  • Max respects Human's Tool....the plate. He knows his place, and not to disrespect you by dare touching them.

  • i like how you kinda laugh when you mention the 'considerable distance between himself and the hotdogs'. dogs do strange things sometime, but i'm sure they feel they same about us.

  • 4:42 ftw

  • I love these videos, not only for the tricks, which are impressive of course. But surprisingly, i like the videos because like myself and many others out there no doubt, you are interested in the strange little dog psychology quirks that come up from time to time. This was a good example :)

  • Holy crap, 4:43 is amazing.

    Great job.

  • cork 360 =p 3:46

  • Thank you!

  • OMG, luv your videos. You guys need to be on Pet Star! :-)

  • So to be clear, the trainer you mentioned was convinced that Max was scared of the hot dogs?

But in reality it was the plate. Well it seems to me that Max might just be respectful that he has observed only humans eating off of plates and doesn't want to disrespect you as his daddy. Maybe?

Some dogs are just polite (like Venus. Not like Supernova:))

Very impressed with your work so far.

    Zak

  • (continued) That can't be right though. I mean the general thinking among dog trainers is that dogs aren't sharp enough to make that connection.

You know your dog better than anybody. What do you think?

  • I think I could count on one hand the amount of times Max has gotten into major trouble. The only thing that really comes to mind is that he chewed up a wooden handle on our dresser. He seems to have a 6th sense about what he's allowed to do and what not. The reason I say that is because he's been well behaved since 8 weeks old, and he was raised in a barn lol.

Totally understand about two dogs being different too, Jada would devour that entire plate without hesitation.

  • So you believe then, that maybe he's respectful of you and his family and that could be the primary reason that he avoids the plate? Not so much that he had a negative experience in the past?

Well, thank you very much for providing some insight.

  • I'm not sure Zak, like I said he seems to have some 6th sense about it. He just doesn't get into trouble.

  • WOW, Jada is incredibly awesome!!! 'Horizontal' flip?? Gee, I've never seen THAT before! WOW. I just LOVE psychotic dogs :))) Greetings from Poland :D

  • Monoamiga said: I just LOVE psychotic dogs :)))

I wish that were true for most people! There are a ton of great dogs with a bunch of potential turned into animal shelters all the time!

  • Yeaa, that's soooo bad... What can we do above all is to popularise knowledge. I try to do this every time I can. Thanks again! You rock!

  • awesome video, jada seems like a quirky little pup!

  • Haha yea. You could say that.

  • Bingo...

    Good detective work, Jake.

Score on the bow trick, eh?

    Cheers,

    Ron

  • Yea no kidding. Max does it but I haven't taught it to Jada yet.

  • Nice vault at the end. Interesting experiment.

Look forward to your next video.

    Zak

  • Thanks Zak!

  • omg i love jada. she's a little bundle of energy. ahhhh. sweet vid jake. cant wait for the next vid. lol. i cant teach my dogs how to bow. thats just one trick i have a problem with. oh that and crawl. maybe put that in there? please. haha.
