@neoncheese1 Yes! The Exorcist is still effective today as one of the most influential horror films and Insidious was a real underdog of 2011! I loved both of them.
I thought this movie was just way too generic. Nothing really stood out for me except the father of the little girl I thought was pretty good. I would never spend money on the movie but for instant netflix it was a good find. Just a way too generic movie about an evil kid. waste of a solid cast
Nice review. Why don't you work on your editing skills. You basically edit every one of your sentences. Get in right the first time before you rain shit down on someone else.
I give it 4 out of 5 stars; I'd agree with as low as 3.5. I genuinely do not understand all the negativity this film gets. The scares do go with the plot. Realizing she is a demon and responsible for the deaths of your dearest friends, "GET OUT OF MY HOUSE (YOU LITTLE DEMON)!" Then she gets up, face distorts, turns blue, pitch lowers with chorus, "DON'T YELL AT ME!" That scare fits in. One thing I agree with you on is unrealistic timing--the adoption went from "impossible" to she's moving in.
I just got done watching this drawn out movie and honestly, I totally agree with you. I expected EVERYTHING to happen that did happen, the whole Oh look! random angry dog at the window and the alarm clock that went off were totally lame scare tactics. Honestly, halfway through I wanted to fast forward it just so I can see how it ends and be done with it. GAH! It was so LONG!!! @_@ I liked the ending however. (SPOILER!!!)Nothing special, I just like it when the killer dies for real and for ever!
@Commingforyou I was referring to before sh*t hit the fan, not after. Obviously she would try to intervene after she saw what the parents tried to do. But before that the case wasn't really anything special.
@SaintTheSlayer Haha - I did feel mean when I re-read my comment. I must have been feeling very hateful when I left that message so soz. I must disagree with your review though. I think that the reason I enjoyed this film so much was that I went into it knowing nothing about it. That's always the best way to view a film:) It's like with Terminator 4, I couldn't wait for it so I was watching trailers and teaser clips and believing the hype... and... then (well you know the rest) Ignorance is blis
This movie made me laugh so hard. I'm going to assume every child that gets abused is a demon now...I'm kidding but seriously this movie was just dumb. I wouldn't have brought her home with me, I mean look at her that kid looks creepy. Funny Review :)
@SaintTheSlayer i didnt think it was that bad. i enjoyed it. wasn't really scary but it wasn't as bad as everyone is makeing it seem. i thought it was pritty good
@SaintTheSlayer i thought it was one of the better horrors last yr. its too bad this flopped like hatchet 2 or let me in . and garbage like paranormal activity 2 or my soul to take actually make plenty of money.this genreation complains alot about horror movies. but some how dont relize that all the so called legends are b-movies . pick up house of the devil ,trick r treat ,shuttle ,or end of the line. skip devil.
I thought the movie was okay I wish the little girl was more controlling though
