This was the best cliffhanger of the whole series.
But honestly, the Ori priors, as tacticans, were plain stupid. The very first step after this battle should've been to eliminate their more dangerous enemies,,, the wild card in the Galaxy,,,,, Earth.
Well the Ori are what happens when a network can't make up it's mind. SIFi cancelled the show so they wrapped up the whole G'ould/Replicator thing and tied up all the loose ends then when it was too late to edit or change they decide to bring the show back so they need a new enemy. THEN after a couple of seasons they REALLY do cancel the show so they have to come up with a quick way to end the Ori storyline and tie up the new lose ends. If SiFi had done them right it would have all worked.
@LibraGamesUnlimited That's not how SG-1 Ended. SG-1 was closed due to the new popularity and introduction of Stargate Atlantis. The first time SyFy refused to show Stargate was during the production of Stargate Universe in which fans were being too upset with the outcome of their shows.
@simplygone1 Okay but the point is they cancelled the show and the writers tied up all the loose ends then after the finale ran they changed their minds and brought it back which forced them to create the Ori. Then before they had the proper time to wrap up the Ori stuff properly they cancelled it again forcing them to do the "Ark of Truth" and put an end to the story once and for all. If they hadn't been treated that way it would have had a much better ending.
Glorious are the Ori, who lead us to salvation, who did fight the evil that would doom us all to mortal sin. Did they defeat the old spirits and cast them out? And now, with the strength of our will, they do call upon us to prevail against the corruption of all unbelievers."
@TheCaptainCrack What I don't get is why a wraith hive takes as many asgard beam hits as a Ori ship when the Ori ship is supposed to be ancient technology.
@Roebot56 Wraith Hives are remarkable in their hull regeneration capability and thick armor. Ancients are commonly known for their advanced shield technology; not their relatively weak hull designs. With several Asgard beam weapons, they could penetrate through Ancient shields whereas no other form of energy could and then quickly destroyed the hull. Since Wraith do not have any shields they rely more on their armor and thickness of hull as well as hull regeneration to win battles.
the enemy's of the stargate universe. people with a god complex, spider robots, people with hunger issues, again, spider robots, and again, people with a god complex.
@Mueiwark That would have only delayed the inevitable. If you noticed at 2:15, the Ori ships could fire behind with their secondary weapons, which quickly plowed down a ship. The fact was they simply did not have the fire power to take down even one.
now that i watch battlestar galactica, i understand how bad their strategy is. They decide to send their little spaceships at the end of the battle, that is styupid, a real fighter would have send them from the beggining.
And the asgard are supposed to have beams that are more powerful that these balls of light they send on the ori.
@petithibou54 The Asgard didn't have beams yet. They only started developing them after this debacle of a battle. As to the lack of use of their fighters, considering that the 302's had no effect on the Ori-derived weapons platform in the episode Ethon I think they knew that sending them or Death Gliders against full blown Ori capital ships would have been suicidal. You can't really compare nBSG strategy and SG strategy because the tech differences are so great.
@Fbueller129 The Ori sateillite was just the main weapon with shields. F-302's could destroy it if it was a suicide run, notably dodge shots, hyperdrive (they have limited range) past the shields and ram the satelite/ship.
@Tuffnelle the Ori and the Ancients are the same race... they had different view on Ascension... so they decided to spilt into 2 races... The Ori are actually ascended beings.. using the humans of the Ori Galaxy to conquer
@LVCIVSDEI you are incorrect. It was asgard plasma beam weapons that were finally capable of destroying the Ori ships. And it was Asgard shields that enabled the earth vessels to withstand a bombardment long enough to destroy the ori vessesl. The sheer innovation for a non ascended racce to defeat ascended technology is startling. The proof is in the the episode "unending"
@1dschamp I agree with what you're saying but think on a bigger scale. The Ori were coming into a galaxy that they thought was much more primitive, when the Asgard beam weapons were introduced they were quickly overwhelmed. I believe if the Ori had time they would use their almost infinite knowledge to devise a better means of protecting themselves from Asgard Beam weapons; rendering them useless. Only because the Ori are Ancients.
@Tuffnelle In a manner of speaking yes, the Ori are literally Ancients but became a different faction you could say. In metaphoric terms, think of the Ori and Ancients as the United States. A split in differences then led to the Confederacy and Union during the Civil War; this is basically what happened to the Ancients and caused the Ori to emerge.
The Ta'uri ships are the Daedalus Class and they have alliances like the Tokra They Had Goa'uld ships and the free Jaffa Had Goa'uld ships that are called the Ha'taks and then Teal'C got the Luzian Alliance To Help Them In Battle Aganist The Ori
so why are the Asgard only helping with 1 ship when they got quite many, remember this is after the replicators are destroyed...so the asgard should be helping here.
@drag0nelf the Asgard seem to be at the point where direct conflict with an unknown enemy is simply unwise. They are more likely to assess the strength of the enemy and then react with new technologies. The war with the replicators would've changed their past overconfidence and developed and newer perspective. It think the single vessel would've have spend more time scanning the Ori weapons and shields to develop countermeasure, which obviously paid off in the end.
@silaku Although staying away from the large beam weapons would buy time, it would; however, just be stalling the inevitable. If you did not see, the Ori have secondary weapons that allow them to fire quick, short bursts of plasma which quickly overwhelmed the unfortunate Ha'tak class.
huge fleet of ancient ships vs huge fleet of ori ships,
bringing in Replicators and wraith in the middle of the battle, replicators helping theyr creators the ancients and the wraith out for more power and seduced by the ori fighting along side the ori
The Ori was kind of a mistake... nice concept for an enemy but their origin made them far too powerful for the plot to make any sense... the Aschen would have been a better enemy after the Gao'uld downfall... there's so many undeveloped race & culture in the milkyway, yet they have to go bring in another galaxy.
Or should have just make the Ori less powerful... and have some Replicators vs Ori fun... Ark of Truth is a very crappy idea for a device to end the whole story arc.
Its not the premise that bothers me... it the ties with ascension (which was not necessary)... ties to ascension made them far too powerful to be resolve other than by crappy plot device.
ya the ori is a good idea to bring in another bad guy due to the anients thing, were did they come from ect. ect. and not all... wait ya pretty much ori, replicators, wraith, but the gouald were hunted and killed
Nah. Ori did not fought even one battle with tauri nor asgard...just their followers. And yet - they were not so powerfull since even anti prior weapon could hold off Oricci/Adria ;] And she was not able to resist Goa'ould :] yeah yeah...Ori just suxxx. Without their followers they are nothing.
Well we know Adria can eventually overcome the anti-prior device, which puts her at least above the Star Wars force users, and she wasn't ascended at the time. Admittedly, having an army of ascended Ori was probably a bad idea that they had to rectify via Merlin's weapon. Without their followers, they're the same as the Ancients, only with no reservations about interfering.
@BioCapsule I disagree. It was appropriate to introduce a new, seemingly all-powerful enemy into the series in order to recapture that major feeling of threat against SG-1 that Goa'uld once posed. By this point in the series, the Taur'i are more advanced yet nothing they've done nor the threat they pose comes close to what Ascended (or near-Ascended) beings can potentially do. This was a chance for re-discovery and had the series gone on a bit longer, I think even more would have developed.
@earlyriser03 I agree...the whole franchise is built on the tau'ri fighting against an extremely overpowered enemy...first it was the goauld, then the replicators, the next step would be having them fight against the Ancients (which is basically what the Ori were).
@BioCapsule Furthermore, with attention already focusing on the Ancients in previous seasons, exploring their origins (and thus Taur'i origins) was the next logical step. Sure, the Ark of Truth was an abrupt end, but its purpose was to wrap up the arc within a 2 hour span. It may have been the endgame, but it may have been more compelling, or taken on a completely different form, had the series lasted for one or two more seasons.
@harshash In Season 8 episode "Threads" Oma Desala risks her own life in order to stop Anubis from carrying out his devastating plan: to wipe out all life in the galaxy. In doing so, Oma Desala kills Anubis, as well as herself.
@harshash The ships that came later were Luzian Alliance, there were two Tauri ships the U.S.S Odissey and U.S.S.R Korolev. The Korolev was destroyed. There was atleast 1 Asgaard ship and the other Goauld ships belonged to the Jaffa alliance.
Ok for one Merlin was an ancient. He choose to go down to human form . The Ta'uri wouldn't be able to make enough ships to match the Ori. That is a fact. The Ori have a whole galexy that can make ships for them. The Ta'uri even with the help of the Jaffa couldn't match them in ships or atleast firepower. I know that the bomb killed the actually Ori and not the army that was the purpose of the ark of truth. The ark was suppose to conver the followers.
Ta'uri weapons are considerable weak against an Ori ship. The Ori ships have better weapons and shields. they could take on 250 Ta'uri ships with just 3 Ori ships. The Ta'uri actually never defeated the Ori the ancients did. They gave the Ta'uri the bomb to kill the Ori and the means in which to convert there followers into seeing the true path.
yes they would.. They wouldn't even be able to get through one of there shields even if they had unlimited nukes.. The ori ships are just too strong. The only ship that i think could beat it would be an Ancient warship like the Orion
Your right... they do have plasma beams but it still took over 6 shots and a ton of luck for them to destroy 1 Ori mother ship... Then they ran and ran and ran until they were almost destroyed..... Ori ships head on are extremly difficult to destroy because of there shields and there weapons but there is a downside they are slow... but i still don't think this would help much when they have better weapons and shields.
It wasn't a bomb, retard lol if you are talking about Saangraal, its a device that neutralizes ascended energy in some way and if you are talking about the Ark...its a device that 'brainwashes' people into knowing the truth...that Ori are not gods
You successfully managed to mix up two movies and 1 episode...bravo,man...bravo
at this point in the story line the Asgard hadn't developed their new shield and beam weapons yet.. as soon as they had them they gave those new technologies to the Ta'uri ( earth ) and these new weapons were able to destroy Ori ships and withstand Ori weapons fire.. if the Ta'uri had as many ships a the Ori they would be well matched and could defeat the Ori ..the Ancients didn't give them anything it was Merlin and that was just to destroy the Ori not their army
i thougt so too just to mention the railguns of the Ta'uri doesnt eaven scratch the shield of an goauld mothership so what should they do against shields that are just 10000 times more powerfull? eaven if there were 250 daedalus class ships without the beam weapones they would lose entirely
At the time of the battle, Human weapons appear to be crude when compared to the weapons used by the Jaffa and Ori but Human Missle tubes and rail guns are actually quite effective if the target lacks shields. Railguns can heavily damage a Hive ship and the Apollo managed to cripple a Asuran ship with one salvo of its railguns.
lol human crew.....dude it had asguard crew...they scanned the orio ships and retreated to there homeworld were they out all there rescources on building the beam weapons
Ori seem to be kinda like the Covenant from Halo until the Tau'ri get the beam weapons. Seemingly invincible, but when it all comes down to it, they fall relatively easily.
Yea its easy to say that when someone else gives u superior weapons to defeat them. If the asgard wouldnt of given the beam weapons to sgc then what hmmmmmm.
Yep the Asgard knew about them, There was nothing they could do though. The Ori had managed to slightly outpace the Asgard in technology and the Ori had far more ships
this video took place at the end of season 9 therefore that is an asgard piloting that ship cuz the asgard dont commited mass sucide till the last episode of season 10
yeah good idea, just like was BRA'TAC did to his hatak when he rammed into one of the ori ship destroying the hatak but leaving not a scatch on the ori ship, after he was beam out. Talk about early suide when you havent try anything else to take out the ori ship.
The Asgard had been fighting the Replicators for a very long time and had few ships to spare. By the end of the war,The Asgard fleet was nearly destroyed. I cant blame them for sending only one vessel.
A few years ago, two parents went out for dinner. A few hours later, the babysitter was calling to ask if she could cover up the clown statue in the kids' room, the father said,"Take the kids and get out of the house. We'll call the police, we don't have a clown statue." The "clown statue" is really a killer that escaped from jail. If you don't post this letter on to 10 videos tonight, the clown will be in your bed at 3:00 am with a chainsaw in his hand
I just saw Ark of Truth and they do a lot of close up shots of the Odessey. From what i could tell she had on one side at least 5 railguns maybe more. Thats quite a lot. But considering how compact the mountings are thats not hard to beleive
then the tile will say to the poeple in the lowplanes "seek not wickedness amongst your neighbours less to find purchase in your own house" - Book of origin.
Probably not. The Ori seem to leave one of each ship type. Besides, the Asgard ship had better shields than the Odyssey and all the Ori threw at them was pulse weapons.
The asgard weapons seen in unending where the best the asgard have ever created and they never had time to put them on there ships
its the same story with the shields
The asgard ship seen here is equipped with the last generation of asgard weapons still very good but not powerful enough to take out the ori
The asgard ship probly didnt survive the fight-- cause in unending even the newest asgard defenses can only stop orio beam weapons 4 times before they collapse
Hmmm I dont think the Asgard would cut and run. They knew that the Ori must be stopped at all cost. I dont think they would have fled from the battlefield None of the other ships did
actully the asguard knew that it would be a long shot to destroy those ships. During the battle the asguard actully scanned the ships, then retreated back to there homeworl to build the beam weapons.
The Asgard beams weapons are nearly the same as the Ori beams. The Asgard weapons appear to be a bit stronger in some ways and they fire a bit more accurately.
I disagree. PER shot the asgard beam weapons are probably weaker than the ori weapons but since u can fire the beam weapons in quick succession they turn out to be alot more effective then the ori weapons.
The Ori ships have some protection against the beam weapons, but their shields start fluctuating after a few hits. Their shields are still strong, but they're easily penetrated with the beam weapons.
YES. Its like dropping small stones into a pond of water in different places, soon the ripples created will become very complicated and start canceling each other out or becoming stronger. Soon resonance occurs and then it becomes easier for the beam to pass through shield. I still think Ori shields the strongest.
the Asgard beam weapons are a new weapon developed after they encountered the Ori as is the new improved shield technology which was also more powerful than old Asgard shields. if u notice the Asgard ship shoots pulses not steady beam weapons as in season 10 when the Asgard first installed the beam weapons on the Odyssey a daedalus class starcruiser.
I don't know if the asgard ship got owned or not....but Veseer hanging out on the Odyssey after the battle suggests that....giving the huge crappy situation they were in....
Shit's fake

The ark was suppose to conver the followers.
spartenforver 2 years ago
Ta'uri weapons are considerable weak against an Ori ship. The Ori ships have better weapons and shields. they could take on 250 Ta'uri ships with just 3 Ori ships. The Ta'uri actually never defeated the Ori the ancients did. They gave the Ta'uri the bomb to kill the Ori and the means in which to convert there followers into seeing the true path.
spartenforver 2 years ago
u think 250 X304 with standart weapons would loose to 3 Ori Motherships?
would 250 angry cats loose to 3 gorillas?
Lionis123 2 years ago
yes they would.. They wouldn't even be able to get through one of there shields even if they had unlimited nukes.. The ori ships are just too strong. The only ship that i think could beat it would be an Ancient warship like the Orion
spartenforver 2 years ago
Even the Asguard couldn't defeat the ori ships... which sucks because the Asguard rock
spartenforver 2 years ago
The Ta'uri now has asgard plasma beams, they dont suck.
photonbombzx 2 years ago
Your right... they do have plasma beams but it still took over 6 shots and a ton of luck for them to destroy 1 Ori mother ship... Then they ran and ran and ran until they were almost destroyed..... Ori ships head on are extremly difficult to destroy because of there shields and there weapons but there is a downside they are slow... but i still don't think this would help much when they have better weapons and shields.
spartenforver 2 years ago
It wasn't a bomb, retard lol if you are talking about Saangraal, its a device that neutralizes ascended energy in some way and if you are talking about the Ark...its a device that 'brainwashes' people into knowing the truth...that Ori are not gods
You successfully managed to mix up two movies and 1 episode...bravo,man...bravo
Dalbert342 2 years ago
at this point in the story line the Asgard hadn't developed their new shield and beam weapons yet.. as soon as they had them they gave those new technologies to the Ta'uri ( earth ) and these new weapons were able to destroy Ori ships and withstand Ori weapons fire.. if the Ta'uri had as many ships a the Ori they would be well matched and could defeat the Ori ..the Ancients didn't give them anything it was Merlin and that was just to destroy the Ori not their army
victor2cutube 2 years ago
i thougt so too just to mention the railguns of the Ta'uri doesnt eaven scratch the shield of an goauld mothership so what should they do against shields that are just 10000 times more powerfull? eaven if there were 250 daedalus class ships without the beam weapones they would lose entirely
KoutaSeto 2 years ago
Your completly right...finally a person with some logic.
spartenforver 2 years ago
At the time of the battle, Human weapons appear to be crude when compared to the weapons used by the Jaffa and Ori but Human Missle tubes and rail guns are actually quite effective if the target lacks shields. Railguns can heavily damage a Hive ship and the Apollo managed to cripple a Asuran ship with one salvo of its railguns.
32silvercoins 2 years ago
I think the Asgard weapons are a little more focused than the Ori beam weapons.

lol human crew.....dude it had asguard crew...they scanned the orio ships and retreated to there homeworld were they out all there rescources on building the beam weapons

How strong are those Ori weapons, anyway?
teencomment 3 years ago
Probably where the strongest weapons in SG until asgard came up with the beam weapons.
I love the ori main weapon, too bad the asgard had to spoil everything
IntegralAnomaly 3 years ago
Ori seem to be kinda like the Covenant from Halo until the Tau'ri get the beam weapons. Seemingly invincible, but when it all comes down to it, they fall relatively easily.
teencomment 3 years ago
Yea its easy to say that when someone else gives u superior weapons to defeat them. If the asgard wouldnt of given the beam weapons to sgc then what hmmmmmm.
IntegralAnomaly 3 years ago
Yep the Asgard knew about them, There was nothing they could do though. The Ori had managed to slightly outpace the Asgard in technology and the Ori had far more ships

TeamCrusade 3 years ago
yeah good idea, just like was BRA'TAC did to his hatak when he rammed into one of the ori ship destroying the hatak but leaving not a scatch on the ori ship, after he was beam out. Talk about early suide when you havent try anything else to take out the ori ship.

The Asgard may be short but there brave,
32silvercoins 3 years ago
well they dont look brave here, only one ship show up and most likely run off, if it wasnt destroyed.
ShyArchangel 3 years ago
The Asgard had been fighting the Replicators for a very long time and had few ships to spare. By the end of the war,The Asgard fleet was nearly destroyed. I cant blame them for sending only one vessel.

its actually Tau´ri, Free Jaffa, Tok´ra,the Alliance, and Asgard vs the Ori here :P, And this battle is good.
wonder if The Goauld motherships, empowerd with replicators would win over those ori shipe? :P

If you don't post this letter on to 10 videos tonight, the clown will be in your bed at 3:00 am with a chainsaw in his hand

what about the daedalus apollo oddessey vs 4 ori ship after they got the asgard weapons?
in ark of truth every hit the only took from the ori only took 1.5% of the oddesseys sheild

goauld motherships kinda suck
freakjeep 3 years ago
I just saw Ark of Truth and they do a lot of close up shots of the Odessey. From what i could tell she had on one side at least 5 railguns maybe more. Thats quite a lot. But considering how compact the mountings are thats not hard to beleive

Question for whoever wants to answer
The Odessy and Korelev werent using there nukes where they
They were just using i guess normal tactical missiles
Anyone else have any thoughts
32silvercoins 3 years ago
Probably not. The Ori seem to leave one of each ship type. Besides, the Asgard ship had better shields than the Odyssey and all the Ori threw at them was pulse weapons.
SG14ever 3 years ago
The asgard weapons seen in unending where the best the asgard have ever created and they never had time to put them on there ships
its the same story with the shields
The asgard ship seen here is equipped with the last generation of asgard weapons still very good but not powerful enough to take out the ori
The asgard ship probly didnt survive the fight-- cause in unending even the newest asgard defenses can only stop orio beam weapons 4 times before they collapse
32silvercoins 3 years ago
i dissagree, the sheild on the oniel was very powerful, they probly jumped into hyperspace once the oddssy and the korlev was down
range2pk4 3 years ago
Hmmm I dont think the Asgard would cut and run. They knew that the Ori must be stopped at all cost. I dont think they would have fled from the battlefield None of the other ships did
32silvercoins 3 years ago
actully the asguard knew that it would be a long shot to destroy those ships. During the battle the asguard actully scanned the ships, then retreated back to there homeworl to build the beam weapons.
WLordnDRanch12 3 years ago
The Asgard beams weapons are nearly the same as the Ori beams. The Asgard weapons appear to be a bit stronger in some ways and they fire a bit more accurately.
32silvercoins 3 years ago
exactly...and something that could destroy there shields
WLordnDRanch12 3 years ago
I disagree. PER shot the asgard beam weapons are probably weaker than the ori weapons but since u can fire the beam weapons in quick succession they turn out to be alot more effective then the ori weapons.
IntegralAnomaly 3 years ago
The Ori weapons have to charge up before they can fire. And the Ori beams are inaccurate, they have trouble hitting a fast moving target.
32silvercoins 3 years ago
Thats why i said that asgard beam weapons are alot more effective. Charge time is quicker, more accurate and can fire in quick succession.
IntegralAnomaly 3 years ago
The Ori ships have some protection against the beam weapons, but their shields start fluctuating after a few hits. Their shields are still strong, but they're easily penetrated with the beam weapons.
teencomment 3 years ago
YES. Its like dropping small stones into a pond of water in different places, soon the ripples created will become very complicated and start canceling each other out or becoming stronger. Soon resonance occurs and then it becomes easier for the beam to pass through shield. I still think Ori shields the strongest.
IntegralAnomaly 3 years ago
the Asgard beam weapons are a new weapon developed after they encountered the Ori as is the new improved shield technology which was also more powerful than old Asgard shields. if u notice the Asgard ship shoots pulses not steady beam weapons as in season 10 when the Asgard first installed the beam weapons on the Odyssey a daedalus class starcruiser.
victor2cutube 2 years ago
well that was the oniel class, the beilskner class woulda never stood a chance
range2pk4 3 years ago
I don't know if the asgard ship got owned or not....but Veseer hanging out on the Odyssey after the battle suggests that....giving the huge crappy situation they were in....
