The most important thing here is the joy. They think it is funny to play this song and they don't care and probably think it is funnier to play it to a room full of people who are all sober and sitting. On their new album they have some really deep, beautiful songs with incredible lyrics and they play those with the same joy and excitement. Genius.
It amazes me that someone could fail to get some pleasure out of this band and any of their performances. I damn near fell in love with the blonde when I saw this show. Had to walk away or risk acting a fool.... what, do you live on a block of ice? Last time I checked campy was still fun, but trashy corn-pone hot sleazy intelligent sexy campy? Man, why not?
It was ridiculously hot out that day, the crowd was older, and the way the seating was arranged there was no room for dancing. They were placed at the wrong stage, needless to say.
I dunno, someone said they were good so I invested 20 seconds of my life in this video and it hurt my ears so bad my spine contorted--mea culpa for trying something new...heard a couple others of their's that were nice, but this one? Forget it.
