I remember this soap only lasted briefly. My sister Karol and I have three memories of it (we're both in out mid 50's now) ....A) that it was kind of racy for a ABC soap produced in 1970 B) some wavey haired guy who bedded all the women (or tried to) named Dexter. and C) Patty "The Bad Seed" ( SO I HIT HIM AGAIN!!!!) McCormack starred in this as well
This was a great soap opera! Sadly, it was shortlived, but there are excellent memories of it! Katherine Glass, who played Kim, was a VERY GREAT actress! She also played Allison McKenzie on the NBC-TV daytime soap opera Return To Peyton Place, and she also played Jenny Wolek on the ABC-TV daytime soap opera One Life To Live. Hopefully, soap operas will still be around for generations to come!
@GJNCA I remember that, too. This was an excellent soap with an outstanding cast. Why ABC didn't move it to another time slot before canceling it is beyond me. It was created by James Lipton, host of "Inside the Actor's Studio."
I too remember the episode where the child ingested the LSD, (though I recall them as chocolates). In any case, he immediately dropped to the floor and began writhing in agony! A shocker to be sure--wonder if LSD would really cause that. Have many other memories of the show too especially the Hippie pusher Squirrel.
This soap opera was pre All my Children. When it was cancelled All My Children took over and the rest is history.

@iwasthor AMC preceded The Best of Everything by nearly three months. AMC premiered January 5, 1970; BOE premiered March 30, 1970.

I loved this soap. With stars like Geraldine Fitzgerald, Gale Sondergaard and Patty ("Bad Seed") McCormack, it's a shame it didn't last.
