Monster Hunter Tri - Barioth (Offline Hunt) - Part 1/2

I managed to take it down using an Ignot helmet, with primarily Jaggi based armor, with a Fire Blade Wyvern Longsword.

what kind of stats does that rathalos armor give you? i have been using full lagiacrus against barioth and he does a lot of damage to me.

Well, it doesn't have any ice resistance, but it's not weak to ice either. However, it does give you Attack Up (M) by default and + Affinity (critical chance up). You can gem it to give you Attack Up (L) too pretty easily. Basically, with Barioth, you don't get many opportunities to attack him, so you want to make the hits you can get in count :) hope that helps.

Wouldn't quite go as far as saying I made it look easy... but there are some tricks for Barioth.. most notably, don't keep your distance if you can, most of his devastating attacks are from long range (like jumping at you, etc) while most of his lesser damaging moves are when you're in his face. Stick to one of his front legs and pummel him, eventually you'll flinch him (allowing for a nice combo). Other than that, try to get round behind him for an easier time :)
