If a car is properly maintained (which it appears this car has not been), it doesn't hurt to rev your engine. My car has 122,000 miles on it and I rap it to redline several times a day. I've always driven my cars like that and never had problems. If don't bother maintaining the vehicle, then you're going to have problems.
holy shit....your only saposed to rev it to like maybeee3500rpm's and thats a constant 3500 not raping the engine to 6500 rpm's......and i bet he was asking why does my shit tick, why does my shit blow up....damn why cant i just keep a car running...? why...because you rev it like its a rotory....i have seen honda guys be nicer to there cars, especially on a cold start....dude in drivin seat 2 twinkies down!
thats dum ass is just a dum ass kid that mom and daddy might have just bought him that car and he might not know that he needs to call mom and dad and say i blow up my car need a new one know cold start dum and he might not have read the seafoam right becuse i have never had a prom with seafoam
Just so everyone knows, it wasn't my car (it was the guys in the drivers seat). It had 185,000 miles on the motor, so I seriously doubt he was expecting much of anything.
If he followed the directions right, he would have stalled out while feeding the seafoam in through a brake booster line. The car would be warm. Also, it is recommended to throttle up in burst over a period of 5 minutes or to have a drive with a few nice pulls for about 15 minutes. Seafoam will not help a bent lifter, however, which is caused from a life of over revving. Most likely it was already damaged and would have been made worse after hard revving at that point.
@Tupac1524 its probably not a cold start. Your suppose to put the sea foam in the car while is running, turn the car off, then finish putting in the sea foam and start it back up

Well if you rev it like that for long periods and often, of course you're going to have problems.

motor took a shit after the seafoam right?
asus3571 4 months ago
Ticks to fast for a lifter, Id guess. A lifter ticks with half engine speed. You can easily count the ticks at idle, like count to 5 in one second.

seafoam into cylinders only cleans the cylinders.
you need to add it to the oil before an oil change.

put it in the oil.

red zone for a hour it should go away mate ;)
1surenolove4life3 6 months ago
You do realize that a primary cause of lifter tick is gummed lifters and that you need to be running the seafoam in the oil, not the intake right?
lbreevesii 6 months ago
Next time try banana skins into the oil, works like a charm after they "work in "

@danbogart~ u use a lifter-free-up additive to free stuck lifters!.... not this crap!

I seafoamed my e34 bmw and now it won't accelerate when in drive but revs fine in park. P.S. I only threw it in the crankcase and gas tank.
sold13r45 1 year ago
@sold13r45 did you change the oil/filter and the fuel filter? the seafoam will gum the fuck out of your fuel filter
zJACKRABBIT 6 months ago
@zJACKRABBIT Yeah I did, I wouldn't suggest using seafoam. My tranny went out not too long after.
sold13r45 6 months ago
@sold13r45 What correlation is there between using seafoam and your transmission going out?
