@AQWorldGTR 2 car train, a rare sight these days, since the 48 new cars arrived they've been pairing up the older cars to increase capacity, all MkII trains are 4 cars and all MkI trains are either 4 or 6 cars.
I think i remember taking the expo line when i was in Vancouver. I took the mark 1 and the mark 2 trains. BTW one of the underground station was used as a MAGLEV station on Capirca. I think it was Burrard..... Anyways cool video. My internet is too slow to play HD. Its always laggy in HD...
I imagine a North Line to North Vancouver from Canada Line would be San Francisco BART transbay style tube tunnel under that body of water that the seabus travels which would cost billions.
@TheSubject1157 Yes, they're called linear induction motors, the electric part is on the train, it creates magnetic force that pushes the train along, better acceleration and less stress on the wheels than a conventional motor.
yes you did ask, I said it the first time and I'll say it again, transit yards are private property and unless someone from TransLink gives me permission entering it would be illegal.
when i went to vancouver, the underground stations ;ook like the tube stations.

I hope they build a sky train in north Vancouver and name it the North line. and cenect it to the Canada line.
TheSubject1157 1 year ago
@TheSubject1157 There will never be SkyTrain service to North Van because:
1. The SeaBus is more than enough for when the traffic is bad.
2. There is frequent bus service to and from downtown including service from 60 ft buses provided by West Vancouver Transit via the Lions Gate Bridge.
3. There is not nearly enough traffic in North Van itself to justify an a light rail RT line.
Maybe we'll see a BRT line out there at some point but I see no SkyTrain in North van in the near future.

@VancouversLocalNerd the people up there are too rich to take public transit and North Van's population is stagnant anyways :)

You know the things between the rails are magnets to make the train go.
