@Johncameagain Thanks for comment ! As part of the movie music composed by Michel Legrand and known under the name "Bande à part", this piece is a combination between jazz and rhythm and blues. It's not a pure madison but Anna Karina always said that the actors had called this "the Madison dance". Since, this name has remained attached to the scene of the movie.
The trouble with putting music over the top of classic film clips is that it appears impossible now to find, on youtube, the clip with the original soundtrack of this scene - which, for its earthy reality, is unimprovable - get that - without need of "improvement".
The result of this barrage of overdubbing is - that for as good as everyone's favourite song to put over the top of this clip, it makes me cringe to hear them.

@yeah0thats0fine Thank you for your comment. You can find the video of the original scene of the movie on DailyMotion the french equivalent of YouTube. You just have to type this address in Google: video/x6byh6_le-madison-de-bande-a-part_shortfilms
@edwardjames50 Thank you for your comment ! I'm glad you liked the video and I agree with you, the madison was probably the most beautiful dance of that time with great beauty and full of elegance that we don't find in other dances as the twist or the jerk.

This dance was superb to begin with, and it's even better here, with the change in music! Great job.
