@DEBBIEFLK Hi: I had this surgery 2.5 years ago, and it was not a big deal. I advise that you take as little opiate pain killer as possible. i.e: morphine, codeine, percocet, etc. The worst part of recovery is abdominal pain from the effects of the painkillers, because of gas, and constipation. Walk as soon as you can, it makes a huge difference in reducing abdominal pain. If the food is as bad in UK hospitals as it is in Canada, go to the cafeteria to eat. Once again, force yourself to walk.
