The spine is the part of the book facing you when it's on the shelf. If you open the book, there usually is sort of an opening between the spine and the pages. That's where you can put the rope through... Good luck. ;)

u can after it dries. it just gets puffy. but if u the ink might run if wrote in pen or marker.

I have the book too. mine is way more broken than yours! I had to make holes in the spine and stick yarn through them to hold the book together!
