I FOUND IT!!! The propaganda that amused me so. If it wasn't for movies like this I never would have thought intoxicants were so enticing. I remember wanting to be part of any rebellion, and drugs were the ultimate taboo. I was determined to be the antithesis of all expectation. I blame Nancy Reagan.

I watched this as a teen. Back then, I didn't take such "public awareness" films aimed at teens seriously. I thought this film was a riot, especially when Jack gets stoned. I should add I never did drugs although I had classmates that tried to pressure me to buy pot. I never took the bait.

there was another one like this that was made around this time, didn't have anybody famous in it, similar theme and message. it was set in a small town out in the desert. i can't remember anything else about it, but i remember it being on tv a couple times. that movie and this scott baio one both shaped my perception of stoner culture, right when i was at the age at which i was about to enter that culture, which is comical in itself. thanks for posting this!

Does anyone remember the name of an "anti drug" movie from the early 80's similar to this one where some kid gets introduced to smoking pot with some kids in a basement at school? At the end, they rob someone together because they need money for drugs, and tragedy obviously ensues. Then the kid "learns his lesson". I saw it as a kid, but I can't remember what it was called. Can anybody help me?
