  • how can humans be so cruel to animals? i wish the puppy mill owners can experience the puppy's life at a puppy mill

  • they should have an authority that has as a job to check where the pet shops get the puppies from, and if they get them from puppymills, tab them with a huge fine! Then we'll see if they would care more....These people talk money language, and we should talk the same language back...MONEY TALKS BABY! (of course the best thing of all would be to make it illegal, like it is in many many other countries in the western world...strange that America is so far behind...)

  • @qubatuta I agree but with pet dissolution groups like PETA, professional breeders are finding it more difficult to maintain licenses. Puppy mills crop up in their absence to fill the void and animals suffer. Promote and support professional breeding and pet stores would go under more quickly than if a law were put in place that could possibly inspire organized crime.

  • @tiemedown yeah, true. we keep forgetting what immense power we have as cosnsummers don't we? or we just like it a bit cheaper and a bit easier..!

  • I saw that YouTube had closed like2bonree's account. We be really proud that YouTube had closed that person's account because that person was such an idiot. Way to go YouTube users Charming Films and hollywoodjinky. Show those people that they're missing the point about puppy mills and other pet factories that are inhumane.

Don't you think people know this already? Most people want to see the comments that others don't want them to see. That's where the goodies are!!!

  • @like2bonree , just fyi, we have a law in West Hollywood because of the practices of this store. It's a law that prohibits the sale of dogs and cats from pet factories, puppy mills and facilities like that of Linda in Riverside. It's no longer legal, ok?

You really are a nitwit. Google west hollywood ordinance banning sale of dogs and read all about it. Maybe you'll learn something useful?

  • Interesting, HAVE YOU EVERY WATCHED, 48 HOURS, DATELINE, 60 MINUTES, this is how they get ALL their stories. PUPPY MILL SHOULD BE ILLEGAL PERIOD!!!!!!!

  • This means 76,999,900 households haven't even SEEN this video.

The government will take in approximately 2.5BILLION dollars in much needed tax revenue this year alone on pet related sales.

All your efforts are just a flea bite on the ass of an elephant who didn't notice, and if it does, the federal government will eventually take a fly swatter to YOU instead of taking a $2.5 BILLION dollar hit on tax revenue.

  • 77 million dogs as pets in the USA.

Approximately 75 million homes in the USA have a dog as a pet.

There have been 1429 views of this video, and probably 60% have been from people who are against animals being sold in pet stores.

This leaves a potential of around 500 people who have viewed this. Assuming fully 50% are won over to your anti pet store campaign means you have won over maybe 100 households. continued on next post

  • Well Hollywoodjinky, So far you have called me a stone-hearted moron, brainless, and pea brained, learning disabled and somehow I am to regard your posts as having merit at all? Your ad hominem attacks have invalidated any of your points, and proved you incapable of carrying on an intelligent, objective conversation.

  • If there was no demand there wouldn't be people trying to meet that demand.

If people can't get their dogs legally from a regulated and taxed business they will simply get them from the black market.

Here's some stats; 77 million dogs as pets in the USA. 45.4 billion dollars will be spent on pets this year! America WANTS it's dogs, and It is mathematically impossible for only home raised dogs to meet this demand!

  • Is it ethically or legally acceptable for a store owner to lie to a customer's face about where the dogs come from?

Additionally, when 5,000,000 unwanted dogs are euthanized in shelters every year, it is irresponsible to breed or buy more dogs. Adoption is the only humane thing to do.

A person who is educated about the facts would never want to buy a dog from a puppy mill-supplied pet store.

  • No.

Nor Is it ethical to lie and call a licensed commercial breeder a "puppy mill".

Nor is it ethical to lie and sneak into a persons business and secretly videotape for the purposes of destroying that persons legitimate business.

Nor is it ethical or legal to defame any business with false, misleading lies and accusations, otherwise known as slander and libelous statements anywhere!

  • All the photos in this investigation ARE from the PUPPY MILL where Elite Animals got their dogs. This was a LEGAL investigation and there are NO lies in this video. Everything is 100% true and there are no misleading statements.

It is not illegal to catch a store owner lying to customers and warn other customers about the lie. Without investigations like these, consumers won't be protected. This is why WE need the 1st Amendment and investigative journalism.

  • Our great government where we have the 1st amendment in place classifies licensed commercial breeders as same, The term "puppy mill" is a derogatory and defamatory(when used to describe a legal operation) connotation meant to describe an unlicensed, substandard, hence illegal operation. Is this where Elite Animals got their dogs? just curious.

  • Elite Animals gets their dogs from operations where dogs live in small overcrowded cages, drink dirty water, and have infected eyes. These operations are in violation of the Animal Welfare Act and have USDA violations - unfortunately, the USDA doesn't have the resources to prosecute all the violations.

  • so, It is operating legally, and does not have a legal term of Puppy mill in it's classification. So Puppy mill is a slang term.

Restaurants have violations everyday, but no one is calling for all restaurants with everyday type violations to be shut down!

  • Investigative journalists make reports all the time on restaurants which violate laws and lie to consumers. Consumers have a right to know where the food/products/animals they buy come from so they can make informed decisions.

  • Luckily, investigative journalists are doing what the USDA doesn't have the funds to do - bring these violations to the attention of consumers. While Commercial Breeding Operations that profit by keeping dogs in small cages may be legal, they are morally wrong. Similarly, slavery, beating your wife, and marrying children was once LEGAL in this country but thanks to education and public outrage these practices became illegal.

  • why would the government sanction and legalize something that YOU consider morally wrong?

  • The government once sanctioned and legalized slavery. Was slavery right? Isn't the world a better place now that slavery is illegal? Additionally, these puppy mills are illegal - the mills in those photos are in violation of the Animal Welfare Act - yet the USDA doesn't have the resources to prosecute.

  • like2bonree,

You sound like a stone-hearted moron. Puppy mills, the vernacular for commercial breeding factories, ARE morally wrong and so are you, by arguing for them. These inhumane enterprises that torture animals are legal and they are also wrong. Read some history if you can read, that is, and learn about all of the inhumane practices that were once legal and were legislated as a result of public pressure on moral gounds. Grow a brain.

  • Soon, puppy mills - just like slavery, wife-beating, and child marriage - will be made illegal. Our circle of compassion is ever expanding.

  • Hopefully your moral expedition applies to abortion, homelessness, and poverty as well.

  • Yes, I agree. I think the world will be a better place if there was no abortion, homelessness or poverty.

  • Geeez, Like2bonree, it's like teaching special ed here with you. The abortion issue, homelessness and poverty are very complex, they are important and yet irrelevant to puppy mills and way too complicated for your pea brain.

Really. Go learn something. Anything at all would be an improvement.

  • This "sneaking" into a place of business which is open to the public and lying to the public is absolutely justified and legal. Read up on defamation in CA. The burden of proof is on the plaintiff. If they have a case, let's see it. They know they used to sell animals from substandard breeding operations, they saw the evidence we presented at City Hall. Where were you? I'm thinking you must own an animal enterprise for you to be this ticked off about this teeny investigation.

  • how does this scum bag sleep at night

  • If you care about putting an end to puppy mills then join us we will be there every weekend to inform the public about where those cute little puppies come from. The mothers & fathers are SUFFERING, bred until dead, no vet care, never walking on grass, never having humans pet them. This is real!!! google puppy mills ALL puppy stores get their puppies from mills.

The truth is out there a dozen pet stores have either gone humane or gone out of business, people are getting WISE.

  • Comment removed

  • There is no way this video was made at the place where they get their pets. If it was, why don't you give the name of this 'puppy mill' here and prove that they got their puppies there? I'll go there myself and if it is true I'll become your most vocal supporter. You should stop harassing decent stores, but instead work with people who really abuse animals, be it 'puppy mills' or cruel and/or irresponsible pet owners.

  • Sure. The name of the owners of the puppy mill are Angie and Gerry Wensmann in Melrose, Minnesota. You can see/hear Carole in the video writing down the address to the breeder when she asked Tony for the paper work. The photos are from the breeder that supplied Elite Animals' dogs. Its one of the worst puppy mills in the country. Looking forward to having you join our cause.

  • The address is clearly stated in the vid. It's in MN. Go ahead and get pictures like we did. Stop being an apologist for animal abusers.

  • I'm sure you are the owner or a relative or possibly a really naive person who believes the lies that puppy stores tell. Responsible breeders DON'T sell to pet stores. We have a pet overpopulation problem in this country 9 million dogs and cats are killed in our shelter, this store should go humane and sponsor rescue groups instead on supporting the misery of poor dogs suffering in mills, check out The Dog Whisperer on Friday night the whole show is on puppy mills.

  • A decent pet store sponsors rescue groups, they don't support puppy mills. Shelters exist because people buy puppies and then grow tired of them, or move, or just want another latest breed. I rescued a puppy mill survivor, her belly was cut open for the puppies that this store sells. Get some compassion.

  • Search on You Tube "Posh Puppy Store Closed" Elite Animals has now been targeted by all the national animal protection organizations and this store has been called in for a meeting to discuss the evidence against them. They will be protested until they convert to a humane business model, the public already knows the truth, don't you watch the news. Elite is a puppy mill front.

  • Probably not all stores are the same, but this particular one is the most HUMANE store I've ever seen and the video has nothing to do with this store and is simply misleading. I can tell you for sure , if ALL pet owners took the same care about their own pets, there shelters would not exist al all.

  • FYI Humane means not selling animals, just because there store is cute & clean doesn't mean anything. The puppies are from inhumane dog factories it's plain WRONG, be sure and watch "Dog Whisperer" Friday night 1 hour on puppy mills actually right outside L.A. county. The compassionate thing to do is rescue/adopt, it's not humane killing 9 million companion animals a year.

  • I bought my dog there, and it wasn't from 'puppy mill', but a reputable breeder. I recommended it to my friends, and they also bought puppies from them and also are very happy. They would help you all the way and answer all your questions.

  • How sad the mother & father of your dog are living a life of hell, in fact I'm sure they are dead from being bred over and over and never leaving their wire cage! How sad that you believe puppy stores and their lies, 100% of all puppy stores and the internet get their puppies from mills.

You should have had some compassion and rescued a dog, in fact I rescued a puppy mill survivor and I plan on giving her the best life that she deserves. Time to get a heart.

  • rescuepet67 - you are lying! THIS store does not even exist 'for years'! What does it mean "so sleazy bringing out photos of exotic animals"? I am challenging you personally for your lies! Satcelharry, you too! .

  • I'm so glad the protesters finally got around to this disgusting lying store. I have known about this store for years and when the puppy store free L.A. got going I was praying that they would get to this particular store, the people that work there are so sleazy bringing out photos of exotic animals. They need to realize it's over they need to go humane and stop the the ABUSE of puppy mills in this country.

  • Let's hope Elite goes HUMANE!!

  • Great Video!!

  • We don't want this store to go out of business, we would like them to go humane, like so many of the stores we investigated and protested. They should stop buying animals from inhumane breeding factories and help relieve our municipal shelter system. They can still sell pets, just not from factories. It's the right thing to do, like Pets of Bel Air, Like the Pet Depots, like The Puppy Store, etc...

  • That was fantastic and so educational.

  • I really hope that the public is getting it PET STORES LIE, they all use puppy mills, supply & demand a mill needs over 100 dogs breeding to supply all the stores, they are puppy factories. 100% of all puppy stores sell puppies & kittens from mills, this store is really disgusting you can order exotic animals beyond sleazy, please don't go in this store maybe they will go away.

  • WOW this store is F##ked.

  • You rock Carole! Sad to know that even celebs like Schwarzenegger and the Ozbournes are duped by these pet shops of horror. Thank for for exposing this atrocity!

  • Thank you Carole for exposing them!!! Keep up the great work! We MUST shut them all down and put the puppy-mills out of business!!!

  • You are heroes for doing this. Thank God the animals have you on their side.

But no thanks to Obama and Biden, who will be responsible for more of these houses of horror, known as puppy mills, cropping up all over the country.

    Keep up the great work.

  • Shut this puppy mill front down.

  • THANK YOU for exposing Elite Animals!! They need to go humane or be shut down! We're not going to put up with this inhumanity.
