  • how does this compare to other construction methods. I am going to begin construction soon, but the placement of the strings is something im conflicted on. some sources say to stretch the strings from the top to the sides about a quarter of the way down, while this fella has them going all the way from top to bottom at a shallow angle

  • The length of everything is most of the time 50 / 30, ur computing wrong

  • What language are you speaking? It sounds like Mongolian.

  • @mprimecoleman , How did you know that?

  • @sodoonbor I have studied a bit of Mongolian overtone singing through my studies in percussion and frame drumming. Many of the videos I've seen on overtone singing feature Mongolian singers explaining their technique in Mongolian (or whatever the proper name of the language is. I'm sorry I don't know). I must say it's pretty strange to see a cajon vid in Mongolian. Are you the one that made the video?

  • @mprimecoleman Very intresting.............. Because of that, I have made this video for Mongolian. Cajon is a strange instrument for Mongolian, but very simple.

  • Ola. As cordas ficam bem encostadas no site front ou fica apenas perto.Quantos milimetros de distancia? Thanx

  • Is he telling people how to make a bomb!?! English please.

  • Very cool, Great job.

  • How much would you charge to make me one for my dance group.

    Thanks

  • is it a 1/4 plyboard? or 1/8? the plyboard that is in front of the cajon...

  • I didn't understand anything but it was helpful to see all things in detail.

  • Sounds good, well done, cute byebye :o) By the way, what the bleep is this language?????

  • but what are the strings for? o:

  • hey @KevinSolgaard24,

the strings gives the sound of snar drum.

  • @KevinSolgaard24 so itll sounds like a snare drums

  • great sound

  • dude, no no no, the panels have to have intersecting stubs if you want it to have any strength , where the pieces meet, they should fit like square teeth, or like gears, you know like this |_| |_| |_| |_| they fit together like a puzzle. otherwise your box will breaks dude. you also will use no screws or nails that way, just use glue, the right kind of glue of course..

  • @Luckiesthusband yeh, your way is certainly the best, tnx

  • @sodoonbor did you have any trouble with this-- you made this cajon, right? Did it collapse after sitting on it several times? how did you do the guitar strings-- how do they attach and where did you get the bells? thanks

  • @blasticpuddhas he got the bells from a fishing tackle kits :D the set is only like £2 at the most

  • @hotspurmitch thanks

  • @Luckiesthusband how tight are the strings pulled? to give it that snare sound....

  • @Luckiesthusband Dovetail joints? Is that what you mean?

  • @Luckiesthusband - What you're describing are known as "dovetail joints." Well, tecnically what you're describing is more of a hinge joint, which is a lot easier to create than the more labor-intensive dove tail, which looks...well...like a dove's tail! /___\ Like that.

  • Its not a good idea to make the name of the movie english and then start speaking some weird languege..

  • @sorenc3612 you are right, sorry

  • @sorenc3612 .. ignorant comment.

  • @sorenc3612 It's "language" not "languege" ;)

  • @sorenc3612 ignorant fuck.

  • @64jimmac Buhuhu need a napkin, little cry baby?

  • @sorenc3612 aww come on. If you can read a ruler and see pieces of wood, this is a helpful video. Not all information is spoken.

  • @sweavo You are right and to be honest I'm an little ashamed of my comment and I can't remember typing it...

  • @sorenc3612 wow, props to you for a great response! not many people as grown-up as you on youtube! peace

  • i built one of these to replace my suicase bass kick for my one man deep blues show....works f'n great however I place mine on its side so i can use 2 kick pedals, one for bass tones and one for snare tones

  • sounds interesting corey..

i play a one man band with didgeridoo, guitar, stomp box and this and that.

have you got a myspace page?

  • nice playing but i aint diggin the cajon

  • xa xa... chi bombor xiixnuu... ix goyo sanaa bna...

    bass bas dugardag...

    wowowow

  • wich wood you uses?

  • Cajun drum - looks like 1/4" birch veneer ply on front & back, maybe 3'4" pine on sides, top & bottom. Bells look like thery're on the type of springs you can get out of a ball point pen. Not sure about the snare cables yet.

  • @JimiTuber he says they are guitar strings, but whats the devise that they attach to (to tune them)? are they guitar tuning pegs?

  • If you can write down the dimensions as a description to the video, it will be of great help. Your work is very noble and appreciable.

  • In the beginning he measures around 49cm long by 29cm wide. That's a rough estimate, given the way he measured. And I'm sure you can vary those dimensions.

  • yea unfortuantly i dont speak this language....but this is awsome....im defintly trying to make one of these athome myself...sweet skillz BTW and thanks for the vid

  • Couldn't understand what you were saying but I got the just of it. Great playing skills btw
