David Fincher is one of my favorite directors. After brilliant Seven, Alien 3, Fight Club and Panic Room I had to watch Zodiac too. It was real challenge cause the story is based on true events. The whole film was good but still not what I'd expect. The atmos[here wasn't as scary/thrilling as it was in The Silence of the Lambs, Copycat, Seven or even The Zodiac (version 2005 with Justin Chambers & Robin Tunney). Anyway Mark Ruffalo showed brilliant acting. Gyllenhaal & Downey Jr. were great too

I love this movie but this trailer isn't a very good one. The music made it seems like a 50s comedy about crimework. This film is very tense and this trailer didn't capture that at all.

@GracelessDementor I think the music fits perfectly. It gives the movie a sort of bittersweet feeling. The movie isn't supposed to be scary, necessarliy. Its supposed to be about obsession on both sides.

I love how Fincher has evolved, with Zodiac and Social Network he just takes the backseat and lets the story flow itself. What a contrast with Fight Club and Se7en, I like those movies too, but I think his latest work is more mature.

that scene where he ties up the 2 by the lake.. the way you could see the knife goes into their body multiple times is burned into my head.. you knew it was coming.. but unlike most horror movies,slashers etc.. it felt so real.. and you gotto love the movie is somewhat based on the truth..always a big bonus

amazing movie!!

i knew this was based on the actual case, but i didnt realize this much!

almost everything is fact. the characters, evidence, suspects, witnesses, events, ...the meetings..., the letters, pictures.. everything! loved seeing this in a hollywood movie. its almost a documentary.

and the book that graysmith is writing at the end of the movie is what this movie is acually based on... which i thought was cool

@hate420breed damn right!... first you have a movie like Se7en that its completely original.. then Fight Club, that, while it is based on a book, then I'd say is a 2 artists work (even if they've work seperatly) and a true piece of genious art ... BUT THEN you got THIS!.. "based on true events" type of movie... not good.

Even if i consider this movie as one of my favorites, i still have to take out some credit to david fincher for doing something thats not all about art. :S
