  • So are you ever gonna get to those hills in the background that can somehow be seen from several hundred kilometers away?

  • Skyrim= 25 sq miles

Oblivion= 16 sq miles ( without Summerset Isles)

    Hammerfell= 64,394 sq miles

And the Tamriel map makes no sense at all.

  • This game is bigger than Xbox

  • Daggerfall is JUST AS GOOD as Skyrim and Morrowind and A HELL OF A LOT BETTER THAN THAT PIECE OF SHIT GAME: OBLIVION! If you like ANY of the Elder Scrolls games then you MUST PLAY DAGGERFALL! It is the game that set the tone for the entire series and the one that I consider the most true to the series! Dagger IS the Elder Scrolls embodied!

  • Todd: See those mountains over there you can climb that, its no backdrop.

Gamer: What about that big mountain right there?

    Todd: No thats a backdrop.

  • How long did this take, without the fast-forward effect?

  • That skybox looks pretty stupid.

  • @Ninja1Ninja2 It's more of a sky-cylinder.

  • oblvion music

    ahhh

  • @travro25 I agree they need to have a good balance

  • Whats the cheat? I want to try

  • Daggerfall's world is big...but it will be a pain in the butt to travel....I mean...it's gonna hours just to get to one place without cheat....

  • @Patches7034 Fast travel

  • I think that horse had a preaty good dose of Skooma.

  • I think a good world size would be about 4-5 times as large as skyrim.

  • @DJBranden 4-5.... dude this game was the size of great britain (if not bigger) its atleast 1000 times bigger than skyrim

  • @oSaamxD

my point is in skyrim i felt like i was getting from place to place too fast and the towns were FAR too small, if the towns were allowed to be 5 times larger then id actually feel like it was a town, not a small camp with giant walls.

  • that horse has a mad amount of fatigue

  • Would've been awesome if Skyrim and Oblivion had the size of Daggerfall

  • if this was in slo mo the video would be like 4 days long

  • Why don't they just combine content density - where relevant - with huge size? Have cities and towns and caves be fleshly and rich but have each separated by miles upon miles of generated land where instead of seeing 'a' deer every 20 ft, we see a herd of buffalo in some undiscovered pasture. You could have the player walk up on to where random battles between factions are taking place, and so forth.

I appreciate Skyrim, but trying to inject every square foo with eye candy is redundant.

  • They say this game is twice the size of Great Britain

  • SQUADALA!

  • Comment removed

  • The game world is so randomly generated that you could tell me that you looped the same video over and over and I would believe you.

  • WTF did i just watch this... and why did i like it?

  • Is the world in Daggerfall generated procedurally or is it completely random?

  • What's the name of the music in the backround?

  • Lol imagine if they remade this with Skyrim graphics :D

  • Wow, no stutter.

  • looks like crappy fall . Now i get why Morrowind was such a big hit

  • @LennoxGR It was released in 1996. What you're saying is essentially "Man, doom had such shitty graphics, I don't get why anyone would play it"

  • @LennoxGR whats cool is that this game has such a large gameworld, and this is just a small part of it.

Morrowind and oblivion are soo much smaller but more detailed to create better graphics

  • i find it shockign that out of all th games now days...its this old game that is the biggest open world game ever made... its jstu shocking

  • I hope Skyrim has a big world;)

  • Lucius(creator of DaggerXL) is planning on a draw distance of 200 miles, as well as computer generated terrains to give some life to the world. Imagine how breath taking the view would be from the Dragontail mountains. I'll definitely want to remake this video in DaggerXL once it is finished.

  • there is an amazing mod that redefines the generation of the world that daggerfall has, its really amazing, i can't get it running though =[ but obviously other people can, its called daggerfalXL, you can find it in moddb dot con, it improves the landscape, add random enemys(that daggerfal doesn't have) add improved textures and stuff like that =}

  • My only real dissapointment with this game is the lack of wildlife roaming. It would make roaming actually a bit entertaining.

  • ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM!

  • It's a shame that Oblivion lacks this king of scale. I would love to have enough space for actual travelling from time to time.

  • wow, this game is really big :O

  • one million bugs to the person finding pedobear in this vid!

  • Daggerfall's land is a lot bigger (30K times), but you travel by horse from place to place. The land in the middle is very barren. Not to discredit Daggerfall, but in content density, Oblivion gets it, although the cramped world can be unbelievable (throw a rock in any direction and you land on an ancient dungeon - I'm surprised they don't know every single thing about the akavirians).

I think Morrowind had a good balance.

  • @shikaguy Yeah, but Morrowind is 0.01% of Daggerfall's land ;)

  • sooo, is it just me, or is there absolutely NO life in the wilderness...

  • what is the point of all this empty space? how does it make the game better?

  • danm high rock, you big

  • And this is why you shouldn't give your horse skooma.

But still, damn you, Daggerfall. It's been nearly 15 years now, and I'm still obsessed with you. Lately, I've been wondering about converting the game into a tabletop RPG of sorts. Maybe if I start with the isle of Betony, or maybe Balfiera, and I might finish before another 15 years are gone...

  • Best 6 minuites of my life.

  • The two legged horse gets 1923481725x more legs? xP

  • after you hit that wall it look like you were flying

  • one mighty fine horse there.. it goes about 90 m/ph on one horsepower :P

  • Could you define Daggerfall world in scale compared to oblivion? by the end of the vid u should have run around the border of oblivion 10 times XD

  • @Alexanderstuve Yep, Daggerfall's gameworld is more than 30,000 times the size of Oblivion.

  • @numidium3 yea hated how small es4: oblivion was, I've never played ES1 or 2 but ES3 was quite huge, though I can see now that ES2 was even bigger, though it's pretty much the same everywhere compared to all the different environments in ES3

  • @tore650 LOL Oblivion's landmass was 1.5x the size as Morrowinds

  • @tore650 well you can always download elsweyr mod to add some extra room to your oblivion

  • @numidium3 Lie.

  • @numidium3 And Oblivion is 1.5 Morrowinds... damn. This game is as empty as universe.

  • @numidium3 how about arenas? 6million square kilometers :D

  • @numidium3 But less than half isn't copied over 30,000 times x3

  • @numidium3 I have a question, is Arena bigger than Daggerfall? Because I know only one site that claims Daggerfall is the largest, but I've played Arena and know that it takes 10+ hours to get between towns without fast travel. Plus, Arena is all of Tamriel.

  • @numidium3 Do you recommend this game?

  • @vilchisss Yes, I do.

  • @Alexanderstuve I've heard that if you'd walk through Daggerfall, at normal speed I mean, it would take about 2 weeks in our time.

  • @Alexanderstuve Morrowind world is bigger 6x times than Cyrodill in Oblivion. And its only Vvardenfell part

  • @Crox300 Not really, Vvardenfell is about 26 km² and Cyrodiil 41 km².

  • @hitmanguy345 Buhahaha, that was the most stupid thing what I ever heard

  • @hitmanguy345 thats bullshit

  • @Crox300 Not really.

  • @Alexanderstuve Cyrodiil is my hometown. Daggerfall is Great Britain.

  • 1:29 my ass

  • What game is this?

  • @pokemonmasteralex Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall

  • for your sanity's sake i hope you just put something on your move forward key and wasnt actually holding it down all this time <_<
