For treatment of the moral dilemmas facing the soldier, please take a look at my series of short stories, entitled PROWL, available in paperback or ebook from Amazon.com.
WOW....brings back many memories. Was with K75th 69-70 active in field on Romeo 6 - 11 -12 15 (others I can't remember) until chopper crash in 6/70 than night RTO until DEROS. I vaguely remember some of the guys in this video and I certainly remember Luther Doss and Willard, Lyne, and Roth. Sadly I also remember Roller - Silve - Smolarek - Bartholomew and several others. Most of my 24? missions were with Kincade, Paris, and Jones........Great video - brings it all back again
It does bring it all back, and I have recently relived some of those times by writing about them and publishing five short stories as part of a single collection called "Prowl". Check it out on Amazon dot com.
A Ranger is no stranger to danger! Looked like home to me...Co.C., 75th Infantry (Airborne Ranger) 70-71. 173rd Airborne Brigade/1st Field Forces. TDYed as a sniper on loan. Thank you for serving, welcome home.
did you know of anyone by the name of lietenant Stephen Allen Long? he was 75th Rangers- 4th Infantry and was Awarded a Bronze Star. I'm trying to find out some information about my unlce. i never met him he died in 2004 from a house fire... thanks
Realy great vid. But may I ask a question. In every book witch I red (LRRP members memoire), LRRP team on every mission did there work not like on your video, because you were smiling, talking, get meal together, walked on an open space. It wasnt so dangerous?
@obholmen In terms of the "philosophy" of focusing your attention..what would be the wisest thing you could give me as advice..if i theoretically were to be going to war in a few months time?
I know terrain and mentality is different from that time, but I'm talking about the mentality of survival
I learned a lot from Hathcock in terms of "Staying in your bubble, complete and utter mental focus"
Extraordinary footage.

Does anyone that was in Kco LRRPS, remember Larry Lucas. He was also with AIR ASIA as a contractor after his military service.

A second chopper was circling to pick us up, and you can see how the two then flew together back to base.

Great footage.
Was the camera part of every mission?

@kanukster
No. I participated in 25-30 missions, but the camera was only part of the two shown in this clip.
