@GerrettJihad 7.62x51 or .308. It'll chamber and fire either one, but you'll get the best results from military loaded 7.62x51. Just avoid the corrosive Pakistani surplus or you'll be cleaning the gas system for hours trying to get that residue out of there.

@GerrettJihad I made the mistake of using the Pakistani surplus .303 in my Bren one single time and after 150 rounds it came out looking like tar had been poured into the gas regulator and chamber. Smelled like a rose too... Best thing for it is Hopes #9, which also smells like a rose, but at least it evaporates over time and doesn't turn your barrel into a sewer pipe.

Anyway, best 7.62x39 ammo on the market is Wolf, TulAmmo, and Silver/Brown Bear. Non corrosive and almost as cheap as milsurp.

Yeah, so long as your shooting combloc weapons or have a weapon thats seen a good bit of use, theres tons of steel case ammo hitting the shelves at an extremely good price. Monarch is Academy Sports in house ammo and is from various places, but its all non-corrosive and shoots great. They offer brass cased for some weapons, which is usually Privi-Partisan production, and the steel cased stuff is generally from the Bernaul plant.

Imagine how much better MG's the military would have if we didn't have the hughes amendment that doesn't allow the public to buy fully automatic weapons made after 1986. There would be a civilian market for fully automatic weapons and manufacturers would feel free to reasearch without relying on military contracts. It's no onder our main HMG is a WW2 gun and all of our other Machine guns are from the 60's and 70's... The free market applies to the military aswell.

Any M60 is capable of that. Talk to any Vietnam vet that. The way the trigger mechanism actuates things caused many runaway guns that could only be stopped by breaking the ammo belt. And you can shoot that gun for as long as you want with a sufficiently long belt, just don't over heat the barrel, or it will runaway from that too. Maybe a newly built gun, but NOT a new version M60.

@Army1ntel Most of the internal mechanisms of the M60 are copied from the MG42, its practically the same besides balance, caliber and cosmetics. And you fired a variant of the MG3(7.62x51 NATO) not the MG42 (7.92x57 Mauser).
