I got my own record player when I was 10 years old (in 1986). I bought "Have a good time but get out alive" and "Love's so tough" for a buck each and blasted both of those albums. I was a 10 year old with a Mullet blasting "Iron City Houserockers" much to the chagrin of Brian Adams and Billy Joel loving mother-figures
Saw the Iron City Houserockers for the first time in January 1980 in Clarion. Saw them 2 more times in Clarion and then at Champaign Illinois (I believe at Mabel's) when I was in grad school. Great Great Band!
One of the sickest songs ever. I'm 26 and this song came out before I was born, but I happened to read about them in a old Rolling Stone and lucked out.
the only good album....lp...finland...jc = gooooood !! missa vitussa on taa sama ennen punkkia ollu asenne.. vittumullaoli ford458..mut nyt o gm440 bu gs
Saw the Houserockers at IUP from '82-87. Also saw Norm Nardini & The Tigers, The Silencers and Donnie Iris & The Cruisers. Love 80s Pittsburgh rock! Go Black & Gold!!
I remember buying a promo single for "Hideaway" and being hooked on the band's music. I believe this particular song (and possibly the entire album) was produced by Miami "Little" Steven Van Zant (Bruce Springsteen and Southside Johnny).
Iron City Housrockers at the Decade between 1977 and 1982 was another world. Back then, anything went and it was an unbelievable watching this great burgeoning band with a record contract going national. If you were there at that time you know how great and fun it was. Those were the days!
A great little compilation of one of rock and roll's best kept secrets and one of the best pure rock and roll songs that you'll ever hear. It's a 'burg thing--love live Joe Grushecky and every Housrerocker from the 70's to present day.

I was there from 77-81. Greatest rock scene in Burgh history bar none. My ears are still ringing "CHIP AND THE BOYS"

I saw them live in 1981 at the Scorpion in State College, PA - they played "Old Man Bar" and "Junior's Bar" as a medley ... fine memory.

The Scorpion! Used to go there a lot in the 80's. Do you remember HARPO?

Sorry, I don't. I didn't go out that way very often. I only went that night because the ICHR were playing.
