Only thing i really liked about Super Paper Mario was the new battle sequences. The whole "Battle Stage" thing was annoying. But i still love Paper Mario (Yes they original) the Best, it was like the ultimate game when i was a kid. I just hope they release a Paper Luigi game next, one that follows his story from Thousand Year Door perhaps? Who knows...

this game is the best one in the series. i played the thousand year door and got fed up of it taking 5 minutes just to kill one enemy! not to mention the boss battles are all the same. i am a gamer that loves platformers, and cool boss battles! oh and at least water doesnt kill you in this game.

I'm sure this game has it's moments, but I still prefer Paper Mario 64. It's beta title was Super Mario RPG 2, so the long turn-based fights were kind of meant for it. It was nice for fans of the SNES game. Plus, the N64 one was loaded with nostalgic Mario stuff, the story was played out humorously, and the areas and different townsfolk became very likeable. I like TTYD too, but it added a ton to the paper idea and a less colorful Rogueport, so the end feeling just isn't as memorable as N64.

I still prefer the RPG styled fighting in Paper mario TTYD because i found it really awesome with the stage and audeince and stuff always swinging the battle a bit, like how they throw rocks at you and varias bosses use the audience to heal/attack mario.

I felt that this a great Paper Mario game. Their isn't anything wrong with these new controls. Besides if stomp on an enemy in Paper Mario you'd have to go in a battle with the enemy, in Super Paper Mario you'd just stomp the enemy and move along rather than waste your time fighting an enemy that you already stomped. Thumbs up if you agree this isn't a bad Paper Mario game.

@liveinnewyork Finally someone who isn't obsessed with RPG battles. Super Paper Mario doesn't have RPG battles because they waste time. You get Level Up when you kill enough enemies on your way to the finish. That's how it should be. @coolboy1759 right, i agree, but i love the old style rpg turn based battles. they felt better to me, because paper mario was orriginally designed as a turn based rpg, and thats what i love about the series. i found that this version had the best storyline, but i did not like the gameplay, due to the fact that i was looking forward to another turn based battle system. This game is by far my least favorite of the series, but in no way am i saying that it is a bad game!

If there's going to be an SPM2, here's what I'm expecting: *No turn-based battles...since it has the name "Super"... *Flower Points, Badge Points, and Star Power *More and harder bosses *More side quests *Make the Hammer involved the most in the game *Make level ups increase only HP, FP, and BP *Bring back the Jump and Hammer upgrades... *If there are gonna be other players instead of Mario, make them balanced. *Bring back the Strange Sack from PM2...they have to... to be continued...
