Ye the Piano/Conductor is of its time where chords were substituted to save time in the transcription department! In my opinion its in 'B' because it starts with a two bar VAMP of Seasons - under dialogue after a major shift in the onstage action, so I guess the key is there to help keep the interest - Also we hear Seasons 3 times in the show so a different key to Eb is welcome!
hey, im having a little trouble trying to sing along to it, coz im doing this for music gcse...and i was just wondering wherre the vocal starts? x x x
@Stalkergirl123 how he is playing it in the video is much faster than the movie version or any version you might have heard. That's what the sheet music calls for though. you would start singing "live in my house" when he plays the 3rd chord [5 seconds into the song]
if you could, could you please send me the sheet musc or tell me where to buy it?
i'm singing this for a school concert in a few weeks, its for a teacher whos baby has a terminal illness and i guess this song fits, so it would be really helpful if you could :)
The conductor's score leaves a lot to the imagination. I don't know why it was written in B... just to be annoying I guess. As for the Fmb5 7, it follows naturally from the E, you did it in your video. The f# at the end... I wouldn't make a video tutorial about it, though.
The one thing I noticed was your chords at the end, the aM, G#m, F#m, E.. they are the chords from Seasons of Love. I don't know how it was in the musical, but it might sound better that way.
@Jackplayz4 This is great! I know your problems with the key etc but is there any chance you could do a tutorial anyhows? I play but I don't read well so it would be muched appreciated. I am a great fan of RENT and have always wanted to learn to play this song. Even just an over head few of you playing it slowly would help. Thanks for your time :)
very cool, i sang this recently. can you please post a tutorial video and then tell me when its up, i'd love to be able to play it. thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are there different Rent sheet music books? Because I'm trying to find one online and it seems like it doesn't have the reprise of "I'll Cover You."

Hi, Thanks for all the nice comments - to answer a few questions:
1. The sheet music is from the original piano/conductor score.
2. I would do a tutorial, only the song is in B Major a hard key to try and teach anything in and it uses strange chrds like F#mb5 7
Thanks again for watching!
