@NostroFinacho It's still not actual magic, he shines a light down on the Pikeman in the Two Towers also towards the end so they raise their weapons and the horsemen get a clear run. He doesn't actually use any powers to defeat enemies other than lightning sword on the Balrog.

That's why he planned to come "at dawn on the third day" because orcs don't like bright light and dawn is a good time to fight them. just my two cents
