• Sounds like the nickelodian scale. With a demolished run at the end.

  • legend

  • Albert Lee é muito bom mesmo.

    meu video

    watch?v=Zb_e19F-Vro

  • met him a couple times a few years ago after shows! great guitarist

  • sorry if this a stupid question but is he using an open tuning?

  • @swing8th nope. standard

  • I'll tell you one thing(thats all I know)When he gets his technique together he is going places...With the right teacher i mean. :>D

  • what scales is he using?

  • @Django5198 He mixes don know which ones but there are many chromatics sometimes

  • I actually met Albert Lee's cousin today in the local park whilst walking my dog.

  • Omg!!!!! Fuck this video!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Albert is among the fews of the history: Jimi Hendrix, Roy Buchanan, Jeff Beck, Gary Moore, SRV.

  • @1974romina dont forget Steve Howe

  • @1974romina Albert is a better player than all those other guitarists you mentioned though.

  • my hero

  • this sounds great

  • if bilbo baggins could play guitar......

  • I'm not one for name dropping' but when I met, and spoke to, Jerry Reed in 1974 in Nashville, he was raving about Albert back then!

  • sounds fucking killer xD

  • legend, what a clean sound...

  • Fucking bad ass guitar! Love it!

  • I've never seen a signature model guitar look so much like the artist's face... Was it intentional?

  • @mcadarette Oh my god, that cracked me up!

  • Albert Lee is just brilliant.

  • Woah!!!!!!!!! this guy is awesome...

  • Genius!

  • A genius !

  • picking + fingers = fantastic!

  • king albert lee!

  • fantastic playing one of my favs

  • Old school??..he might be old...but he sounds about as old as a flying car to me...!!

  • Some guys are wired up different than most others and he is genius He is beginning to look more like Albert Einstein as he matures--hmmm.

  • now thats some chicken picking!

  • i like his guitar its cooll lookin

  • If you love Albert Lee then you will definitely enjoy Robert Randolph!! Robert Randolph is playing with Albert lee at crossroads this Saturday! Be sure to check out Robert and his newest CD that came out this past week!! When he shreds on the pedal steel guitar, you can’t help but feel the music run through your body! Be sure to check him out at his name dot net.

  • @musiclover360table I disagree: I love Albert Lee, & have since "Heads Hands & Feet", '71. Robert Randolph? Eh... Ok, I guess. He tends to go for excitement over musicality, which wears thin after a short while. I hear no similarities between the two.

  • I want to learn some of his stuff...it's beautiful. BTW I stumbled across an Ernie Ball Music Man Axis Supersport at Dixie guitar trader and it is SO FINE. takes a whole page to list all the good qualities. the neck is this rock hard piece of birdseye maple unlike any I've seen..super comfy neck, plays nnd stays in tune, etc.

  • Fantástico Albert Lee.

  • anyone try to use their right hand pinky to fingerpick?...it's so WRONG

  • @synesthesia67

    Oh yeah.

He's just got great great hands-- I'll let HIM do the pinky picking.

  • @psychkoala yeah...me too man...

  • he is sooo cool and what a world class guitarist he's playing in axminster on monday. I'm so going there.

  • HYBRID PICKING! Love it.

  • great picking.

  • generic reply proclaming awesomeness...

  • sounds like ww the garden orchestra com

  • Its a Ernie Ball Albert Lee signature. I think?

  • Your right, Musicman makes his own signiture guitar.

  • What type of guitar does Lee use? It sounds like a cross between a good strat and an awsome tele. I love it!! It's got a wavy twang but a good solid rock sound too.

  • Lets see Synster Gates do tht mwahaha lolz

  • thats too complex for him.

  • The best country picker there will ever be!!!

  • Albert Lee

  • If you can play like him you´re never old school!

  • if anyone is interested in his music, check out my channel I just uploaded his whole album called hiding

  • grrr man he makes me want to break my gear he's so dang good

  • Albert is always going to be a tough act to follow. So far no one's little pinkie does it better. Shout out to him and fam. Anne & George up in the San Juans

  • This dude inspired George Lynch to go clean instead of rape the distortion

  • Lynch has never had an identity. The guy has spent his life chasing everybody else.

  • He knows who he is <3 God

  • You sir.....Fail.

  • Lynch...fails.

  • The king of Chickin' Pickin'

  • Now I know from whom Zakk Wylde was influenced with chicken picking.... from this MASTER!

  • Saw him and Hogans heros last week! I got autografs and pictures and talked! His a nice guy. Abit shy though. But Sweet country guitar player!

  • just saw him in dartford mc jagger centre, absolute master, loved it to bits

  • I saw Albert Lee and Hogan heroes in finland, back in 90´s

  • an amazing guitarist, I'm going to see a private masterclass with him in dover next week on tuesday, only cost me £7.50 for a ticket, can't wait to meet the man himself!

  • damn, can I come?

  • Saw Albert last night at the James Burton Guitar Festival, and he blew me away. The old guy is as good as he ever was.

  • Hey can someone tell me like the tuning to get that Bluegrass kind of sound. Is it tuned up? Because i love to play blues and stuff and i don't think it ever really sounds right or my tunes that i create dont sound like this so can someone help me?

  • I'm pretty sure it's in standard. Just mess with some amp settings.

  • LIke any guitar style, blues, bluegrass, country, jazz has to do as much with phrasing, pick attack, and feel as the scales and notes. It's not just a matter of tuning your guitar to a certain tuning. For instance, some country guitarists use a nashville tuning, however, others use a standard tuning and still get that "country" sound. In other words, it takes years of practice to play in a bluegrass style.

  • Hey Bullet.. I might be guessing..but you're thinking how to play "T Bird to Vegas". Albert is using open strings. On songs in the past he used a B-Bender.And on some of his classics he uses an echoplex to double his solos..but always he is influenced by James Bryant ..the King of Swing..the reason the Tele exists

  • Albert Lee is the U.K.s version of Jerry Reed, Waylon Jennings & some of the guys out of Bakersfield. He's keeping the chicken pickin' style alive over there. It's great! What's interesting, too, is that he's inspired a lot of different European bands to mix country (w/ the chicken pickin style) and metal together. Now, if only we would be as innovative in the U.S.!......

  • Hey guys check out my limited edition first act dixie rebel

  • i got alberts "instructional" dvd and gotta say how disappointed i was. not too good at communicating his ideas but still phenomenal playing though. just wish some of his licks were shown better on the vid

  • gotta love old school chops ... taste

  • Marvellous guitarist, checkm out my old vintage yamaha on my link

  • i saw him play earlier today at my little school hall! He was fantastic but I don't know why he wanted to play there!

  • I also witnessed this great gig and feel we should be privelaged he is willing to come and play in KBT. Of course his real reason for visiting was to hear Doug and David play at the after show party ;0)

  • so its like a well known guitar in country?

i like more rock blues, and i watched crossroads guitar festival and saw him chickin pickin and it sounds good lol

  • can anyone tell me what guitar that is?

kinda looks like a fender but maybe im totally rong.

  • Yup, you're wrong :) this is an Ernie Ball Music Man Albert Lee Sigature Guitar

  • its a music man.

he had it specially built so he could take it on planes with him, it fits in the overhead storage.

he used to buy a spare seat for his guitar.

  • Fans of Albert Lee may like to check out: Luxury Liner Old Grey Whistle Test also: Country Boy Emmylou Harris + Albert Lee

  • just listen

  • I don't understand, where's the ego ?, he should have one the size of a mountain. It goes to show, those who can "Do the business" don't have one and what's more, don't need one !.

  • walk softly and carry a big stick.

  • isnt it talk softly?

  • I don't think it is. but hey if the message is the same then it works

  • Speak softly and carry a big stick

  • With six strings attached to it.

  • Excellent point.

  • Now that's skill right there.

  • thats it! thats what sets him apart from all the rest. that picking right hand pinky thing. or seemingly approaching the guitar as a banjo player almost.

  • the albert einstein of country

  • he looks a bit like albert einstein

  • some people are just born with a god-given talent.. Albert is one of them. He stands alone, and he is just too cool of a human being too. Humble, nice, never without a guitar or two in his trunk just in case soemone invites him to jam. *lol*

  • This style is just fun to listen to.

  • Holy §$% shit. Everyone goes on and on about how hybrid picking is the new hot thing, and this guy has been doing it, pinky 'n' all, for 40 years now. What a wonderful musician.

  • I saw him at NAMM in '91 with Eddie Van Halen and Steve Morse. They were doing a 3-way call and response and it got silly. Finally, after about 15 minutes Albert decides, "OK chumps, follow THIS" and takes off. Eddie laughs his head off and Steve's jaw drops. It was one of the coolest guitar moments I have ever witnessed.

  • Would love to have seen that! I can't imagine what it would take to impress Steve Morse.

  • There are alot of great guitarists out there, many with special techniques of their own such as Eddie Van Halen etc., but note for note, pick for pick, nobody can touch Albert Lee in my opinion. This guy is a musical prodigy with no peers.

  • Ron Thal, Guthrie Govan, Shawn Lane?

  • I think the most amazing thing that seperates him from his peers is that everything just seems so effortless, his guitar seems more familiar to him than most peoples hands do to themselves.

  • My name is darius scheider !

i love fried chicken ,check it out!

  • My name's Albert Lee too

  • Albert is one of those guys who sounds fantastic even when they're just trying to demonstrate a few "easy things"...one of the best players on the planet.

  • yeah! holy shit thats amazing fuckin tone!

  • man, regardless any music style someone likes, someone who knows about music has to admit that this guy is a fuckin' monster!!!

  • Met him in meath at his gig, 100 people, fucking amazing with hogans heros

  • chicken dady

  • He's got a great sound

  • Ive seen him live and also met him 4.9.08!

    He was amazing!

  • Thanks Albert saw you with the Everly Bros. in London 2--6 and you were so wonderful and gracious when we had dinner together. Barbara

  • Albert is the BEST, I don't care what your musical taste is, if you cannot appreciate this man and his music, you must not have a soul

  • Eric Clapton said Albert is the best in the world. He is a personal frind of a musician that I know here in the city of Newport Beach, Ca... he is always dropping in. So I see him here from thim to time... how lucky can I be. Love this musicbox playing man.

  • This guy is nuts :D

  • write "hernan gonzalez country boy" it's amazing!!

  • What the %^& was that at 1:20! whoa that was intense!

  • albert is super! a great musician and super guy...i was lucky to do an album with him called "in the hills" rock on albert!

  • what? than albert lee? not country no, but I do hate Soulja boy :D

  • albert lee is my favorite guitarist and this is no surprise 2 me, and just a lesson about him he advertises 4 Ernie Ball murchindice

  • a little music history:

albert lee once played guitar so fast hes fingers broke the speed of light, travelled back in time and created rock and roll

  • albert lee istheshit. he knows hes way around the guitar

  • for fingerpicking, does he use his nails or skin?

  • he uses skin.

  • Albert is so goddamn humble. Hard to deal with arrogance when you see a master like this retain his sense of humility. Keep truckin, Albert

  • Yes.

  • ladies and gentlemen, give it up for mr. Albert Lee!

  • is it 7 strings on that guitar? im trying to learn that riff..

just kiddin' man! a little youtube cliche!

  • _:)

  • Beautiful Guitar & Beautiful ALBERT LEE!! AWESOME! xox

  • ugly but beautiful sounding

  • Albert is the best country lead guitar picker of all time !!

  • hybrid picking kicks ass!

  • He's truly the best, but I just don't dig his 'new' sound. He should get his Tele back out of the closet and turn off that queer-sounding chorus pedal.

  • What amp is he using? Great clean sound!

  • such an ugly guitar with such a good sound

    lol

  • He could probably make a bucket with a broom stick and some fishing line attached sound good!

  • Maybe, but this is really an excellent guitar

  • I know..just a little sarcastic humor and a way of saying..Man!..This Guy is Freakin Good!

  • I have always wondered about his choice of the body shape of that guitar. It was custom made for him by Ernie Ball Music. I have always wondered if that design was inspired by Albert's sense of humor. It looks kind of like something that would be in a Flintstones cartoon. ---But it is a TOP NOTCH instrument. I had the pleasure of playing one of them once, and I hope to be able to afford one some day.

  • eff he's so good!

  • Albert Lee is one of the best guitarists I have ever heard! He has still got his talent now!

  • nob hound you sure can play the blues

  • Please can you tell me where to get more of this and where it is from . What is total guitar tv, and where is it available? Thanks.

  • total guitar is a mag.... the videos are usually in a cd...

  • One Of The Greatest /I Thought he played a tele

  • He does normally, but he notes later in the vid he decided to bring his signature guitar in to record

  • weird looking guitar, but great sound.

  • It's a Ernie Ball Albert Lee Signature model. Great guitar.

  • Thought it was a Music Man ?

  • Ernie Ball owns the Music Man brand. Albert had a signature model. Great player.

  • Thanks for info.

  • This bloke is amazing. And for a Brit to be top of the shop playing country is some achievement.

  • It's been this way for years, he among only a handful of others. I'm just glad he's there to represent you guys in country talent over Jimmy Page (listen to "Hot Dog" on In Through the Out Door if you don't already know what I'm referring to).

  • great insight into his technique, had a nice chat with mr Lee after a gig he played in Inverness, Lovely guy

has alot of time for fans

  • Are you friggin kidding?????? Inverness and Point Reyes is one of my favorite places on the planet, and to throw Albert in too??? I would be ready to die after an axxperience of that magnitude

  • Thanks for posting this. The guy is a genius.

  • A glimpse of what this master is capable of.What a good taste!
