  • Ferrets will eat your brains and it will be great while singing in a happy song.

  • Ferrets are not rodents

    Ferrets CAN be trained

Ferrets are not wild. They are domestic and they were bred to be that way. And work to

kill small rodents and run cables in small tubes.

They arnt wild cause if you put them outside for 4 days, they'll be dead.

THEY KILL rodents. But dont eat them cause they dont know rats and mice are edible.

Ferrets are such cuties. I recomend them if you have the time with them.

  • ... its stupid that hawaii and california still have them illegal. i miss mine, had to give it away since i couldnt take it back to hawaii Q.Q

  • getting ferrets scent glands removed is just wrong .. they hardly use them and this part of the video is soo bad

  • I live in a small apartment and I would really like a dog but since I don't have the space would a ferret be a good alternative? Note I also have a 3 year old child.

  • I have a daughter who is very allergic to cats (She busts out in hives all over her little bod :( ) and my wife and myself were looking into getting a ferret and I was wondering if she would be allergic to ferret since she is allergic to cats. Awsome video :D Thanks for posting it!

  • Actually each ferret is different as far as their scent glands go. I had one perticular ferret who released his smell everytime he played with y other ferrets. So pretty much everyday. He never bit or played to ruff. Really its not rare. To each his own lol. As far as biting, ive noticed a lot of bitters in pet stores rather than homes of breeders ive met. I think that just boils down to daily handling like with any pet.

  • You cant not smile when you see a ferret. Its a scientific fact.

  • Descenting ferrets makes very /little/ difference since they only scent when scared or over-excited. Saying that they /do/ stink unless descented is misleading, and supports a procedure that is unecessary (in expense for the owner, and unpleasantness for the ferret) and is illegal in some countries.

Ferrets have a distinct odour, but so does any mammal. Keeping the bedding/litter clean, without over-cleaning the pet, is the real "solution" to ferret smell, just like it is to dog or cat smell.

  • @FoxJLee i was just about to comment something along these lines .. in the uk it is illegal my three hobs still have their scent glands and it is very very rare that they do release their scent glands

  • i have a ferret.and he does not bite at all.in fact he has never bit anyone or anything.he is the coolest weasel.on the planet.and he is about 4 years old.he will be leaving me in a couple of years.because they have an average lifespan of about 5 to 7 years.i will miss him so much.

  • Thank you. That was helpful :)

  • My ferret never smelled and I never gave him a bath. Nobody ever smells him do unlike some people I say #2 is a right

  • i like myth number 8 :)

  • Just saying, I'm so excited!!! Me and my husband got our first little fur baby yesterday (adopted from owners that decided they didn't have enough time to spend with her) and she's so much fun!! Ran all around our house (except the laundry room we didn't let her in) for 4 hours, then she promptly fell asleep in my lap - where she currently is as I type. Video of Jasmine up on my channel

  • Also Myth number 9 is wrong. Ferrets are NOT hypoallergenic! I am allergic to my ferret and i get hives on my arms everyday after I hold him... I am also allergic to cats. If you are allergic to any other animals go to the pet store and hold a ferret and touch it for a while to see if you are allergic before getting one. I wouldn't buy a ferret from a pet store though. There are many unwanted furries in shelters and rescue centres :)

  • Myth 2 is wrong. Ferrets DO smell! My ferret is descented and just like skunks they only spray when they are scared. Ferrets have a natural odor from the oils on their fur. The more you bathe them, the more they will smell, because they body will try harder after a bath to reproduce the oils. My ferret cage needs to be cleaned every 3 days. All shaving are bad for their respiratory system so I use blankets only and that makes it much easier to clean his cage often.

  • Myth 2 is basically true then - you have to clean them every month for them not to stink and they do have stink glands.

Myth 4 - Not only do they nip and bite regularly, they have the jaw strength to break every bone in your hand!

  • Do ferrets require a companion or are they happy alone? Like many species of birds that require a mate to be happy.

  • Sure ferrets stink like every other pet but it only needs one day then you wont smell it that hard anymore! GO FERRETS GOOO!

  • I just adore them. They are so funny and love laughter - that's why we dress them up. I love the giggle they make when playing and my female really talks - sounds like ping, ting, ring. She has the dreaded adrenal disease and I understand now they do fertility drug implants instead of removing the offending gland. pray for Coconut my friends. She's one in a million.

  • DANDER DOESN'T CAUSE ALLERGIES. There is a protein in the dander and cat saliva that causes allergic reaction. Same with dogs, and yes! FERRETS too! It depends on the type of protein a person is allergic to. My friend was allergic to Ferrets, but not cats. There are some breeds of cats that have a very low protein and are called hypo-allergenic too. It's the protein itself. And it's in the saliva and dander. Saliva sits on the fur, and gets released more than the dander under the coat.

  • I use to have an albino ferret named SATAN. It would bite you full force and not let go. Could only be handled with welding gloves and kept away from face/body. Would love to see this guy train that one. I still have nightmares about that evil bastard. Myth 4 LOL

  • @Zaymeel If your ferret bit like that, then it wasn't trained not to bite. I have never been around a ferret like that unless the owner teaches them to be like that. Was it locked in a cage all the time??? It was probably depressed or something. By the way you are talking about him, I think he is lucky that you are no longer his owner :(

  • @Zaymeel ANY ferret can be trained. I got mine from a pet shop and she attacked both myself and the clerk in the store. She was so vicious that I could not release her from her cage without wearing long pants and boots and handling her with heavy-duty work gloves. She bit one friend so badly he needed stitches. She bit me several times on the hand in places that caused blood to spurt three feet away. But you know what? I trained her and she stopped biting altogether before 6 months old.

  • That guy should b killed

  • Not sure if man with womanly name or woman with manly voice.

  • Thankyou so much...even though i knew most of those myths were just myths this video reassured me..

  • Ferrets have been know to seriously hurt children, but that's because the children were left alone with the ferret, and the ferrets didn't know not to nip at the baby's fingers.

  • if I have a small bird like a budgie, should I avoid getting a ferret? might the ferret try and hurt/eat the bird?

  • @SavageHoax yes. And it can give the bird a heart attack. I own birds and parrots and my mom owns ferrets. When her ferrets are around, I lock my parrots and rats in a separate room otherwise they will kill them one way or another. Ferrets are predators, and can kill a bird without touching it from sheer fright. The ferret might not be going after the bird, but digging and making noise enough to scare it to death. I have seen this happen personally.

  • I have to say that I'm in agreement with Ahbeeb. I almost never bathe my ferret, and they don't have odor issues. However, it is important to do their laundry about once a week and to keep their litter boxes clean. Regarding ferret allergies, they are real. When my ferrets lick me, I get welts. I also get puffy eyes if I handle them and then touch my face. To manage this, I take an over-the-counter allergy pill once a day.

  • We had two, they were wonderful.

  • I disagree with the second myth. Bathe your ferret once a month? Just clean the cage often. I rarely bathe my guys at all. Also cats are way more attentive and loyal than a ferret.

  • a guy named sandy...-_-

  • yay! My mom wont get me another ferret because they stink, maybe I can convince her by having her watch this!

  • "Try training a cat to do tricks"

I did, in fact, my cat can sit, lay down, dance, and roll over :) A ferret is next on my list of potential pets- Can't wait!

  • I really wont a ferret but cause I go to school I am afraid about it not playing for like six hours what does any body thin ps: my mum can help?

  • @ItsCalledDrama buy lots of toys. put four or five in the cage and swap one out for a different toy every two or three days. the ferret will be kept busy.

  • @MochaSweet16 also like most people i see on u tube have more than two ferrets is it ok to get 1, also i am afraid if i get two they won`t pay as much iterest in me?

  • @ItsCalledDrama its fine to get one ferret as long as u give it lots of toys while ur gone. although its pretty hard to stop buying them once you get started, trust me i have 5. But having more than one ferret isnt going to make the ferrets lose interest in u. If anything they'll start trying to make u pay more attention to them. They will steal ur socks, play with ur toes, climb on ur clothes. They are very energetic and curious. they will never lose interest in you.

  • @MochaSweet16 thanks i have suscribed to you channel cause you have been great help hopefully i can get a ferret or ferrets:)

  • @T16Akatsuki I got the ferret...dumbass.

  • 20+ LIKES AND I WILL CONVINCE MY MOM TO GET ME A FERRET

  • @wearenobody23 GET A FERRET! :)

  • @wearenobody23 soo how was ur moms slap

  • I LOVE THIS MAN'S VOICE, I WISH HE WOULD READ ALL MY BOOKS TO ME, his voice is so smooth and comforting to me

  • dude thank you so much you answered all of the things i was concerned about

  • @crazysinger7 LOL hide ze potatoez! Wow sounds ADORABLE

  • awesomee! now I'm ready to get one! yahhh

  • Now I know how to convince my parents! Their hypoallergenic! 

  • uhh guys, I heard that descenting a ferret is completely useless, those scent glands are only used when you frighten them. the typical 'ferret smell' comes from the glands in their skin. Besides its cruel to take a natural deffence away from an animal, a ferret uses its scent glands against dogs, and other idiots who scare them. Anyway if you think they smell don't have one in your house!

  • @hsaffi08 yeah i think thats pretty rude. i mean how would humans feel if their natural abilities were taken away? Plus i have 5 ferrets and they dont stink as long as u dont scare them by walking behind them or screaming randomly. As long as u bath once every 2 weeks there is no bad smell. People need to stop chopping stuff off of animals. If u dont like it dont buy that animal. Its pretty simple if u ask me

  • Marshall makes a product called Bi-odor that you put in the water to deodorize their poop which does smell bad. it is completely harmless and one bottle will last 3 ferrets a year. I have found it best to bathe them every week and a half (too often=dry skin=more oil production=more smell, too little... well, duh...) in addition to cleaning their cage and hammocks and play tubes around the same time.

  • These "ferrets" aren't actually ferrets at all. They are domesticated Polecats. As far as biting, ferrets are like most dogs. they only bite hard if they are abused and may occasionally nip a little hard when they are playing at a younger age. I have owned over 12 ferrets over my life and none of them have ever bitten hard enough to draw blood.

  • @arhamrana Please do not babble about things that are unknown to your or you are just ignorant about. 1st Ferrets are NOT mouse, is a weasel and are carnivorous ( simply look it up in a dictionary, if u know how to find or what is one) 2nd quote from you " Fifth, When you buy a Ferret you have to take him to a vet to get it a needle to get rid of any strong germs" you vaccinate them against viruses, not germs. Ferrets make wonderful pets. The only fake ONE here is you!

  • @arhamrana I own 3 ferrets and my stepmother runs a ferret shelter. You're a complete moron and know nothing about ferrets. Your spelling is also terrible, which tells me you're just an idiotic child.

  • @arhamrana You are an insensitive, idiotic fool and know nothing of a ferret.

  • my ferrets so smart it trained itself not to bite me! oh and he watchs tv

  • For everyone talking about ferrets having an odor.... of course they do. It is seriously lessened if you descent them but they are like ANY LIVING CREATURE. Don't dogs have a unique smell? Cats? People? If you clean up after your pet properly they should not stink, but they will still have a scent to them. It just depends on the individual person on how offensive it is just like some people think dogs and cats stink.

  • my old ferret used to break out of his cage, which was supposedly ferret proof, and he used to crawl under doors, especially the one to the bathroom

  • Thanks Sandy...

  • The picture in Myth #5 isn't a ferret, it's a weasel.

  • @OSMxLOBBIES

Actually it is a Black Footed Ferret. The only wild ferret.

  • I had a ferret growing up and he was the sweetest thing in the world. Used a little box, never bit, and followed he everywhere. Not sure how he did it but he could get his cage open at night and would come sleep on my chest. I don't know why anyone wouldn't want a ferret, the're the perfect pet. Though, mine could be a little bit of a trouble maker. You had to watch him or he would hide the potatos.

  • I LOVE FERRETS!!!

  • @ILUVMagic1000 Yea I didn't think so. They aren't that strong... In my opinion

  • Are ferrets legal in Italy cuz I want ferrets n I want to travel there so are they legal in Italy?

  • i FUCKING LOVE ferrets mainz

    (with a black voice

    )

  • Dude

i really need to know the mucis from the beggining

    please tell me

  • Thumbs if you came to video for the picture at the beginning.

  • never mind i didnt see the end yet. thank you :)

  • Can i get one because im allergic to cats?

  • @zeroreptiles96 cats and ferrets are different species, cats are felines, ferrets are weasels. you should be fine.

  • OMG the smell of ferrets is in scent glands, the cage, and ,oil in the skin and i LOVE that smell.

  • I hate how most people that say these myths actually know nothing about ferrets or the weasle famliy in general. All pets can stink, all can bite, it really all depends on the owner and if they raise them properly.

  • True that lilliz91

  • I don't get people who always blame the pet instead of the kid.

  • Great information thanks I LOVE MY FERRETS!

  • dogs smells worse imo.... and i agree 100 percent about the cage... mine only uses his at night and when we go out.

  • ferrets DO SMELL..they have a really strong strong musk (even if desented), not only that but their poop is VERY smelly and they poop about 4 times a day!!

  • @Aquesance Um have you ever owned a ferret? Of course all animals and creatures have a smell (including you). Everyone is familar with cat smell and dog smell, if you are not used to a ferret smell of course its odd. I have a ferret and he does NOT stink. Obviously you know little about them because ferrets go to the bathroom about every two hours, so if your not capable to litter train a ferret, dont own one

  • When ferrets get descented it actually helps them live longer b/c getting rid of their glands it reducing chances of tumors. And my kitten will fetch.

  • That is the cutest little cap!

  • when my mom had ferrets. she always has a nerf ball, because the ferrets love to sink their teeth into it, and my mom swings them lightly. :D

  • descenting is essential to prevent infection.

and ferrets smell no worse than a dog or cat...bathing and washing their bedding will take care of this.

  • very interesting, thanks for the info !

  • ferrets cant survive in the wild hahahahaha what a load of crap even very domesticated ferrets will turn feral and hunt rather than starve

  • @sherbert500 When a domesticated ferret is set loose, it will approach the first living thing it sees in a friendly, playful manner. Much of their hunting ability has been bred down in the domestication process. Also, domesticated ferrets fail to burrow in the wild, depriving them of a place to sleep, escape and hide.

The next time you have a thought, let it continue and follow it through. Don't cut it off at the beginning. You'll find the act of thinking can be very rewarding this way.

  • @pandarsson and where has this logic come from.......ive kept ferrets for 20 years and ferrets are the most adaptable of animals out there.... there hunting instinct has never been "bred" out of them....thats why they jump and nip its the hunting instinct that makes them do that....please dont try to educate the educated....face a ferret with starvation and a kill and it will kill...simple as that really.....ferrets should be used to do what they do naturally anyway and not kept as a teddy bear.

  • @sherbert500 Wait, you've "kept ferrets", so you know they can survive in the wild? Either you misunderstand the word 'keep' and you meant "released pet ferrets into the wild", or you're just guessing that their behavior is equal to their wild ancestors. To get a hint of what they were like *before* domestication, try keeping a weasel. Tell me *then* that ferrets are as able to survive in the wild as when they *were* wild.

And remember: the inadequately educated can always be further educated.

  • @pandarsson pet ferrets have survived in the wild around where i come from ive seen it and witnessed it while out hunting.......they dont dig there own shelter they take over burrows and revert back to wild ways ......but then i wouldnt expect you to understand this logic....and as for keeping a weasel....no thanks i wouldnt want to be locked up for keeping a wild animal without a licence thanks.

  • @sherbert500 Dont think you ever have owned one, have you? Maybe before you make a statement, try making sure you have some clue of what your talking about. Thank you

  • Myth 4-

    Ferrets Bite

    "THIS IS TRUE but..."

    THEN ITS NOT A MYTH

  • Ferrets are awesome pets. Though their litter box can stink a lot quicker then a cats litter box. So, changing it at least twice daily, is a good idea. Always remember you’re the big scary giant to them… so always treat them like children. In fact, taking care of them is much like caring for a child. If left alone, they will get into everything. But they need play time. Or they will become depressed. Buying them in pairs, is also a great idea. They really act different if you have only one.

  • Actually... ALL mammal's, every last one of them, can get rabies.. so..

  • 50+ THUMBS UP AND I CAN CONVINCE MY MOM TO GET ME A FERRET FOR CHRISTMAS!!

  • @madijaz hope you got it!

  • @madijaz did it work?

  • @madijaz yeah, good luck with that.. dumbass

  • Thank you this i learned alot

  • thanks for the info ^,^

  • I don't get it if something is true it's not a myth

  • amazing how they eat rodents

  • I haz a 3 yr old female north american silver-foot ferret and when she gets mad she dosent bite, she makes great use of her claws wich arent even sharp...

  • I would love a ferret. Someone I know has a ferret and he was so fun and lovely although he did smell a little. But I have a guinea pig and house rabbit so would a ferret be dangerous? Would I have to keep it away from my pig and rabbit in a pen or something?

  • lol, one of my females, Babe, has learnt to wag her tail on command as a sign that she's happy to come out for a play. And my castrated male, Van, has learnt to take his food back into his cage when he's out and about instead of stashing it behind the TV. They really are amazing creatures ^_^

  • About Myth 2: it is actually a fact the more you bathe a ferret the smellier it would get, i bathe mine every 2-3 months.

When they are bathed they try to recover their scent and their scent glands in there neck produce more oils and would actually make your ferret smell worse. Also it would be bad for your ferrets skin!

  • 4 of the Myths are actually true, unless you make an exception.

4 of the Myths of opinion, and not actually myths.

  • we had 2 ferret and made pieces of wood (like a baby gate or something) to block off the bathroom, and kitchen and they ran all over 24 7 we hardly ever put them in their cage...they had secret stash spots where the "hid" stuff and every time we found the new spot they would move it lol then they would sit by the baricades(?) i suck at spellin sorry.......for hours and jump and jump til they could grab the top and pull themselves over........they past away a long time ago and i miss them!!!!!

  • If people are interested in getting a ferret they can avoid a lot of smell with litter box training. Also, google local SHELTERS/RESCUES which often have ferrets that fit your exact needs. I know ones in my area have ferrets that get along well with kids, cats, dogs and bunnies and that are already potty trained. They also so have animals that are less friendly because they have been abused/neglected. Please read on how to properly care for a ferret before getting one. They are not hamsters.

  • Ok first, most vets are FINE with descenting, it is not like declawing. descenting is as safe as spaying/neutering your animal. I have yet to meet a vet against it &I've had ferrets all my life. In many states ferrets cannot be legally sold without being descented. Also, baths done correctly, do not strip your animal of important oils. They get wet in the wild. Water & the occasional gentle soap free /ferret shampoo work well. my ferrets had lovely glossy coats without too much or little oil.

  • I want a pet ferret, but they're not allowed in Australia.

Though I will ask, I have heard that Ferrets will attack/kill other pets. I have a pet cat and if I eve had the chance to get her a Ferret 'friend', I would. but hearing that they can become quite vicious puts me off. I know that it can be a case of nurture over nature and getting your ferret from a respected breeder, but at the same time sometimes you can't overcome an animal's nature.

I don't want to risk either pets' safety.

  • @AlealiaKitsune I've seen ferrets raised together with mice, bunnies, cats, and squirrels. Cats and dogs tend to get a long great with ferrets I worry a little more about prey animals like mice and bunnies. Generally when raised from babies things work out great. Ferrets are very friendly happy animals when raised correctly. You need to train them and not leave them in a cage all day. However, whenever introducing animals they should ALWAYS be closely supervised. As your vet how best do this.

  • Ferrets are easy to steal because they climb up your sleeve

  • just so you know guys, descenting ferrets is not cruel at all. When you get your ferret spayed or neutered, that is descenting. The scent glans have to be taken out in order to spay or neutered. I know this because a vet told me so yeah.

  • @RatColonyCare

In a lot of places (UK and other European countries, etc), de-scenting is considered an unnecessary mutilation.

  • @RatColonyCare Well your vet lied to you. Maybe they remove the scent gland when they do the neutering surgery but they don't HAVE TO.

It's forbiden in France to descent a ferret (or declaw a cat, or cut a dog's tails or ears). Both my ferrets are neutered, both of them have their scent glands so your "vet" has it wrong.

  • @RatColonyCare Your vet is WRONG. Either that or you heads wrong. De-scenting and neutering/spaying are not done at the same time.

  • I trained my cat to do backflips

  • @bates507 o-o?

  • @bates507 LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

  • @bates507 please put video of your cat on youtube i would like to see it do back flips!!

  • why the fuck would you cage a crazy fun packed animal you fuck up? ferrets have feelings too how would you like to be caged because of your dumbness?

  • you canadian?

  • most or all Marshal ferrets are decented two blue dots tatooed on ear means fixed and descented

  • Black footed ferrets are even a different species from domestic ferrets, just like African wild dogs are a different species from domestic dogs.

  • Myth Number 11: This guy has a life

  • Woah woah buddy... I played with ferrets that still had their scent glands and they didn't smell nearly as bad as the ones that had them removed... Wanna know the difference? Well one group had their cages cleaned regularly! You can guess which :)

  • @hicks391 actually your wrong ferrets see far but they can see close that's why they have whiskers so they can feel what's a round then. Look it up

  • Actually I'd like to say sir u r wrong ferrets see nearly as well as humans if not better depending on the ferret itself

  • @MrGhost 157 stitches! Sure you didn't get bitten by a monster dog? My dad got 144 in his neck after going off a cliff and hitting a barbed wire fence

  • My ferrets escaped for over a month, but one day my neighbors called up to say there was a ferret running around in their garden, so I went over and found it running around perfectly healthy

  • this is great and u sound like gabe newell a lil bit

  • this is a great video BUT u need to make it more interesting... a simple slide show and you are a bit monotone... try to make it more interesting and catchy.... you have valuable information... be more excited and show video.... only trying to be constructive here :)

  • my ferret dont bite

  • I love ferrets! My friend had one but the small was powerful. If you let your guard down then they will run all over you like crazy.

  • NOT ALL FERRETS BITE FERRETS DONT HAVE RABIES UNLESS YOU DIDNT GET IT FROM A SHELTER OR A PET STORE FERRETS DONT CRAP A LOT IF YOU USE A LITTER BOX

  • @xarianaxx1 ferrets from shelters do not have rabies nor do ferrets that are in pet stores. if they had rabies, they would not be sold.

  • Can't survive in the wild? Tell that to my ferret who I took to a friends farm. He got out of his cage and went missing for two weeks. He was found on the other side of a flooded creek living in a home he had made for himself in the garden on a neighboring property. He had lost a little bit of weight and had some war wounds that were healing, I have no idea what he fought with. He did seem happy to come home but he also appeared to do quite well for himself in those two weeks.

  • my moms friend gave me one when i was young and she told me that i could tell him play dead salsa and he would play dead.lol

  • Almost like toddlers? You have to be crazy to say that. They ARE fuzzy toddlers! They pout when they don't get their way. Crave attention 24/7. and they think EVERY SINGLE THING is theirs. XD I've owned three and all three do/did that XD But then they give the innocent face and all is forgiven. Yea, my ferrets run my room XD actually, it's not my room anymore, they took it over, I'm just their guest that feeds them

  • I am allergic to cats and I love my ferret! He doesn't live with me, but whenever I go over to my boyfriend's house I go crazy. lol Ferrets make great pets!

  • IMy ferrets will allways go back to there cage to do their buisnes. My old ferret couldnt allways make it back to the cage so I put some folded news paper it the corner by my bedroom door. So if he couldnt make it to the cage he would go to the paper. I didnt even train them to do it, they just go to those spots.

  • I hate the "Ferrets are wild" myth that everyone believes. It's the reason they're banned in so many areas.

Your dog or cat can live on its own, but a ferret can't last more than a week on its own. It won't breed like rats.

  • i love my ferret. she has her stinky glands and i would never get them taken out. i find they stink less if you clean their poop often. its the poop and pee that stinks the most not usually the ferrets themselves tho they can use a bath every once in a while

  • Ferrets smell terrible!! It's not just them, although they themselves smell like almighty shit to begin with. They shit and piss randomly and often. They will turn around and back up in the corner and spray liquid shit all over your walls. Your friends will talk about you behind your back, about how bad your house stinks. It took me a good year to get that smell out of my house. Their stink is so overwhelming, it out weighs any reason I see for having a ferret.

  • @MrGhostblood

obviously you didn't take very good care of your ferret if it was 'spraying liquid shit' on your walls. =S....and that might be why your house smelled so bad, because you weren't properly educated on how to take care of it. yeah they do their business quite a bit, but that's what litter boxes (and a watchful eye) are for ;)

  • @LunchboxMassacre Why hell yes it was why the house smelled so bad!!! The bottom line is, ferrets need to be left in the wild. When I first had them, I thought they were cool. The first time I realized it was a problem, the ferret had squirt shit into my work boots. There's probably not a time I can remember, when I was more angry. Then, It was licking my nose one day and all of a sudden, it bit my nose. I had to have 158 stitches in my nose.

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @MrGhostblood 158 stitches???, how big is your Nose? pmsl

  • @happyflucker My nose is fucking huge, but thats not the point.

  • my ferrets are very domestic ,

  • i own ferrets, they are not rodents yay, well my ferrets do not bite much , my ferrets are caged they have a big cage but i knew a guy who let his ferret loose, a dog the little guys head off

  • yeah number 7 is totally not true i'm 13 and my 2nd cousins came over there like 4 and 6 years old and all they wanted to do was play with my ferret and they pulled hugged it danced with it was playing tag with it and also dropped him a few times my ferret just let them do it lol

  • @doglover738 but you still have to keep an eye out cuz bones can get broken or internal damage can take place. Ferrets are tuff but thye are still very small and fragile things. You have to remember they are just like little kids. You wouldnt whant a bunch of 16 or 14 year olds playing ruff with your little cousins, they might be tuff but your cousins are still small and can get hurt. So just keep an eye out thats all.

  • Toddlers for 10 fuckin years!! haha which is both funny and bothersome

  • I have had three different ferrets not all at the same time. One was a female, and the other two were males. They all were descented and they all still stink. I bathe and clean their cage once a week and they still smell. I like my ferrets but they most certainly always have a smell no matter what. I couldnt imagine only bathing them once a month.

  • @curly364 That's your main problem, bathing them weekly. Every time you bathe them, their skin produces the oil that makes the smell even quicker to compensate the loss of oil.

  • And for the creator of this video- descenting is a very cruel and unnecessary procedure that most vets will not do today without a valid medical reason. It in no way alters the scent of the animal itself. What does is diet and a clean environment. And NOT bathing them. When they are bathed, the oils go into overproduction, increasing odour. Only times mine get bathed with shampoo is if they've gotten into something really mucky that won't come off in plain water.

  • @sinneadfert wrong sir it is a safe procedure if the vet is trained to treat ferrets and dietary additives do lessen the stink of waste material but it is necessary if you have a good sense of small cause they smell like dead if you dont remove the glands. when you do they actually have a very unique and somewhat pleasant smell. almost like grape soda

  • @seravox oh and removing the scent glands at the tail prevents many health problems like sceptic infections, impacted feces, and many dietary tract complications.

  • @sinneadfert

Buying a ferret from any STORE, they have to be legally vaccinated and descented. Chains like PETCO, and your local exotic pet store, etc etc.

I dont think descenting is a cruel practice since the original function of the glands is now invalid as they are no longer wild animals. Also bathing them with a special shampoo doesnt make them smell any worse from personal experience. I use specific ferret shampoo for my fuzzies once a month and they smell great!
