth will hit just about any vital organ. Tendons in your hand and inner elbows, shoulder, grion and back are a few centimeters. Arteries and veins that will make you bleed out are in the neck, groin, can be accessed through the inner elbow. The reality is that even without trining, you can be killed very easily and efficiently by even a box cutter. A trained person will kill easily.
