We don't know the age and extent of the Universe. We haven no clue where it came from. We know surprisingly little about science, even here on Earth. We can't even predict with 100% accuracy where a storm will be, or when an earthquake will occur, or what causes lightning. It's laughable that people can claim to know the universe will suddenly end at ANY time, or that it began with a bang. Both of those claims are 100% lacking in evidence.
@ThePunkPatriot The whole theory is based off of a misinterpretation of redshift and the assumptions that came afterward. People like Hubble knew that, if you were to assume the redshift observed with galaxies was a Doppler effect, it leads to the anomaly of a closed universe, that is suspiciously young and small. However, if you don't jump to that conclusion, anomalies disappear, you get a simpler, more uniform part of a universe with unknown age and extent. Which one sounds more reasonable?
Actually, I think hell can happen, for a time, if a person believes they deserve hell. I think a person can carry their own misperceptions of reality into the afterlife and get stuck.
@punkerbelle420 I am not an atheist, because I don't claim to have knowlege that God either exists or doesn't exist. The universe exists. This is proof of something, though i'm not sure what.
Nevermind all this religious bullshit. Where can I get my hands on one of those flags? I'm Googling and only coming up with a T-Shirt. I finally find a flag I'm willing to hang in front of my house and I can't find it!
That’ll be a remembered prophetic end time song - Mississippi Flood - u just gotta watch the top 1 hit by Pussicat Mississippi of the 70s - it talks about the end times and they got a gorgeous most pretty angelic like female singer! you'll be stunned! What happened that the christians did wrong was they started worshiping idols and false gods; pagan gods. If "Jesus" was about anything it was anti-empire-ism. He was "supposed" to be against war-like empires (in his time Roman) and their monied elite and all the oppression that follows. He was of the Jewish oppressed and that was who he was speaking for. "Jesus" would undoubtedly be against the Anglo-Christian Empire that is destoying humanity and their environment knowingly.Go punk.Me Atheist
Religion is the first and oldest form of control methods to be used on on human animals when we started to ban together in communities beyond the family unit. As technologies advanced and the communities prospered and grew too large for the chief and the witch doctor to control, the concept of organized government and everything associated with it was born, along withe desire to accumulate wealth and power as to force these beliefs on other communities...the rest is history.
Coming back over and over until you eventually come back as Jesus ? That is the centrepoint of the spacetime continuum. Then ascending as the next jump in evolution ?
The guys knows the world is not going to end.. He got what he really wanted: publicity. We are talking about him and that is all he wanted, and he got it. That equals more donations and book deals.
Damn, maybe I should open up a church (im atheist, but I could really use the money)
And according to the bible, Yahweh (The "Lord") is a man of war. Exodus 15:3 According to the bible, if the rapture is to come, it will be one gory bloodbath. That might be fun to watch ;)
@TiradeFaction Animals fight members of their own species for things like territory, but rarely kill. Animals eat one another and are still generally better behaved than humans. Humans are by far the most gruesome species on the planet. Not only do we kill, we kill not to eat prey, but for made up reasons like Gods and Nations. And we are constantly inventing more efficient, more effective, more brutal ways to kill one another.
@ThePunkPatriot Animals fight members of other species as well, and even wipe out one another. Many species also kill one another regularly for mates and territory. It's rare, sure, but that's only because they lack the ability of complex thinking and advanced technology (the former which enables the latter). Even racism exists in animals, dolphins are believed to kill porpoises simply for their difference in species, they also have brutal inter species conflict as well.
@TiradeFaction Yes, animals exhibit racism and territoriality and vicious bigotry just like humans, because humans are animals. All these "negative" traits that hippies decry in humans while they fantasize about animals comes from nature, they are not inventions of humans. Whether it's from dolphins killing porpoises to chimpanzees hunting monkeys into extinction, all that stuff is in animals and worse. Also animals kill each other in territorial fights all the time: alley cats.
@ProgressiveAudio Hell, some species, like ants, will not only kill and pillage but take slaves out of the defeated colony. A male lion will kill all the cubs of a defeated pride and they, along with other animals like hippos, will use infanticide to get the infant's mother in heat again to have their way with her. Baby birds of various species will bully their siblings to death to get more attention from their mom. Then there are the brutal wars of chimpanzees.
@TiradeFaction It's as Penn Jillette said about life not being disney bullshit where animals hang around with each other and sing songs. It's a reason I avoid hippies and ultra environmentalist, as if the smell wasn't enough.
@ThePunkPatriot Eugenics is also a common trait in the animal kingdom, with animal species often killing the young that are born sick or crippled. Or in the case of a chicken, for the simple fact the chick's feather colors don't completely match.
@ThePunkPatriot There are examples of genocide in nature too. I just recently saw a video on this and I think it was from FORA TV. I'll post it if I can find it. It turns out humans aren't anything special when it comes to morality.
If we spend half of the time and money we spend on war to feed shelter and cloth every single human on earth.

@chylerreckeaolgodhul Actually, the claim that the universe started with the big bang is VERY much supported by evidence. Otherwise, good point.
