I love possums! Its REALLY rare for them to be rabid, They are actually one of the CLEANEST animals! Scientist observed them cleaning themselves several times during ONE meal! They don't want to harm you. They will either hiss or growl or "play possum" (but they will play dead at last resort.) They are preditors to almost ANYTHING. Including snakes, birds, and EVEN dogs, cats AND humans. These animals are very misunderstood. :) <3

Hey everyone! I see many questions about caring for an orphaned baby opossum! I work at a Wildlife Rehab clinic and possums are one of my favorites. The best thing you can do for your baby possum is to find a licensed rehabber near you. If that's not possible, Esbilac (puppy formula) and baby food is what they eat when they're young. It is best to feed them sitting up, since they can aspirate (breathe in the milk) if fed like a baby from a bottle.

He looks a little cross-eyed in some pics, he may have been getting too much fat in his diet @ some pointwhich happens if they eat more than small amounts dog/cat food, or was he just looking at the camera lens? He was probably admiring his handsome healthy reflection.

My wife, Starr and me we love Opossums. We got NIÑO when he was a tiny guy in our backyard -door and stay 11 months with us , we put him in the yard one morning and he go to the wild and didn't comeback like other times. Now, 6 days ago I found in the road to BONITA , a little girl Opossum and now she is part of our family. Your Opossum, CASH is lovely. Thanks for your video.
