not many games are able to reproduce this up and down hearing sensation. even movies dont do this that well when wearing headphones. The magic is that these are biaural recordings where two microphones are used to create this realistic 3d sound.

@Blargle01 10$ stereo can wont works as nice. But the point is, there's no such thing as surround headphones, they all have 2 drivers, same as those that arent branded as surround. A 200$ Razer "surround" headphone will work better than some 10$ headphone, but it wont work better than 200$ headphone.

Hmm with some pioneer stereo headphones I get the sound around, downwards, upwards, behind me BUT not in front... is the recording made like such? I do not feel the box of matches or whatever it is is ever in front of me... hmm...

Thinking on getting some new game headset that puts me at least close if not in to audiophile experience... it seems that the "multiple drives headsets" are not really that good when facing Dolby Digital Live from what I read... is that true?
