  • Before somebody KILLERS you, You Need to be STRANGLED.

  • Great Job !!! I've just near forgotten how GOOD this Band was back in the days...

Believe it was about the Viking too...

  • very good very good

  • "I went to toilet on the sea"

Not the best ever stranglers lyric.

  • Thanx for this youve made an old punk happy one of me all time faves!

  • Good show on the video here! I as a rule really kinda don't like overly busy fan concocted videos but this one is an exception, TA!

  • words cant describe how good this band is , see you in leeds

  • Definitely Worthwhile! The Stranglers didn't just write songs, they wrote EPICS!

  • A seminal band but much underated. Never considerd to be one of the cool bands to have come out of the punk era and underated as a result.

  • can't wait to see this played live at theweekendinblack on saturday..

  • Our measley oul' collection of reprehensible reprobates are often compared with the awesome, amazing artistic aura of these true legends of lyrical lilts. We love 'em,HUGE fans of the Stranglers - vastly underrated.......

  • wonderful, wonderful, wonderful !!!!!

  • Just worked out it was 27 years ago that I saw them, fuck am I getting old or what? Don't care, had fun. Best Stranglers track, so much energy. Glad I had my youth when I did!

  • great stuff, love it

  • <<< Not quite a Toiler on the Sea.... but I once caught some sticklebacks in the river Ouse using a net I bought from a shop in Whitby for 25p.

  • iv bin a fisherman for 20 years -before that i became a hardcore stranglers fan-waiting for the new albums to come out and waiting in awe of the next one up to black and white-then i lost interest -but they still are my gothic gods

  • 30 years a fan, and they still blow me away!

  • Raw bass sound!

  • they are not underated they influenced hundreds can not be bettered hahahahahahhaahahahahahahaha

  • Why would you need a toilet? You could just go over the side of the boat.

  • when i was a viking, my friend he was the raven.....

  • my best band

  • best bass intro ever

  • Great vid, it's all proper 'bo

  • Another great Stranglers tune with a magnificent intro.

  • i find it beautiful

  • Awesome live,this song tells a story...just don't know what!

  • If only this track hadn't inspired the band 'A Flock of Seagulls' it would be perfect!

  • Travelogue of a tune.Awesome.Ghods...D

  • Defo my fave song from the Black & White album....

  • the vikings discovered america...?!

  • @mrgeebaby86 They almost certainly DID.

  • @Raveninblack1 ...been reading up on it, i had only heard that columbus was the first, you learn something every day!

  • @Raveninblack1 I think you will find that it was an Irish monk called St. Brendan who first discovered America....

  • @tigerspuds Haven`t heard that one Tigerspuds. I will research this. Thanks.

  • Awesome.

  • the stranglers the best band ever!!!!!!

  • Listening to this song, once changed my live. Just before someone played this (brand-new reased) album during a party I had been a typical teenage nerd, with no special idea of a thing called punk. But then, I "invented" pogo, because I didn't knew it existed. Thus, I had to leave this party, those nerds were not amused...

  • absolute classic , by the most underated band ever.

  • @fja1999 underated ... who said and what does that mean?

  • A collection of songs that exudes bleak war torn imagery and references the cold war dystopia to great effect. The black side sought to capture the post apocalyptic destruction with a stark sneer of cold command, the white side reflected a libertarian utopian landscape where robots rule and armies conquer. The sleeve depicts the band silouetted against a white background symbolising the intense white light of an atomic exposion, thus reflecting the entrenched paranoia that existed in the 1970's.

  • @almklit Very nicely put. I would add that there was a frown and wrinkled lip in there as well.

  • @ashie259 The hand that mocked them (or me)

  • @almklit Thats your interpretation. To me, it's playing games on my ZX Spectrum and having good tunes in the backbround on an old crackly record player...total nostalgia.

  • @TheBleech Here here!!!

  • @TheBleech I am very DEEEP.

  • I`m sure you are....
