I think the best devs this gen by far are platinum games, telltale games, naughty dog and bethesda, and retro studios, all of them seem to get it right and know what everyone wants instead of giving them the finger and changing everything for the sake of change and more money and what not, sega's also done pretty well recently with their sonic games since sonic colours.
Capcom isn't the only one, look at konami, many say they've ruined silent hill beyond recognition, refuse to bring back suikoden, gave the teenage mutant turtles games rights they had to activision and got crappy turtles reshelled game instead of the original, made a subpar rocket knight adventures reboot (which should've had treasure instead of climax at the helm), and now some mgs fans are raging at mgr and cv fans aren't happy nothing was done on it's anniversary.
@wesker100000000 Silent Hill Downpour looks good, at least not as crap as Silent Hill 4. as for MGR, some people better do some research & watch the truth behind Rising. simply, Kojima have one major project & one side project, Rising is just one side project that he gave to his new team, but it lacks of what they want, by working together with Plantinum is a good thing, it fits with Raiden's action, hack&slash like in MGS4, so Kojima can fully concentrate on MGS5.
i love the video, too bad the Bayonetta didnt get the sales it deserved. add to that how buggy and bad was on the playstation3, great game i love it i beat it twice, i think in terms on gameplay is better than God of War 3..... Vanquish, Bayonetta and Shadows of the Damned are all great games any true gamer should play them
Bayonetta is a work of art and I hope that we see a sequel to that game. They truly need to make an anime out of the Bayonetta game ASAP!! Have you ever drawn Bayonetta seeing that that is one of your favs?
We all know if Hideki Kamiya was still with Capcom, DMC5 would well on it's way into manifested existence. I really wanted DMC to move foward from DMC2 since it's the lastest chapter in the series
@Drenn23 I just wish the capcom head of directors would all quit and tell the entire world they are money hungry bitches who deserve to burn in a pitt of fire, and let the old team run Capcom... and I want a fucking apology from them for EMO MAY CRY!
@ImSoThrowed1 Dude the first time I booted my Dreamcast... My jaw was on the floor.. it was so fucking bad ass... the "wow" factor was really there day one... when I bought my ps2 not so much, but I knew there was going to be a ton of must haves for it later on.. and a year later they started to trickle in.. lol!
Twisted Metal Black, Silent Hill 2, Onimusha, Dmc... and so on...
Nintendo is beast... period!
gaming is what it should be with them.. good, solid innocent fun!
@ImSoThrowed1 Hey bro from all the research I've been doing on Kamiya, I keep finding him teasing Bayonetta 2... he keeps doing it alot actually... I'm betting on it man.. maybe this is the reason he's not working on MGR... would make sense.. If its true I will be hyping the hell out of it. lol...
no lie bro.. it would be cool if there would one day be a Dante and Bayo team up... that would be sick as fuck! lol...
To understand Capcom you have to understand Asia. Unlike the western world, Asia is still under the impression that sports, video gaming, movies, and anything that has to do with entertainment should not cost a lot of money. So when you have programmers who see the big money in American companies who spend blockbuster budget on gaming..it is obvious the better talent will leave Japanese companies. Blaming Capcom is like blaming Asian sense of priority.
@GlockNinja Not really it's just a different culture, the games that Asia is into, is very different from us. They are weird spiky hairs etc. As for the programmers they leave the companies and form there own company. But the games they make are not first person shooters. Or big graphics into a gameplay. Asia's market is very different.
Asia is more into MMORPG like World of Warcraft and many other RTS games. RTS is king in Asia. Just look at Startcraft still gets play to this day.
@Eddiepsp Yes..it is a different culture. And that culture is that they do not or did not believe in investing so much money in game development. Those great games in the past were done by people who made very little money, except for the few. And those nimble hands are now all working for American companies that pay a lot more with benefits. The actual gaming style has very little to do with it. Japanese games evolve slower now because of lack of talent in the field.
@GlockNinja Some of your great foreign actors like Russell Crow, Mel Gibson, etc were making pennies compared to money they are now making as US actors. No matter how talented you are, you are only good as the company willing to spend the money to make you a commercial success. And what I am saying is that in Japan, even though games become commercial success, the workers who made the games make very little money compared to what US workers make. So the talent there leaves for US companies.
@GlockNinja Well Asia is one of the places that 2D games still get play a lot. There is a lot of gameplay elements in those 2D games. However do to the far west graphics mentality it usually doesn't get a change at all. As for Square Enix they suck. Making CG games like watching a movie than actually the gameplay is just very retarded in my opinion. Atlus kicks there ass in the JRPG's than Square. And they are just using old school 2D. S.Korea is making better J-RPG than Square in 2D for PC. LOL
So then why does Capcom a Japanese Company do more DLC then any other developer out there? If the impression that entertainment should not cost a lot of money then Capcom is an exception to the rule. Selling 3DS games $10 higher and ridiculous amounts of DLC.
@BLACKB0ND I'm sure how Capcom does business here in the US is a little different than in Japan. A lot of things we put up with and pay for, a typical Asian consumer would literally go after store managers and company executives. Example: If you go to a movie theater in Korea and decide to buy pop corn or any other concession...it will cost you no more or no less than what it cost on the street. So I'm sure Capcom will eventually do business like American companies to keep up with cost of
@Hellhound30x uh, where in the world are you getting the impression that I am defending or praising Capcom? I am agreeing with you that Capcom has gone down hill. I am only offering explanations as to why i think they have lost the edge as a game developer. I was not talking about their business practice. I was talking about good talent leaving them to go work else where.

@GlockNinja oh wow... you're so full of contradiction its not even funny bro.
Capcom is the first company to start charging for "DLC" when its on the disc already.
Resident evil 5 with the versus mode?
How about Marvel vs capcom? three different versions of the game...
Capcom is money hungry.. not to mention the countless re-releases of games like
Resident evil which has been on every single platform... and so on...
Don't come at me with that failed theory bro...
capcom shit on them
