  • Tom you need a swift kick in the ass. I am 49, Graduated with Don't look Back. Followed the band forever, been to many concerts. You are an Electronic Genius and paved the way for rock bands till this day. But Bringing in the Guy from Ratt to play and sing? I don't mind the guy from youtube because yea , you gotta give him props, he has a range, but sweet SUCKS, makes Boston sound like a garage club band and no it's not just MY opinion. And What happened to Fran Cosmo? You piss him off too?

  • GET RID OF THE SWEET , HE SUCKS BOTH ON GUITAR AND AS A SINGER, HE'S NO WAY BOSTON. REALLY TOM? REALLY?

  • Jesus, give the guy his props? How many people in the world sound at all like Brad Delp? I think he's pretty damn good, and I've been listening to Boston since 1976....

  • I know Tommy DeCarlo no bullshit. His Dad Cosmo DeCarlo is my Barber that lives down the street from me :)

  • Dude... how awesome would it be to be Tommy DeCarlo. Sing for your favorite band? Lucky bastard.

  • ah boston just wants to keep the spirit going but dicarlo fuckin blows sorry when he hits those high notes he peters badly ick

  • This fucker sucks, I've been listening to Boston since I was young and I can tell Delp's voice is in the background...

  • The new lead singer, Tommy, has a good voice, that is easy to see, or hear. I say, drop some weight, grow the hair out and let him do his best. The guy with the long black hear on guitar, no, not Tom Sholz, needs to lay off the vocals. Shocking to see Boston on the road only ONE YEAR after Brad's death. Even Skynyrd took ten years off before milking the cash cow. But granted, the singer has talent. Good for him. Long live Brad's memory and also BOSTON.

  • great song!! thanks for posting! We play all the great Oldies also, at

TOMA'S TIMELESS TUNES. I hope you visit. thanks so much. Tommy Toma.

  • "Note at the 1:24 mark where he (apparently) sees me and points, then subsequently double-takes (perhaps realizing I was a dude? lol)."

Singers point at anyone who is very animated or outgoing, not just girls. You probably weren't even there. If you are, then you are just so full of crap or just full of yourself. Also, he never does a double-take in this clip.

  • Cheap imitation that's all. The real singer, the only singer of Boston was Brad Delph, RIP Brad with out you Bostons not the Rock N Roll band it once was

  • @Chiswickbound btw his last name is spelled D-e-l-p

  • Wow I love it, I mean a home depot guy and whammm, and the best

thing about it is he isnt acting like hes the greatest

  • Good grief! Michael Sweet is with Boston??? Sorry...I'm out of the loop these days. What a great idea, though. Sweet's super high voice, and what's this about a 'Home Depot guy'?? A guy from HD tried out & made the band?? Somebody set me straight, please...thx

  • wow they sound very good live !! still!

  • I got goosebumps.

  • the only person who can come close to brad is adam lambert

  • @8302967

did you just compare one of the greatest rock singers of all time to......adam lambert? oooooh my

  • @8302967 you're kidding, right?

  • Brad was the most amazing musician [and] singer I've ever known. There's nobody on the face of this Earth that could replace him and do what he did," Scholz says. "But I have to say that these two guys, Michael and Tommy, do a really impressive job of performing these songs live.So Scholz is putting another lame Boston CD together by re-mixing some tunes from that failure (Corporate America) and hoping America buys it.

Hey Tom....how about dumping DeCarlo and writing some new tunes bro.

  • Tommy is a wanna be dreamer ......... Scholz should have kept the original band together........ Not his fault Delp committed suicide.... The only good replacement is Gary Pihl ..... A former member of Hagar's band !!!

Michael Sweet kicks DeCarlo's ass !!!!!

  • Memories - light the corners of my mind!! :)

  • No offence to Micheal, but when Tommy comes in, they sound like Boston again. Same with Peace of Mind!

  • @Dimension150 I can only agree with you.

  • It's good but not even close to Brad Delp........

  • I'm not really a giant Boston fan but I have to say I was amazed the first time I heard this on the radio. Boston is just doing the best they can with what they have, and I think they still sound great.

I'm a Queen fan, listen to the people that try to replace Freddie Mercury if u want to complain.

  • @clintonearlwalker No doubt, man. There is NO replacing Mercury. Too bad, too, because the rest of the band is still young enough to tour and do some damage. Paul Rodgers gave it a good go, but still nowhere close. I'm sure he knew that and just made the tunes his own when they played.

  • @tenndawg65 Yeah, thanx for that, for all intents and purposes, "Queen" will only ever exist as recorded music and video. It was a hell'uva run they had though.

  • Wow... The guy sounds great, but doesn't look the part at all. : ( Those are some hard shoes to fill. I sure give him credit for that. He's very talented, and I will definitely go see him. R.I.P. Brad

  • Brad was the man

  • Hey Brilliant!!!! Are Boston still making recordings?

  • @bloobear1 Yes sir! one more coming up "soon"

  • Quite literally chills to how good they sound! The combination of Tommy Decarlo with Michael Sweet and Kimberely Dahme sounds ridiculously amazing. Not as good as when Brad was alive, of course, but still, they sound pretty damn great.

  • the band is just trying to make it through a horrible tragedy.for them and the fans,it does them no good to sit at home and think.seen them live for the first time in boston without brad.i really felt that the band was as good as possible under such heavy circumstances.

  • the new lead singer is good but he's such a fag.

Not Tommy DeCarlo..he's cool..but the guy in the black.

  • haha the drummer is my teacher

  • Damn... it must be odd singing someone's lyrics that you didn't write... especially in the first person in like... Hmm. This is pretty sweet though.

  • Tom Shcolz is the home depot guy right, I wish I had a job working with him their that would be sweet

  • can someone tell me what happened to their bassist?? the one in the NJ video during foreplay/longtime video? The head banging one?? lol. thanks,

  • I can't really tell if he sounds like Delp from this; would have to be a studio recording (perhaps done in Scholz's basement?) for me to really be able to tell. I don't think this is a great performance.

  • Man, I really don't understand those comments. I think this is an all around fantastic performance!

  • It's nothing to write home about. The tempo sounds off and it also sounds as if it was taken down a step or two; quite unexciting and I personally don't care for DeCarlo. This wouldn't be anything more than a tribute band if it weren't for Scholz still being a member.

  • OMG decarlo is bringin old Boston back i love it

  • You people who hate are crazy...this sounds great. Anyone of you would sing for Boston if you really loved the band. Do us all a favor and shut up...go buy an 8 track and sit in your Ford Pinto and jam out on opera.

  • Nice to see Michael Sweet in the band but why is that fan singing too. Looks like he's going to fix the sink after the show.

  • That "fan" is their new singer since Brad Delp died. And, he works for Home Depot.

  • I want Arnel Pineda to join Boston after he finishes the Journey tour. Can you imagine what that would sound like ??

  • Nice video...Since Brad is gone, and Tom "the great" has kicked Barry, Fran, Sib and Fran out of the band.

It's great to see that Tom has joined a BOSTON tribute band.

  • I love Boston's new lineup. How that guy can sound so exactly like Brad is just beyond amazing. If they cut a new record and I didn't know...well I would never have known! And Michael Sweet is one amazing singer that also fits the band very well. Too cool!

  • The guy standing next to Sweet should be the lead singer. He makes this band!

  • Tom" Scholz? Well he really isn't a singer but he's a brilliant musician and the mastermind behind Boston. And the singer Tommy DeCarlo they found on myspace. His singing voice is exactly like Brad Delp really amazing. And Michael Sweet fits the band very well also, he's a great guitar player and really has the pipes too. Lke I said I like the lineup. I hope Scholz uses this opportunity to give us some new Boston music. I'll be the first to buy the new LP.

  • I'll be the second

  • @imikewillrockyou I went to his myspace site and listened to the songs. He sounds far from "exactly" like Brad. He's good (and definately not amazing) but I don't think he even comes close to Brad.

  • @imikewillrockyou That aint brad, the voice playback is making him sound like brad... UGH...

  • @yankeesfan2006 Oh, I know that's not Brad. I was just impressed how much he sounds like him. Apparently he impressed Tom Scholz as well. His name is Tommy DeCarlo, Scholz found him on myspace a few years ago after Brad passed. Tommy had some demos of himself singing Boston tunes and Scholz was impressed how much he sounded like Brad. No audio tricks, he really is a Brad sound-alike. Great to see this legendary band still rocking.

  • Imagine setting the tambourine down and strolling up to the mic ...on stage with all that talent and all that expensive equipment making a smokin great sound... the other lead backs away from his mic and the stage, better yet, the whole concert hall is all yours...

And you nail it! Enough to impress Boston!

  • There clothes? Come on people since when has Boston been about look? There about Music. And I think they sound great! Boton will never be the same but there still pumpin out rock and I think thats geat!

  • I quite like how they dress. They're real people, not washed-up rock stars.

  • kewl gritty video thnx for the post awesome

  • Why do people always complain about how they look!? That's not what it's about, it's about having a damn good time.

  • Really.... You'd think he would at least dress the part. He looks like he just came from a Nascar race. Jeans and a t-shirt ... tucked in at that.

  • You're joking, right? Schulz has looked like a pit crew monkey his entire career. Boston has never been about stage presence or fashion. They should have had Sweet just play guitar and DeCarlo sing all the songs.

  • Man, my hair is sticking up on the back of my neck.

  • i saw them in chicago with styx last summer, i hate to say it....But they sucked. They will never be what they used to.

  • pretty damn close to Brad. Definitely not him

  • Bob Vose from the band "Fortune" is the only vocalist who can lead voc. Boston outside of Brad Delp! These other guys don't fit!

  • The BAND Boston hasn't exsisted since their second and last album "Don't Look Back"! Tom Scholz has been crap without Barry Goudreau, Sib & Fran. The rest is nothing but wannabe Boston boring ballad girly pop rock garbage imo. All the garbage since Don't Look Back should've been properly titled The Tom Scholz Project. BOSTON had ONLY 2 albums and disbanded. Tom without Barry sucked and the same visa-versa. Barry did the fast guitar licks in Boston and Tom Scholz the sound fx.

  • Agreed. Don't know why anyone would thumbs down the truth? Guess they're not true Boston fans.

  • The VH1 story about the Home Depot guy on "Greatest Metal Songs" was great. I think he should wear a Home Depot shirt on stage!

  • When Tommy takes the mike they do not sound like the Boston of old.... If you saw a show from this tour you would realize that De Carlo had no business being on stage... Michael Sweet should have sang most of the songs..... DeCarlo may be a nice guy ....but he is no rock star.... I bet he gets his old job back at Home Depot.

Michael Sweet rocks.... he is not Brad Delp but neither is Tommy DeCarlo...or anyone else for that matter.....

  • I know someone who would love, and can no doubt, do the job to a "T"...Go search "Terry Dobson" and listen to him do "Amanda" just him and his guitar, and tell Tom to call him...Please!!!!!

  • What are you talking about, man? Same register and inflection. Maybe the delivery is ever so slightly different, and he like anyone will have off nights, but dude can sing! I think Delp would like this guy. If it's his style, or dress, or the like, that's just a little shallow.

  • Yep, when Tommy takes over the mike they instantly sound like the Boston we all fell in love with. It's amazing!

  • Comment removed

  • Kim DAHME and Tom SCHOLZ, you mean? Kim's your cousin and you can't even kinda spell her last name? Hmm...

  • What makes you say he ditched and never came out? I am assuming he performed right? So he didn't want to hang out back stage, no biggie.

  • The Home Depot guy has the range, but Sweet has the modulation and control of an actual singer. Both of them are astute in that adenoidal head voice you need to do the Boston thing. The Home Depot guy will be back stacking caulking compound in a week. If you overhear him in the next aisle, give him a shoutout.

  • Hey dont forget Grand Funk and Mark Farner.....however I had no idea this was so prevalent.

  • probably one of the best Brad Delp replacements, sounds great!

  • You're right, floridaguitar. No sadder story about bands being ripped off than that of one of the greatest bands of the 70's "Badfinger." Still not reason for greats such as Pete Ham, Tom Evans, and Brad Delp to take their own life.

  • Oh thats what I meant. He lived in N.H. and I guiess had a real allaborate suicide note about how there was gas in his bathroom. I think he did it with a bbq grill and let the gas run. its sad really. If I ever am in a band, I will not have someone have full control over the copyrights. My dad said when their album came out, every song on it was a hit, and everyone had it. My dad had 3 copies from the tape going bad due to too much use. ahahaha

  • sweet a class act!

  • On one hand, I thank Tom for everything up until the year 1987--the end of the Third Stage Tour. I consider him to be one half of Boston and Delp was the other. Problem was, he went out of his way to replace the one half continually. Fran Cosmo? Kim Dahme? I personally liked the original "band" the best--especially in concert--but making Brad share vocals---and now this....well, it's unforgivable.

  • Its sad how BIG Boston grew in such a short time, and then fell just as fast due to being ripped off. Tom commit suicide in his bathroom. :(

  • This guy rocks. And just imagine what he did sound like 10 years ago.

  • Ya know, I love Micheal Sweet's voice and totally respect him, but he just doesn't capture the Boston sound that we all fell in love with. Tommy DeCarlo does.

  • he does sound like brad. make him grow longer hair in other words a rock make over

  • This guy's great, and to the people knockin him, SHUT UP!!! you may have your own opinions, and they are wrong.

  • i was at that concert

  • His Vocals are amazing. See what happens when you persue a dream

  • Tommy Decarlo has incredible vocals, we can be thankful that he didnt go thru the whole bar, small club scene when he was younger because his vocals would be shot by now. This is why the internet is so valuable, you could never do this

10years ago, all you critics post your own vocals on your own myspace and get discovered.

  • Some of you guys gotta lose that pissy "I'm a frustrated musician working in Guitar Center" opinionated attitude...

This guy just made a dream come true through hard work and determination, not to mention a natural talent..So the next time you wanna slam somebody, why don't you post YOUR video OF YOU and back up your claim...AND I SERIOUSLY DOUBT THAT MOST OF YOU COULD...

  • Not only does DeCarlo hit the right range, his enunciation, clean notes (not wavy or warbly), and linguistic delivery are freaking SPOT ON. Sweet does a great job and he's an excellent vocalist, but his delivery is a little more flowery than Delp's work.

  • Tommy DeCarlo is AMAZING! Very few people could make those songs sound as awesome as Brad did. Sure he's not a rock star yet, but how much can you expect from someone with no professional experience. His voice is PERFECT!!!

  • Seriously, this guy has the stage presence of a Lowe's employee caught red-handed stealing batteries from Home Depot. It's also ridiculous that they give this guy a tambourine to hit when he's not singing. Hilarious, for all the wrong reasons. And put away the chewing tobacco, man. Can't it wait until AFTER the show? Jeez.

  • No offense intended Tom D.,but I noticed your skirting the high notes on tunes like "Something About You".But it's okay, your doing an okay job.I just thought I heard Tom Scholz say he wanted to move on and distance the band from the past.So I don't really see how hiring a Brad Delp sound-alike is moving forward, but whatever..it's your band.Let's see...your new album should be out by 2018 and I understand quality takes time...

  • they did not get rid of her and she works hard and is great addition to the band.

so dont start talking crap about her

  • Somebody give Tommy a Tambourine, so he has something to do while Mr. Sweet is singing.

Good job on the vocals, guys!

  • Thank God they got rid of that female bass player...They were starting to look like a Robert Palmer Video :D

  • Oh Yeah, I can't wait for T Scholz to get DeCarlo into his studio and create that Boston Magic we all are craving for. New voice and Songs with Boston stylings, music doesn't get better than that!

  • Very good job, but he seriously needs to learn how to "rock". Great voice but horrible performance, but suited perfectly for studio recordings and such

  • Wow, Tommy REALLY does sound like Brad, and helps bring back the "Boston sound" we all fell in love with! He just needs to work on his stage presence...badly! Michael Sweet has a great voice too and better professionalism on stage though.

  • Sounds fine, but Tommy needs to relax and stop pointing and clapping. He should pick up a guitar and air play or something.

  • Great piece!! Tom Scholz has found a gem in DeCarlo. For a man to go and attempt the songs of the master vocalist (Brad Delp) and hit the mark at each concert, I applaud you and your talent.

  • Sweet sounds awesome. He is getting better all the time.

  • This is by far the best cut I have heard from the current Boston lineup....Tommy should have sung it all though, that would have been a great cut!
